We love Sonshine Preschool and couldn't have asked for a better school. Teachers are nurturing, kind, and care about every student. We love hearing our children sing songs they learned from school and bring home crafts and worksheets. They learn so much week to week - learning to read, write, do math, and about various themed subjects. My kids have made close friends and matured socially/emotionally. The classrooms are clean, large, and organized. There is a large outdoor enclosed playground and my kids love playing with friends outside. A couple times a year, the school puts on Christmas and spring programs where the kids sing and dance. The teachers pour their hearts into these children everyday and it shows. We are grateful that the school is open long hours 6:30am-6pm and provides snacks and lunch. Our family has been so blessed by this school! I highly recommend Sonshine to anyone looking for a wonderful preschool!

It really saddens me to write this review but I know I need to do this so this doesn't to happen to anyone else's precious babies. I went to tour this pre-school in late July and everything looked and seemed amazing. So I was really excited and hoping to get my son into this pre-school so that he could learn structure, rules and socialize with other kids as well. I signed up to be put on the waitlist and was super excited when karen the office manager called me to let me know they would be opening another classroom and my son would be able to start on august 22nd. My son finally started school and everyday at pickup I would talk to his teacher (ms laura) about how he was and for the first few weeks he would cry at nap time and during transitions. As time went on by maybe the 3rd week he was doing so much better and crying less. Now around the 1st or 2nd week of school (I can't quite remember which week but it was the beginning of when he started here) when I picked him up as I was talking to ms laura I noticed when she said bye to Wyatt and went to give him a hug he kind of flinched like he was scared but I just brushed it off & thought that was a bit odd. We were now in week 4 of my son being in this preschool and I picked him up and we were in the car heading home when I asked how his day was and what he did. Out of nowhere he said "ms laura hit me" his facial expression was also sad when he said that to me. As you can imagine I was worried, stressed and sad for my son. I went home and check his body and seen three little bruises on his back that looked like fingerprints. The next and his final week i informed his teacher of what he said and she said she didn't hit him and that she redirects when needed. I honestly wanted to believe her but deep down I knew something wasn't right. That day (Tuesday) we go home & after dinner i notice my son is blinking nonstop like 40 blinks per minute. I thought it was sand or something in his eye so I made an appt to see his dr and we went to the dr that Thursday. I mention to the dr that my son said his teacher hit him and his dr was very surprised and told me to be careful because when kids this little say something like this they are telling the truth. Also my son didn't have anything in his eye he developed a nervous tic from the stress of this school & I'm sure due to whatever was happening at this school when no one was around. My son never went back to school after his dr appt. I want to add that there was never any complaints from the teacher about my child, everyday I would ask how he was and she would say he was good, he would have trouble usually at nap time because he would cry a lot and wake up early. I feel like if he was giving them trouble they should have told me but the teacher never gave me any negative feedback about him which is why it was more shocking to me as well. They would say he was good ‍ I feel bad for putting my son in this situation, what I thought was going to be a positive experience for him ended up traumatizing him. It hurts so much to see your child go though this, im upset that Sonshine preschool ruined this experience for him and I. I'm upset that they would allow anyone to hurt my innocent & happy sweet little boy I hope this will save someone else. I recommend you all use the facility search bar on community care licensing website to search this preschool (facility # 191597606) and any other daycares/preschools you are interested in to see if they have any citations or complaints (all you need is their facility #). Had I known about that sooner I would have never taken my son here. UPDATE: 10/8/22 Thank you for responding. I just did a facility search and don't see a record of your preschool being visited as of yet... I would also like to add even if the investigation comes back unsubstantiated it doesn't mean what my child said wasn't happening it simply means he's too small to explain hisself, which is an advantage to you guys. At the end of the day the person who did what they did to my child has to answer to god.

Please also look the 1 & 2 star reviews for New Life Community Church under Yelp (some of which dates to over 6-15 years ago, which means this congregation/administration at New Life is complicit). They're unequipped to provide adequate care for your children nor keep your children safe. The head of the children's ministry, Tina Tribolet, who oversees New Life Preschool and their summer program Connecting Kids, is beyond rude as an educator and quite frankly shame on New Life for allowing her position as the children's pastor. Tina Tribolet removed my neurodivergent child from attending New Life under the pretense and I quote her verbatim that New Life is "not able to provide aid for such mental retardation." This statement from her left me in complete horror and shock. It worries me deeply that New Life has appointed a person that would make such a statement as the children's pastor and head of the children's ministry. (1) To parents with neurodivergent children, do not let Tina Tribolet groom you or your children into thinking your children is a problem that they're not. Her staff is uneducated and unequipped to guide your children with empathy and will isolate them as problematic. The children's ministry that oversees New Life Preschool and Connecting Kids does not allow for diversity and inclusion as they claim on the New Life website. I also question the credibility of Tina Tribolet in general as her staff Miss Luna left me a voicemail 2 hours prior to our conversation that completely contradicts her accusations towards my child. In the voicemail, Miss Luna stated my child was doing great that day with much improvement. Interestingly enough, I receive a call a bit later from Tina making wild accusations and that my child is no longer welcomed at New Life. It was during this conversation that Tina stated New Life no longer receives funding for my child's "mental retardation." Parents, I urge you to not subject your children to the scrutiny of her questionable ethics and practices. (2) To parents with children with medical conditions, there is a huge gap in staff to student ratio. Which needs to be brought to attention as they have one of the bigger facilities and play area in the nearby cities. Moreover, the staff that actually watches and interacts with the children are very young themselves. The staff evidently lacks teaching experience and leadership skills, which are both crucial to make fair judgement and compassionate support for our children. During bubble/water play day, my child bumped into another child as he caught bubbles/soap in his eyes and could not see. The other child, who has a history of seizures, ultimately fell and hit his head. From my conversation with Miss Taylor Harrison the day after, I want to make it very clear that there was no staff that actually witnessed this NOR was nearby to help the children. As a result, Miss Taylor scapegoated my child in what it seems as an attempt to avoid liability. My child said non of the staff questioned or even attempted to ask him what happened, and immediately pointed fingers at my child and punished him for their inability to maintain a controlled environment. After leaving New Life, my child was enrolled in a different facility right away and I received no complaints. The educator that runs the new facility said she had no idea what Tina Tribolet was talking about in regard to my child's behavior. Apparently New Life has a running reputation for how young and untrained their staff is. I have been meeting moms after moms that have had similar experiences with Tina Tribolet and cannot believe her rudeness and absolute audacity. I wish I knew about this before enrolling my child into New Life and I hope no other children come close to how badly Tina Tribolet made me, my child, and all other parents/children I've spoken to felt.

Half of the summer fee was $725 which I paid 2 weeks prior to the program start date. My 6 year old daughter came home every day telling me how the "teachers" yell at the kids and say things such as "deal with it", and "that's not my problem". Now I don't even speak to my child that way. Another incident was my daughter told me that one of the "teachers" grabbed her arm and told her to throw her trash away. Totally unacceptable. How about I grab one of them?! Though they were fully staffed, they staff all seemed very young and inexperienced. Each day I went to pick up my daughter, I could never find her. The staff did not know who she was (mind you she was probably one of the few children there without a chinese last name- and my daughter is half chinese). The posted "schedule" was never correct so it would usually take me 10 minutes or so to locate my child. I was frazzled each time thinking she was kidnapped or lost (the facility is located at a church which is wide open to the parking lot and a main street). After dealing with the director and her assistant, I was even more displeased at how unprofessional and uncaring they were about the situation when I explained why we were leaving. They basically did not care and their attitude proved it. If you read my other reviews, you'll see that I mostly post when I'm happy, but seeing that nobody else commented about this place I feel like I would be doing a disservice by not sharing my bad experience. This place is a church hosting a summer program. Don't let it fool you.
