I ordered several dishes and all of them cooked perfectly. I've been a professional chef for 21 years. And a cook for even longer. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants a long the way that have simple comfort food gone wrong. These simple recipes were made with love and no mistakes. Every dish every bite done right. Even the Desserts were great. And the fact that this community also built this place by hand, it had this comforting rustic feel to it. Customer service was absolutely great. Every server was Super friendly and courteous. 5 stars all around for the wooden spoon.

I have heard high reviews of this place so decided to drive an hour to try it out. I rarely give 5…read morestar reviews but this place deserves it. First off is the atmosphere. Very Southern and quaint. A Victorian type building with lots of character. You can eat inside at the bar or in one of the small dining rooms. Or sit outside in the lovely outdoor garden area. The staff was friendly and attentive. Now the food...everything from the soup to the chicken tenders were handmade. That tomato was to die for! So rich and creamy! Beautifully seasoned and rich in flavors! The chicken tenders were like small chicken cutlets hand breaded and fried to a golden perfection. It even comes with homemade honey mustard which is amazing on its own! We also tried the blackberry bacon and jalapeño sandwich...what? Wow! I cant even describe just how amazing, yet simple this sandwich was! Lastly we got the Park House club. Grilled and loaded with meats and cheeses! So scrumptious! We will definitely go back and can't try more of their menu!

We've had oysters and robots and fried catfish and chicken stripe and it's all really really great!!!! All of their proteins they really do a great job on! Not really thrilled about any basic food items that come from a wholesale food distributors like Sysco or Ben E. Keith... I would prefer a hand dipped and breaded cheese stick. Sysco's are at every single restaurant it seems... I was hoping these were homemade. No dice. But they still fried them correctly and they tasted like they do everywhere. And I wish they had a few more healthier side items. They have green beans, but they taste like they are from a can and not seasoned very well. I would love to see collard greens, broccoli salad, carrot salad, broccoli casserole, squash, zucchini, rice casserole, or even a baked potato...I was sad they didn't have baked potatoes. Lol. I mean...there are a LOT of side ideas you can get just from a church potluck cookbook! Lol... That's really my only dig. I'd love more sides that are truly authentic southern sides that you'd see at a southern church potluck dinner.

Examples: Even though we were obvious college football fans (wearing jerseys!), they seated us at a stuck-in-the-corner booth where all TVs were hard to see and some were impossible, in the completely-empty restaurant. There a hand-full of GREAT college football games going on at the time; their TVs were showing just one game on almost every TV (and it wasn't Arkansas). We requested a couple of other games, and it was like putting them on was extremely difficult. Also, everyone's beers were flat. Not totally flat, but well on the way to it. Everything took a long time. And nobody ever asked if we'd like another drink. It wasn't all bad. My chicken nachos were really good, and I would order them again. My wife said her Southwest Egg Rolls were good (but not as good as Chili's). My dark beer had really good taste (in spite of being flat). I'm generously giving 4 stars because it's a little unfair to judge a place called Big Whiskey's without drinking any whiskey. I hope they make it. This place has a lot of potential, it just needs better management.
