The eggs were scrambled so hard that that they had brown areas on them. The toast had no butter and I had to ask for butter and the country ham was so thin and so highly salted. I tried to add some ketchup to the ham to cut the salt but it didn't work. I should have asked for a warm cup of water maybe so that I could get the salt off. I couldn't cut the ham with a fork. Asked for a knife. It was a sharp knife and I still couldn't cut it. The folks working there were nice enough but the food was awful.

The cashier told us to wait to order so she could finish wiping down trays first, so we stood there about 5 minutes and watched her. We thought about just leaving but were too hungry to do so. The bathroom was abysmal, I felt like I needed a shower after spending 30 seconds in there. I gave an extra star because the food wasn't bad. We waited probably 10 minutes for our order. The fries were hot and seasoned well. My burger was just okay, but about what I expected from an A&W. We certainly would not return to this location if we are back in the area. You could tell the chef took real pride in her work and smiled so sweetly when we told her how incredible it was; nothing felt rushed or ordinary. It was one of those meals where you slow down just to enjoy it a little longer. What really made it special, though, was the people. The owner came over, sat and chatted like old friends, and made us feel completely at home. At one point, she and her husband even stepped outside to show us his latest treasure--a classic old Dodge Prospector he'd just picked up, full of character just like the place itself. Between the incredible calzone and the genuine hospitality, Murphy's Dam Pizza easily earns the title: best calzones ever.
