The black women with braces was pleasant and apologized while telling me lies. I reminded her everything is documented and I was recording prior to her coming outside. Only reason why I was addressed is bc they noticed I was recording and ran and hide in the back. She stated "they are not employees but were just there" like what?! . I arrived 6:49 and left 7:10. Yes this a review for a franchise fast food place but I just have to say I LOVE SONIC! Everything on their menu is delicious and the service each time is top notch. Although previous reviews aren't good due to the service, I beg to differ with my personal experiences. There is a certain standard of service for the fast food industry, but each employee here always has a smile on their face and is pleasant. It's the little things that also contribute to a good dining experience. I personally have never waited very long for any of my orders at this location. I love their sides & drink/shake options. I only have one complaint: PLEASE UPDATE YOUR DRIVE THRU MENU. The font is so small, it is not easy for anyone to read. In fact I never read it. Sonic. I mean, hmm. When Sonic first came to Michigan I was like oh my gosh amazing and now I'm just kind of like meh. My main reason that I go to Sonic is for their ice cream. It is actual real ice cream, and it is actually really good. The downfall is it in a little bit pricey. But keeping with the you get what you pay for concept, I guess it's worth it. Their slushies are also fantastic and I love that you can mix flavors how you want or even mix all kinds of flavors in your pop. But with a lot of those free-standing machines now where you can get a coke with whatever flavor you want, I guess that's not that Innovative. But Sonic did kind of have that concept first. This Sonic can be really slow it can also get really busy, but it can also be super fast. It's right off of Hall Road right next to a Meijer and I don't know if you can fault the location for when it gets super busy especially on a really hot day. Overall it is a okay. I don't really like any of the food here, so I wouldn't really recommend it as in my opinion it is overpriced and if you wanted a burger you could get a better one at McDonalds. So stop in if you want but especially stop in if you want the ice cream. read more

I've been to this location multiple times but I've never written a review. First of all I must say they have delicious shakes and malts and slushes in almost any flavor or flavor combination you could imagine. Trying to decide which one to choose can be a dilemma since so many of them sound so good. I tend to stick to the basics of grape, strawberry or cherry though. I highly recommend trying the shakes and malts as well. I'm a chocolaholic, so I always get the chocolate flavor. I know... I should branch out and try new flavors! For the vast assortment of beverage flavors, it's well deserved of five stars just for that. Oh and we have been there during their happy hours on their drinks. Not alcohol happy hour so don't get too excited. Lol! Service is always relatively quick. The convenience of ordering and paying at the card reader attached to the menu board in your own parking space is super convenient. There is of course a drive through as well or you can sit at one of their picnic tables and order from a stand alone ordering machine. Now, my last visit was a different story. We placed our order of 2 hotdogs, a mini order of fries, a vanilla shake and a root beer. A simple and quick fast food meal, right? Yes, I know, not the healthiest choice, but I don't eat here often for that reason. After placing my order, I tried several times to use the card reader so I could pay but it wasn't working. I used the call button and told them about my problem. They informed me it was 'down' and the carhop would take my card inside. Umm.... not something I like to do. Parting ways with my card gives me anxiety. Why didn't she tell me about that immediately after I ordered so I didn't waste several minutes trying? Obviously they were having the issue, but then not to bother saying anything as I sat there getting frustrated trying it over and over. Argh! We waited for what seemed like an extra long time for such a simple order. Then when the cars next to us were receiving their orders after placing them after we did, I was losing my patience. Finally just as I was about to flag a car hop down, our food was delivered and off she went with my card in hand. It was returned in a timely fashion, but it was still an uneasy feeling having my card out of my sight. The food was fine for fast food. Lots of ice in the pop as I forgot to say light on the ice. I hate paying for a little bit of pop in my "cup of ice"! All in all, not bad. Why three stars? I took one away for not telling us about the card reader problem in advance and another one away for the slow service when everyone around us was getting their orders before ours. Well, this Sonic location is top notch. I'm not one to order hot dogs at a drive-thru, but Sonic delivers on the promise for a great dog. I've tried them all and they are all very good, but the outstanding treat out of them all is the Chicago Dog. Well spiced, put together perfectly, and it tastes delicious. The burgers are decent as well. Again, I'm not a huge advocate for fast food, but when I have to stop Sonic burgers are damn good. I'd put them ahead of McD's and BK for sure. If you are lucky or are just a pro and know when they have them or not, you've got to have some of the Cheddar Bites. No, they don't always have them, but when they do they're so good! Lastly, they shakes and other crazy beverage concoctions are worth a try, especially during the hot weather months. So, if you're in the need and want something other than a Big Mac or Whopper, give this place a try. read more

Located in the Meijer's parking lot at the corner of Hall and Hayes, this Sonic location delivers refreshing (maybe??!) drinks and fast food ..... at a snail's pace. Boyfriend works late nights and together we have tried finding food options at random hours, without breaking the bank and without one of us making said food. After driving by almost daily I decided we should try Sonic. I haven't been in years, as had he, so we were up for the challenge. We pulled in around 11:25 -- about a half hour before closing. We don't like to be "those" people but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. The drive thru menu is almost impossible to read. I suggest looking online ahead of time to figure out your order. The employee didn't greet us with a nice "hello" but instead opted for the always great "what do you want?" She really made us want to come back again and dine at this classy establishment -- Not. We eventually ordered our items (3 piece chicken tenders and a grilled chicken sandwich and we each had slushies to drink) before waiting in line for them to be ready. 20 minutes in line and finally the food was ready. Was it worth the $14 charge and long wait? Absolutely not. The chicken sandwich was sad looking and pale, with no taste or extra spice. The chicken tenders were good, thankfully, but the sizing was weird. All 3 tenders were on the smaller size. The drinks also lacked flavor and mostly got thrown away. Maybe it's because of the random hour I was here or maybe this really is how this place is ... but I don't think I'll be back for a bit. Sonic Drive-in is a good place to get any sweet tooth satisfied! They have a great selection of ice creams mixed with all sorts of different surprises and slushes plus they also have great burgers! They usually do a new shake once a month of a different flavor. They're not too expensive and when I order a large, I actually get a large!! The only complaints I have is their app. Twice now I have gone to Sonic Drive-in and tried to place my order on the app. If you use the app you can get your shake or slushes 1/2 off any time of the day, otherwise you have to wait until after 2:00 pm and you only get slushes half off. I went through the whole process of placing my order and when I went to pay, it stated the app wasn't working at this time! I was very frustrated! Another time I went there, their credit card machine was down so they weren't accepting credit cards, now I don't know about most people, but I know a LOT of people that just use they're debit cards for everything! Again, very frustrating! They also need help at this drive-in. There's barely any staff and a constant sign of help wanted up! So if anyone is looking for a job, you know where to apply!! read more
