This is not my Usual SONIC location but I came here before my appointment in the New Orleans area. I was a bit scared using my mobile app because I did not see it pop up on the screen. Sometimes the mobile app is faster and sometimes it's much much slower. In this instant it was nice and perfect to use at this location. I order a small mozzarella sticks with a pretzel twist. The lady who came out to give me my food was so sweet and also had extra cheese and marinara sauce waiting for me, without even having to ask. This location is clean and nice. Been to Sonic's many times on the west coast. Very first time in the southeast. This Sonic does not vary from the rest. Location is very convenient as it was just next door to my hotel. Food is also standard, one of the few places that offers tots! I also liked their many drink options! I'm old school, but what caught my eye was the blue raspberry with Nerds! Last time I had Nerds was at least 10 years ago! Service was ok, but prompt. Placed my order and came out under 10 minutes. Server was nice and polite. Gave her cash, but no change given. I checked into Sonic on Yelp after I got back to my hotel. For those unfamiliar with Sonic, there's a 10% discount *must mention when ordering, doesn't work through mobile pay or order ahead. After a long debate about what I would eat for today I was really craving sonic! I hadn't been here in years honestly so I just spontaneously felt the urge to go. After looking at the menu I decided on the #12 combo (chicken tender bites(???), tater tots + cheese, and a sprite no ice) and mozzarella sticks. It didn't take long at all for the food to get to my car. Maybe a total of 3 minutes after ordering. I must say I was kinda disappointed. I LOVE their cheese tots, but half of the tots didn't even have cheese. That sucks. Then I moved on to the chicken, which was supposed to be essentially drenched in buffalo sauce. Even after I vigorously shook the container, there was barely any sauce on (yet again) half the wings. Probably only 2 whole bites had been fully coated. Then I move on to my drink so I can calm down the spicy flavors in my mouth. Low and behold, it has ice (aka less drink) then it isn't even filled all the way. A ocean water, Diet Coke with vanilla, ched R peppers, and a cheese tot! We waited about 20 minutes and I decided to check on the food! She told me to repeat the whole order cause the system "crashed" okay no problem. Then around 5 minutes later the food comes! The ocean water was completely flat and had no taste. The Diet Coke had no vanilla, the cheese tot barely had any cheese and they didn't bring any ranch to go with the peppers. They also forgot a fork! This used to be the best Sonic in the city. But for over a year now it is the worst. Have tried to order their advertised specials, only to be told they are out of it. Pretzel sticks, small drink cups, even a certain sauce for a special sandwich! And that is if they bother to answer when you press the red button to order! I have driven away on more than one occasion because they didn't answer the button. Yes I have even tried more than one stall in case the button was broken. Literally the worst sonic experience ever! Got a cake batter shake & it was filled with m&ms. Like why would that even be in there?

Sonic food is standard fast food fare. Nothing spectacular about it, nothing especially terrible. In fact, I really like their selection of drinks and ice cream. On occasion, you can still find a "carhop" that delivers your food on skates. The problem with this Sonic in not the food. It is the lack of it. The last three times I have been to this Sonic, I left without getting my order. I ordered standard items the first two times and after 20 minutes we left. Then most recent visit, we ordered ice cream, nothing special. After 24 minutes of waiting, we left. I cannot tell you how it would have tasted, I can't tell you about the carhop service. All I can tell you is that the person taking the ordered seemed to understand what we wanted, they gave us a price that seemed consistent with what we ordered, then, the items must have disappeared into a black hole on the way to our vehicle. There is nothing more aggravating that disappointing a kid who wanted ice cream, and twice this Sonic has failed to deliver. So this is my first review on yelp. I usually only use this app to locate good restaurants but thought I would share my experience at this particular sonic. To start off I was sitting there waiting at the table for about 20 min for someone to take my order. I was staying at a hotel right behind it and walked over. When no one would take my order I asked if the order station was broken to one of the employees. She ran past me and just said " we are busy." I worked at a fast food restaurant back in my teen years so I understand how crazy it can be, but this was rediculous. I pushed the button again and finally someone answered then took my order. She was very rude and I could tell by the tone of her voice she was annoyed. So when I finally get my 2 drinks I walk back over to the hotel and suddenly realize when I get to the room that they didn't even give us the right drink but still charged us extra. I asked for a Fanta with vanilla creme in it and all they gave us was a regular Fanta. I spent 30 min waiting for 2 drinks and didn't even revive the correct order on one of them. We visit this sonic sometimes for their happy hour drink specials. The drinks are usually mixed pretty well. We stopped by for dinner tonight, and though we just drove away with our food, I am already let down. Firstly, their credit card machines are down, so cash only tonight. Not really their fault, so that isn't why the stars aren't full. It's because I had my heart set on some hot onion rings, and they were sold out. Ordered tater tots with my meal instead, hubby got fries, and as soon as we had the bag I took one of each, and neither was hot nor were the tots crispy. They seem to have come out of a food warming bin, slightly warm and a bit soft, and this surprised me because they were actually busy. I figured food was turning over, but I guess not. When we got home, my husband's order of a regular sonic burger meal included a junior burger. We had ordered two junior burgers for our kids, so maybe they were on a roll and decided even though we paid for a regular burger, the small one would be easier to manage. SO small. And my ultimate chicken sandwich was a mess. Limp lettuce and soggy chicken. So, if you're out for a bubbly beverage, this spot might be good, but be warned that food is hit or miss. I tried again after my friends were successfully placing orders but I was told the same thing. Before they hung up I asked whether would he take my order I was told in 10 minutes.
