The communication level in this office is not good. You email and try to call but it seems you are forgotten and never receive the tax advice you need to conduct a business. I want to give Jerry the best in his semi-retirement bc he did what he could but now after months of not being with them I am beginning to see where they mishandled my paperwork and created a multitude of problems after the fact. First I am no longer with them. They dropped me bc I was not the client they wanted. It's fair. I'm not a money maker. But first it was the IRS who penalized me for a late return. The fact is that I turned everything in by early march and the office waited till the last second to submit. Bc of that and the USPS the return got there late. I was penalized and left with no tax help and had to figure out why and what happened. They did fix that problem but getting a penalty from the IRS is never fun. Secondly, they never paid the $5 fee to update me yearly with the FTB (Franchise TaxBoard). That penalty costs my business $250!! I had to resolve that matter on my own again even though they missed their due diligence and never updated that for my business. On top of that is the fact that they had to update that thru the FTB and tell the Secretary of State (CA) to update the information on the company. They didn't do that either. That information never was updated either and it is now costing me vendors who will not do business with me bc I have a suspension on my account. The bureaucracy runs deep and is very disjointed. These agencies don't talk to each other and if they do - it takes months to repair the problem due to incompetence and red tape. It's pathetic. Unfortunately I'd say move on - there are better places to get an accountant

I spent approximately an hour on the phone explaining my business, operations, and the level of bookkeeping assistance I needed. Dee assured me that they could support my business and mentioned she had been doing this for a long time, which gave me confidence to move forward. On June 25, she requested my bank statements, profit statements, and a detailed explanation of my business. I spent another hour gathering the requested documents and walking her through everything in detail after spending her an email. She told me she would review the information and get back to me with a quote. After not hearing back, I followed up by email on June 26 and received no response. A few days later, I called and left a voicemail requesting an update again, no response. I called once more on June 30 and still did not receive a response. I'm disappointed that I invested so much time explaining my business and sharing sensitive financial information, only to be completely ignored afterward. Even if they decided they weren't the right fit, a simple courtesy response would have been the professional thing to do. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm. The lack of communication and professionalism resulted in a significant waste of my time.

He was rude and didn't explain a thing while he was entering the information into his computer. Instead of actively helping me with my taxes and where I could save money or pay less taxes, he just performed data entry in front of me. I also am a new business owner and when I asked about the taxes related to my business he promptly interrupted me and told me I had no real business and people just go around saying they own a business when they don't. I didn't understand & told him I'd made actual sales- which makes me a business owner. I want to make sure everything is done by the books. Either way, there are many write offs he could have helped provide me for my business but he never did. Not sure if he just doesn't know what he's doing or likely, he doesn't care.
