The cone is made out of something like a croissant. It's not bad but it's not really practical. It's not possible to hold this cone so it's placed in a cup and then that cup is placed in another cup. So it's really hard to eat the cone part and the ice cream melted so much because of the heat so it was just a big mess. Random note, I now like almond slices on ice cream. Never really cared for putting nuts on food before, but it has a really nice crunch. It was clean with music that wasn't too loud and room to sit down and enjoy our treat. If you are getting one of the cones you need to eat it there otherwise it will be completely melted by the time you get where ever you're going.

I am writing to formally report a very disappointing experience at your location and to request that this matter be reviewed by corporate management. During my visit, I initially placed an order at the outdoor kiosk. I had a promotional offer for a free sandwich with a $1 purchase and was informed that I would need to place an online order in order to receive the promotion. I understood and planned to complete that order separately. I then placed my regular food order and waited approximately 45 minutes before receiving it. During this time, I was outside with my six-year-old child and my nine-month-old baby. It was extremely hot, and there were no fans running. Whether the fans were not functioning or simply were not being used, the conditions were very uncomfortable, particularly with young children present. What was especially frustrating was that two additional families arrived after us, placed their orders at the kiosk, and received their food before we received ours, despite the fact that we had already been waiting for approximately 45 minutes. When our food finally arrived, the order was incorrect. When I brought the mistake to the employees' attention, the response was not professional. We were met with eye-rolling and an attitude rather than an apology or an effort to provide appropriate customer service. The incorrect food was taken back, but we then had to wait an additional 15 minutes for a child's burger. While we were eating, I decided to place the online order so I could receive the promotional sandwich. That order consisted of only two items: a burger and a small chicken ranch wrap. Despite being such a small order, we waited another 45 minutes and still had not received our food. The excessive wait times, incorrect order, lack of communication, uncomfortable temperature inside the restaurant, and unprofessional attitude from the employees made this an extremely frustrating experience. I understand that restaurants can become busy and that mistakes can happen; however, the combination of these issues went far beyond what I would consider reasonable customer service. I am particularly concerned about the lack of urgency shown by the staff and the apparent lack of effective management during this visit. I believe this location would benefit from additional management oversight, employee training, and a review of its procedures for handling kiosk and online orders. I am asking corporate management to please investigate what occurred during my visit and address these concerns with the appropriate management team. Customers should not have to wait nearly an hour--or longer--for simple orders while receiving little communication and an unprofessional response from employees. I hope this complaint is taken seriously and that steps are taken to prevent other customers, particularly families with young children, from experiencing the same treatment. read more

A couple of people were in the dining room finishing their meals, but no one was waiting to order. I almost began to order via the kiosk, but then I asked a staff person if she could take my order. She said yes and began taking the order. The first thing to notice are that the prices are higher than expected. I also think I may have been overcharged for the burger, but I may be misremembering the prices. A single patty ShackBurger costs $7.49 (see receipt). I also ordered a seasonal Mango Passionaide drink with popping boba and an order of onion rings. I ordered the meal to-go. During the order process, the person taking the order couldn't figure out where in the order system to add onion rings. She had to call someone over. The fries were front and center, but the onion rings were buried somewhere deep. He added the onion rings. This person had to come over a second time to modify the order a second time to add boba. All told, the meal including a single patty burger, onion rings and drink cost almost $20! How was the meal, you ask? Average. The burger was of an average size sold at almost every other burger place, except White Castle. The burger reminded me most of a Wendy's single in size and in flavor, including the square patty. The bun wasn't any better than any other bun. The onion rings were also of average quality. They were probably frozen. Considering the rings order cost nearly $5 for maybe 8 rings, they are definitely not worth that price. Though, they didn't charge me for dipping sauces. The ShakeSauce is basically a combination of mayo, ketchup and possibly a small bit of mustard. It's very thick. I also ordered BBQ sauce. I dipped using the ShakeSauce as this sauce is quite good. As for the seasonal Mango Passionaide with boba, it was probably the best thing I ordered. It is fairly sweet and strong lemonade, tasting of Mango. The popping boba added a sourness to the drink as well. Though, this "small" drink (maybe 12 ounces) cost $4.49 + 99¢ for the boba, a total of $5.48 for the drink. Expensive for a flavored lemonade. Was the order accurate? Mostly. The burger, onion rings and drink arrived as ordered. However, I also ordered both BBQ and ShakeSauce for the onion rings. I only received the BBQ sauce. I had to go back inside to request the ShakeSauce for dipping. The packing of the to-go order is top notch, with a sturdy cardboard tray that fits perfectly inside of their bag. This protects the food from being squished when carrying it around. That packaging doesn't justify an extra $10, though. Would I go back? No, not at these prices. There are well enough equivalent burger places offering cheaper meal deal combos, providing the same quality and quantity of food for under or near $10. I'm willing to try new places once, but there is nothing that the Shake Shack offers that is worth double the prices of other fast food places. What could improve? Clearly, the prices. Also, what's with that Brooklyn Shackmeister Ale sign when they clearly don't carry alcoholic beverages?
