First Sonic visit of my life. Came to sample the new summer "Big Dill" menu. I tried the Picklerita Slush and Pickle-Seasoned Tots. My husband had the Big Dill Double & Triple Sonic Smasher burger, and my stepson had Chicken Tenders, Groovy Fries, and the pickle slush as well. We were all pretty happy with everything. The Picklerita was the biggest hit for its novelty, but it was a little more limey than dill and quite sweet with the added boba. Mmmmmm Sonic! It's been a minute since I've been, however, I love the drink selection...the burgers aren't bad either.

This was the WORST food I've ever had at a Sonic Drive Inn. The service is usually okay, I mean, it's fast food but there was so much that went wrong with this order I don't know how they can stay in business. I used the mobile app to order some onion rings and frito chili wraps. When I arrived, I was informed they were out of onion rings but they came to my car and asked me what I'd take instead: I tried the broccoli cheddar tots. It wasn't much longer and I got my food. The tots were hot and for the first 5 or 10, they were okay but then it was too overwhelming. I don't know why I even tried them. I ended up throwing half of them away. The wraps were horrible. They didn't have any fritos in them and they were mushy. I sent a complaint to the company and said I'd like my money back. We enjoy going to Sonic to kind of "get out of the house" these days -- COVID, man -- and probably go once or twice a month. My favorite things to order here are the pretzel (I skip the cheese dip) and any flavor slush. Just today I tried a fresh banana shake after watching a "Keith Eats Everything" video on youtube. Things I'm not crazy about are their potato products and Sonic cheeseburger. I'll review these below! Pretzel * do yourself a dang favor and go get one of these. Do you love soft pretzels or are you a soulless shell of a human being? These are probably my favorite thing on the menu. The pretzel comes in a lil State-Fair-esque paper bag and is a pair long, twisted rods of dough. It has a respectable amount of salt and a delicious sweet aftertaste. I don't like the cheese sauce because to me it's straight salt and fake cheese, but my husband likes the cheese. Do what you will with this info. But get the dang pretzel. Slush * I've gotten different flavors each time we go. The only bad thing about these is that I feel guilty for the styrofoam cups that Sonic uses. The slushes I've tried have all been great. Lemon, strawberry lemonade, I think I had a blue one?, lime, you get the idea. Yummmmm. I always get a brain freeze from these, you've been warned. Fresh Banana Shake * Right. I haaaaate fake banana flavoring. But after I watched the video I mentioned, I learned that Sonic blends a banana into the vanilla ice cream. I was hesitant because WHAT IF Minnesota Sonic is different from California Sonic and they gave me a fake banana shake???? My fears were soon gone as I tried to suction chunks of banana through the straw. Really really good. I'd get it without the cherry and whipped cream on top next time! Here are my gripes about Sonic: their potato stuff is never crisp. I am consistently disappointed by soggy, bad-tasting fries and tots. You'd think I'd learn! But no. I give potatoes endless amounts of chances. The Sonic cheeseburger I got could've been from McD's, or anywhere really, and it seemed like it was missing ketchup. Is that right? One last note is that we've only really gone during the pandemic and it's not always the fastest service. Buuuut you can't really hold them to that, and the people working there have always been kind to us. I'd recommend Sonic for slushes, ice cream, and pretzels. Ice Cream Slushes! After 8pm they have 1/2 off ice cream slushes (shakes & floats too) which are my favorite. Can't beat a medium ice cream slushy for $2 & some change. This special is available for a limited time I believe. I ordered the Bahama mama ice cream slushy & it was delicious! With the ice cream it isn't too sweet. Bahama mama is a seasonal/limited time flavor. Very tropical flavor. My mom got a real fruit strawberry shake which she said was good. We went ordered via the drive thru vs. the drive in. Service was prompt & fairly fast. They weren't busy at all. In the past I have ordered sides like fries, cheesecurds, onion rings here but I'm not wild about the food & I stick to the slushy drinks. Getting here is weird. You have to turn down an alley road to get to the restaurant. I often turn too soon & end up in the abandoned restaurants parking lot next door (on Central) which has no outlet. Lol. read more

We sat for 20 minutes before we could even place our order. The worker could not understand put order and we had to repeat everything we ordered multiple times. Disappointing. Showed up to get some ice cream and the place must have closed early that night for some reason. All the signs and online said open till 10 pm but we arrived at 9:30 and the place looked very shut down. We tried pulling up to order at the drive up and no one answered. So we drove around to the drive thru and there was a girl worker standing right by the window we tried to ask her if the restaurant was still open but she completely ignored us. I get bags of ice a few times a week, and about 6pm today they gave my husband bags 1/2 full of powder and fist sized rocks of frozen solid ice. I don't know how that could happen unless they stored it in a walk-in freezer or something, where it froze solid, and then they beat it with something to try and break it up. read more

My roommate and I needed to get out of the house, and we both like Sonic's chili cheese tots. We decided to make the trek to this location, hoping it was a cleaner, better-managed store than the one closer to home. We were encouraged by the signs at the drive-thru about the precautions that were taking for Covid-19, until we actually got to the window to pick up our food. Despite what was claimed in the signs, no one was wearing masks, and they were not keeping any sort of social distance from each other. It really is not all that much trouble to wear a dang mask, and it is being shown time and again that doing so can cut down the transmission the virus dramatically. We don't wear masks to protect ourselves- they protect other people from us. I don't care if your whole crew is "healthy." Asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic transmission of the virus is a problem, and this store was doing nothing to protect their employees or their customers. Not cool. read more

This location is trash. The service is a hit or a complete miss. It used to be fine but my last few experiences were awful. Everything from getting water down shakes to getting orders wrong. I've resort to only going here for Limeades but they even screw up the flavors sometimes. BE AWARE OF YOUR SAFETY at this Sonic. Ordered on the App and it took 45 mins for me to get my food once arrived. I was on time with the scheduled time on the app order. Finally got my food, and advised the young black kid at the window that the food felt cold and there wasn't any reason to have to wait that long for a pre-paid order. I departed and then this kid came running out to my car from the inside of the building. I had to stop, so as not to run him over, and then he tried to get in my car from the window and fight me. I told him to get out of my personal space and I was feeling very threatened. He asked what I was going to do. I said I would remove him from my car if he didn't remove himself, at which point he stated he was calling the police. I parked and motioned for the store mgr to come out. She did and advised this associate to go back in the building. He refused. She advised him to go back in the building 2 more times, and he refused both times. We went around the corner and spoke for another 15mins about my experience. She got her Regional Mgr on the phone, and he didn't seem to care that much. He definitely didn't act surprised by my experience. I was told I could call back another day and speak with him if I wanted. Proper service has obviously taken a seat in the trunk. First, the Regional Manager wasn't going to follow up with me, but I would have to call him to follow up? Secondly, a verbal apology was thought of as just compensation for my wasted time, cold food, and an associate threatening me while also climbing into my car. My food was remade, but only after I stated that it was cold. I won't be back. Sonic is a complete circus and now you can get serve a side of threats from its employees. You must have to input notes stating you will pay extra for proper service since they now charge you for everything there: water, shakes with multiple flavors, mayo, mustard, relish, pickles, onions, etc. read more

Not all of the digital menus in each stall are working, so you may need to switch stalls if you pull in and park. There is a long wait to place your order and get the food. Once you receive your order the food is delicious and the burgers are juicy and flavorful. The tots are seasoned perfectly and the onion rings are a good choice as well. This was my first time at this Sonic location and it made me happy knowing the location closest to me their service is spot on. read more

On a business trip near Minny, I got really excited when I was driving down Central and saw a Sonic's! I told my co-worker we had to go there for dessert after dinner. I know there are a few of these located in southern California, but they're a bit far from L.A. and I just simply had never been to one. I was too full from dinner so I just ordered a hazelnut java chiller. It was pretty good but I guess I was expecting more. My fried asked for a sandwich with no mayo with cheese but got a sandwich with mayo and nacho cheese. Who the hell puts nacho cheese on a sandwich? This location is always slow but tonight was a whole new level. We ordered a slushie and a mixer through the app after not getting an answer for 15 minutes on the drive up. We checked in. After about 20 minutes, it told us that someone was on the way with our order. Another 15 minutes passed and no one came. I walked up to the location to talk to someone because it had already been 55 minutes since we arrived and 40 minutes since we ordered (2 drinks, that's it...). I spoke to one of the employees and told him how long I had been waiting. He said "that's nothing" and walked back inside. There was another woman standing outside and she said that she had been waiting for an hour and 45 minutes for her chicken tender meal. She said that they were turning people away in the drive through telling them that they were closing although it was still over an hour before the closing time that was listed. As I waited outside the store, I watched the seven employees inside letting around talking to one another. After another 15 minutes, I was brought my drinks. There was no apology for the delay, just handed them and shut the door in my face. I'm extremely disappointed. The liston was not exceptionally busy, they looked well-staffed. We have always liked sonic but now are rethinking about coming back after this experience. read more
