Church also has AWANA club for kids ages 4-12 I think. Greeted at the door twice at the 10:30 service…read more Greeted before entering the chapel, welcomed during the service, but nothing that blared over the loud speakers; just a bunch of caring neighbors, offering a handshake to one of His children. I've since been to both the 10:30 a few times and their 9:00 AM a few times. Both a little different, but also the same. Good praise and worship time, great lessons, and most importantly, lots and lots of people being real. I don't do the brain-wash or the "leave your house in your will to us" stuff; I just like to go and give Him praise and glory. What a phenomenal place to do just that.

The people are warm and welcoming and the messages thought-provoking and inspirational. This church does NOT make the mistake of trying to fit new people into slots without knowing them. (I've been to some churches like that!) I feel like I can be myself here. It is a very human church but filled with very faithful people. It's also on the move, trying to hold onto some traditional ways while also "moving into the 21st century," as our choir director has said. This church has vibrancy, intelligence, caring, and warmth. Some folks there have always been Episcopalians, but many people, like myself, come from other Christian traditions. All are welcome and valued. I feel like my faith is growing in unexpected ways, really challenging me. What else can you ask of a church?

Quite frankly I find that rude and insulting. People of this church need to understand that acts such as this is the reason that the church is getting smaller in America. They need to know that showing Gods love to people is the only way to reach out to your community. That relationships are the answer to growing the kingdom of God. Money helps, but Jesus never sent the basket around again after getting the 5 loaves and 2 fishes saying that it won't do, he needed more. If we are to be Christs representatives on this earth, we should act the same way and have faith that God will make miracles happen when we just step out and believe that He who created the universe out of nothing can also use us in a miraculous way.

I have been trying to get closer to my faith in the past few months, primarily due to hard times, but in the most recent months, this church has helped me grow dramatically. If it weren't for the people involved with this church, I don't feel my faith, strength, and excitement for my journey would be the same. It's different for everyone, but how I did it involved a lot of time and discipline by attending mass, participating in the passion of christ play, worship and prayer, adoration, shadowing confirmation classes, and networking. I believe, he has his sermon's on YouTube, if you need more inspiration. There is a lot that takes place when operating a place of worship. A lot of dedication and sacrifice by members and volunteers who offer their help. As far as the lighting and a place where the Bible isn't present, does not make it a place that you can't get filled with the Holy Spirit. We are there to worship and honor God. Not so much for the lights or decorations and entertainment. We focus on the Spirit and the Word that is being said, for that particular message the pastor is conveying to the people. Please, be of good cheer, for the Spirit of God dwells in this house of worship. Seek, Yahusha and He will bring you rest. Shalom

During the services each of 2 Sunday services (8:00 & 10:00) hosts a brief meet & greet extending friendship and welcome to all parishioners.  The services offer a musical feast in between oral messages. The pastors rotate so that head paster Barry Crane is not always the key speaker. His sermons are special as he has a natural presentation style that is calm, reassuring and dynamic. The other pastoral staff rotates so that everyone gets a chance to lead the worshipers and to share their unique ideas. Doctrine tends to be more conservative with traditional values and practices. While some area Christian churches are heavily into political messages, this church uses a soft approach, which some members find comforting. North Sound Church is an escape to solace providing a break from all the political arguing, a place to give your mind a rest and just enjoy the fellowship it provides.

The services are streamed online and my parents watch them in the living room Sunday mornings. I have found myself wandering down and joining them in watching and/or listening to the service each week for the past few weeks. I even watched the Maundy Thursday service this year! The messages have good take-aways that can be used to guide choices and decisions in day-to-day life and the music is consistently good to great. If there are things conveyed in the sermon that one of us (me, my mom, or my dad) has questions about we'll discuss it afterwards, helping us growth in our faith together. Overall an enjoyable experience.
