You walk into the restaurant and the employees stand in the back and don't even acknowledge you. You have to stand there for a solid 10+ min to get served . Then they act surprised when they see you standing there. It's like do the employees not check the dining area for customers ?! Very rude cashiers. Food tastes good. Last time my husband went to the drive through to order food they gave us regular fries instead of bacon cheese fries as requested. He ordered 2 large drinks and they gave us 2 medium drinks and charged my husband for the large drinks. The cashier tossed our food and drinks at my husband and he looked in the bag and told the cashier that drinks are supposed to be larges not medium and the fries are supposed to be bacon cheese fries not regular fries. 2020 11-12 Ordered the Jumbo chicken (small) when they were on promotion for $0.99. I ordered in the app and drove to the only Sonic location in town. Once I arrived, I attempted to check-in via the app which said I wasn't close enough to a location to check-in. I was in stall #3, which is the closest to the entry of the store! After several refreshes and reloads I just pushed the stall button and said I was here for a mobile order. I was the only car in the parking lot and must have been the only mobile order as they said they'd be right out. After receiving my order I noticed I received only 1 correct kind of dipping sauce so I hit the buzzer again and asked for a correction. A different attendant brought out the replacements and asked, with a very annoyed tone, if I needed any additional sauces. No, just what I ordered would be fine but apparently whomever packaged my order is incapable of reading or made an honest error which should be corrected without making me feel like I'm on my 7th unreasonable request for a dipping sauce. I so asked then 2nd attendent if he considered my orders filled normally and he said, "yes, that's considered a "full order." I've attached pictures and you can decide if the portions are "filled." There were about 2 "Jumbo" pieces in each box and the rest were fingernail size, all mostly breading. Alright this sonic is not all that horrible but it is. I've gone here a few times and the biggest problem is there speed. My dead grandmother can knit a water jacket before sonic will get my order to my car and that's going through the drive through don't even get me goin on there booths or whatever you call them. But that being said when I do get my order rarely is it messed up. But I also don't order much else but a single meal and that's it from what I've heard when you order more than one meal they tend to have some sort of error and can't get it right. But none the less the sonic isn't all that bad. Certainly lots of room for improvement tho read more

I know I shouldn't expect much out of a sonic, but when you're craving a cherry limeade Fargo is pretty limited. First of all, the open businesses are supposed to be wearing masks. We drive up the car hop. Which is playing music and advertisements per usual. We press the call button and receive a pre-recorded message indicating they are not offering this service and to go to the drive through then come back with your food to eat. ??? okay ??? We jump in line where there are four cars ahead of us and just as many in the other lane. Line moves at an appropriate speeds we get up for our turn and silence. After 7 minutes, we are finally greeted only to be told to again wait. We wait for 5 more minutes and the order, pull around to the other side and not one single car is in queue. We get up to the window and the gentleman's mask is under his chin. I am immunodeficient and immediately open my window and face away. I don't understand how it takes 15 minutes to make one ice cream. Every time we come here it takes 15-20 minutes to receive one or two ice cream items. Even if there is no one else in line and six employees working. This has to be the worst managed place in Fargo. read more

Website says they are open until 11 pm but when we tried to order for pickup here at 9:30 pm it said temporarily unavailable. Tried calling to see if they are open and no one answered because they are closed. Don't say your open until 11pm and then close earlier. If they are short staffed the owner/store manager should be working extra to keep the store open or change their store hours online. read more

Stopped at Sonic for an early lunch around 11:15am and witnessed the struggle bus. When we pulled up to the window the girl asked is what we ordered and we told her. She looks in the bag she's holding, looks at us, and looks back and the bag and hands it to us. It was not ours. Well after she gave it to us she can't take it back so thanks for the free burrito. We wait a little bit and they ask if we ordered a shake. No we did not. We wait a bit more and they hand us our food. I am from AZ and quite familiar with Sonic. I was so excited when Fargo finally got one. We've been to the Sonic in Fargo probably six or so times and each time ends up being worse than the last. I've finally got to a point where enough is enough. It was a special day for my little dude and we were trying to have a quick fun drink. Well, I could tell that this was not going to be a quick drink. We parked facing the interior. I could see that the staff was slow and didn't care. We went at 3:20pm and there was, probably, eight other cars there. One of our favorite things, when we visit my family in AZ, is getting fun drinks at Sonics. So we decided to get a couple of drinks where we ordered two small cream slushes. I love a good lemon berry cream slush and he loves anything with Nerds. One of the biggest issues I have with Sonic is that they have gone so cheap. They used to use real fruit. Now it's all artificial and you have to pay extra for real fruit. Everything is so pumped full of syrup flavoring that the drinks are not very tasty. Now the biggest issue, it took almost 20 minutes to get the two drinks and one of them wasn't even right. I watched the screen show the status of the order and watched it move really quickly through and then saw that it was on the way. Well, I had to wait another 10 minutes from that moment to when we actually got it. It's easy to see that the cooks are bumping orders to keep their times on the mark. 20 minutes for two drinks. When they finally do provide the drinks, the staff has no emotion and when asked why it took so long, they said they were really busy. Again, there were probably 8 other people there so I would hate to see what this place is like when they are actually busy. Again, the hop couldn't care less about the wait and offered a very insincere apology. Having to wait for really crappy service for a couple of drinks is low on my priority list. There are so many other places I can go to so I will choose to no longer go here. read more

Solidly meh Update 5/16/15...I originally included a photo of one of two tables taken up by idle employees playing on their phones seated at tables while customers waited for tables. He asked me to remove the photo and threatened some bogus legal action. I took it off mainly because I feel sorry that he did not see the customer service problem of taking up tables on his break while the customers (who keep the restaurant open )waited for tables to eat the food they purchased in the restaurant. After a back and forth with this individual, my original review was reinforced by his belief that there is nothing wrong with the mantra "the customer is obviously wrong when I'm on break". If he is still employed at this restaurant, I wish management luck keeping this place above water. If that's an ideal reinforced by management at this restaurant, I suspect that this location won't last long in Fargo. I give the food a 2.5 but why bother to go for mediocre food when this is customer service. read more

It truly does pain me to have to write this review, but it must be done. Ever since my sister took my wife and I to our very first Sonic Drive-In, more than eight years ago down in Kansas City, we've been longing for the day when Fargo might get one. When it was finally announced that we would be getting a Sonic, we were overjoyed! Truthfully, had we known that what we would be getting is what we currently have, I could have waited another eight years for them to get it right. This place is an embarrassment to Sonic Drive-Ins across the country! They were not prepared in the slightest when they first opened, but the owner wanted to open when they said they were going to, despite the fact that they were severely understaffed, the employees that they did have were not well trained, and the place was still not physically completed until more than a month after they opened! This set them up for failure right off the bat, but things haven't improved there since Day 1! My wife and I waited more than a week after they had opened (thinking that things would be better, rather than experiencing a chaotic scene the first week), and I kind of wished we would've waited even longer than that. We went there around 3:00 in the afternoon, thinking it wouldn't be that busy, but we were wrong! They still had a wonky way of getting there (think two back roads with a couple of detour signs), and they were still sorely understaffed to meet their needs! After we had ordered our food, it took them nearly 20 minutes to bring it out to us, and my wife's Chocolate Cherry Coke had a good 1" of chocolate syrup on the bottom of the cup; disgusting! Best part: We both got food poisoning later that evening! I was gun shy about eating here again, but my wife convinced me to give it another try a couple of months later, so I did. This time, I decided to go through their drive-thru. When I got to the window to pay for my food, it sounded (and looked) like a rave party was going on inside! The young woman who took my money apologized for the noise (she must have seen the look on my face), and gave me our food. My wife's drink still had a lot of chocolate syrup in it, but not nearly as much as before; that's a good sign! I had a New York Dog with sauerkraut and grilled onions. Everything tasted ok (it did before, too), but when I went to brush my teeth about an hour later, I discovered that my entire tongue, and most of my teeth, were black! It's like someone had broke an ink pen in my mouth! The next morning, I wasn't feeling the greatest, but I still went into work and just had a stomachache the rest of the day. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.". What happens when I get fooled a third time? If the last two times there have taught me anything, I'm guessing a trip to the hospital! Pass on this place, and go experience Sonic at a location elsewhere from this one! read more

This location does not offer a military discount. All other Sonics that I've been to in other states give the discount, but not this one for whatever reason. In addition, they had slow service, our burgers were just warm at best, and the lady who took our order had an attitude. At the Sonic in Fargo, I ordered at the drive-thru and then realized I left my wallet at home! Embarrassed, I pulled up to let them know, apologize, and drive away. The manager told me to wait and said the meal would be free... that this kind of thing happens. Wow. Terrible location. I came to sonic hoping to enjoy one of their iconic slushies, the drive through was too long because they had one lane closed off for whatever reason so I pulled up to the drive up. I was then told they shut it down for the day so I could only go inside to order or the drive through. Then I went inside and they then told us they're closing off the lobby, when I asked why they said they're short staffed. I have visited this Sonic on multiple occasions. Every time I've been, the ice cream machine is broken, they are out of ice cream, or the shakes come out as mostly vanilla ice cream and are so thick they're undrinkable. They also didn't have marinara sauce and didn't tell me ahead of time, so I had no dipping sauce for my mozzarella sticks. Will not be visiting again. read more
