This was our first visit to Doyle's. My husband got a single scoop of mint chip ice cream. Originally, I was going to get a banana split but they were out of bananas. I decided to get a triple scoop: chocolate thunder, mint chip, strawberry ice cream. I was able to add 3 different toppings, whip cream and/or nuts. I got strawberry, chocolate and fudge. I thought strawberry, was fresh fruit strawberries. I thought the chocolate was chocolate chips. There is a little patio area, with tables and chairs behind the parlor. I was super disappointed by the ice cream I received. The sauces were overwhelming, disproportionate to the ice cream. The sauces were way too sweet. I couldn't even taste the ice cream. The ice cream was fair, not rich and creamy. I didn't finish even half the ice cream, not worth the sugar high and dry mouth. My husband said the ice cream was the same quality as the store's... but more expensive.

It was awful--stale and tasty strongly of cinnamon, which was just odd. The man who served us was friendly and upbeat, and the old toys made for a fun atmosphere.

Although they didn't have the two choices of ice cream I wanted--there were so many more flavors to choose from and I wasn't disappointed at all. So here's what I got: -Double scoop in a cup: one scoop of Fat Elvis and one scoop of Superman. Fat Elvis had a great banana taste that wasn't too overpowering and the peanut butter balanced it well and the chocolate chips gave each bite a good crunch. The Superman is a blend of three different ice creams, which oddly reminded me of bubble gum ice cream from the ice cream truck as a kid, but even better. Hard to describe but tasty if you're looking for something sweet versus chocolatey. -Caramel Apple Pie caramel apple (unsliced). They offer to cut it up if you want, which is nice. I waited until I got home since I was having ice cream. The apple was so yummy! The apple itself was tart and sweet, the sweet white confection coating was tasty but not sure if it was supposed to resemble the crust of apple pie but nonetheless still great, and the added cinnamon sugar gave it it's apple pie touch. -The Gold Digger Caramel Marshmallow: it was a marshmallow on a stick dipped in caramel, then rolled into rice krispie cereal, then dipped in chocolate to finish it off. I enjoyed this and liked how the cereal gave it a crunch and balanced out the sweetness of the marshmallow. All in all, I love that I discovered this place and can't wait to come back for more ice cream and try a handful of other different treats!

At 7:43 PM, one of the workers came out from behind the counter and told about 10-15 of us in line that we would have to leave because they close at 8. She was very kind about it, and she kept saying "I hate having to do this," but it made absolutely no sense. She arbitrarily split the line, and decided some people could stay, but said the rest of us (5 girls ahead of us, and 7-8 people behind us) had to go. Mind you, the girls in front of us and our group were ALREADY IN THE SHOP. Everyone looked really confused, understandably. I've literally never had this happen to me before. I held up my phone to show the worker the time, and I said, "Its only 7:43. We have 17 minutes before closing." Others said, "but we're already in the shop" or "but we've been waiting in line for a while." None of this made any difference. We all still had to leave. Even though there was plenty of time to get everyone ice cream. And god-forbid they have to keep working until 8:05 or 8:10 to make sure patrons who waited in line could get ice cream. What kind of shop does this?? How is this acceptable? "Bad customer service" puts it mildly. I could spell out a million other better ways this could have been done. Do better, Scoop. Spokane already struggles in the ice-cream shop department. Please be a part of the solution, not the problem.

It was disgustingly sweet. And I use sweet relish in mine so I'm used to sweet style, but this wasn't even edible. The potato salad tasted like it was made with dirty potato skins. Absolutely no flavor or seasoning to it at all. I was very disappointed. So much that they both went into the trash and I won't try anything else from this establishment.
