Such a lovely, inclusive community. The people here are like my second family and I felt so welcomed as a newcomer.

He wanted them to work in his Seattle area stores and to start a new congregation of believers who had a heart to restore Biblical simple Christianity. Just over ten years ago the Northwest Church of Christ in Shoreline merged with the Shoreline Christian Church. Both congregations had a rich Restoration history. After years of service in the North Seattle and Shoreline neighborhood, years of prayers were answered in the sale of our two buildings and purchase of the former Bally/LA Fitness center. This building has been completely remodeled and repurposed to be not only our church building but to become our Community Life Center, the Home of the Northwest Church. We share some of the upstairs with The Puget Sound Christian Clinic where they have offices and a fully outfitted dental clinic. We are here to be a blessing in Lynnwood!

Plain and simple, Open Door Baptist Church is the best King James, Bible-based church that I've…read moreattended. The pastoral staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, approachable, and humble. They're easy to talk to, willing to teach and share the Word, and they're great people to fellowship with as well. I appreciate their preaching, because they all have different backgrounds and it shows. Each pastor has their own way of teaching the word, and I also appreciate that they're all willing to share their past experience, no matter how 'imperfect' it may be. It makes listening to their sermons relatable and easy to digest. The head pastor, Jason Murphy, is the second pastor in the church's history. He grew up in the church too, so he understands and appreciates its history and I think it helps push him to not only be a great preacher, but also a great church leader as well. He is truly invested in the church family and the growth of it and the church itself. The church has two Sunday morning services: 9:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. In tandem with the Sunday morning services are a variety of different children, teenager, and adult Sunday school classes. Additionally, there is a Sunday evening church service at 5:00 p.m. and a mid-week service, on Thursday's, at 7:00 p.m. Also on Thursday evenings, at 7:00 p.m., are children's Awana classes - which are essentially Sunday schools, but in a Thursday - and a separate youth/teenage service too. Beyond the Sunday and mid-week services and Sunday School and Awana classes, the church (and church family) are very active in several different community outreach programs, door knocking campaigns, etc. all designed to share the Word, grow the church, and help people with their Christian walk. It also has offers Bible Institute, various doctrine-based membership classes, and other ministries. The church also does a fantastic job of supporting dozens of missionaries across the world, hosting guest preachers, and among other things. The church family is extensive. There are people from all over the world and from all walks of life. It's so easy to connect as Christians, friends and a church body/family. I cannot stress enough how great the church, the pastoral staff, and church family are. They're welcoming, relatable, honest, and most of all biblically-centric and it's helped create an amazing experience for me - and I'm sure hundreds of other people. If you're looking for a King James, Bible-believing church, then look no further. If you're not saved and not a Christian, but would like to investigate church, hear the Word, and feel welcomed - then I'd highly recommend that you give it a chance. I cannot say enough about the church and it's people.

Well, we have been going to this church for at least 3 years. This church is for people who wants to learn about Jesus and wants to grow in Him. Music: a few different styles and it is pretty charismatic, but not just a rock. There played soul too. Preaching: it is reformed church. I can also call it reformed presbyterian church. If you are a single mom or dad, bringing your child here will be great. There is a youth ministry and morning bible school. Plus many other activities. This church has a plenty of people of different ages for 1yr old to 75. They have a few growth groups for socializing and a Bible study. You WILL NOT fall asleep during sermons there. LOL! Inside and outside this church is neat and clean and cozy. Plus there is a lots of parking space and easy accessible for wheelchairs. Coffee is allowed taken to the seat during a worship. I probably will edit this review for a couple of times because like I said it is very hard to describe your family, which is not just a building.

Pastor Tim has great sermons on Sundays that speaks to all , young & old. The church building has a different design , when it was built it was built like a drive in movie theater , people could set in there car while the pastor stood on a deck and told the sermon. It is a great church for the broken .

During the services each of 2 Sunday services (8:00 & 10:00) hosts a brief meet & greet extending friendship and welcome to all parishioners.  The services offer a musical feast in between oral messages. The pastors rotate so that head paster Barry Crane is not always the key speaker. His sermons are special as he has a natural presentation style that is calm, reassuring and dynamic. The other pastoral staff rotates so that everyone gets a chance to lead the worshipers and to share their unique ideas. Doctrine tends to be more conservative with traditional values and practices. While some area Christian churches are heavily into political messages, this church uses a soft approach, which some members find comforting. North Sound Church is an escape to solace providing a break from all the political arguing, a place to give your mind a rest and just enjoy the fellowship it provides.

The services are streamed online and my parents watch them in the living room Sunday mornings. I have found myself wandering down and joining them in watching and/or listening to the service each week for the past few weeks. I even watched the Maundy Thursday service this year! The messages have good take-aways that can be used to guide choices and decisions in day-to-day life and the music is consistently good to great. If there are things conveyed in the sermon that one of us (me, my mom, or my dad) has questions about we'll discuss it afterwards, helping us growth in our faith together. Overall an enjoyable experience.
