Pulling up to order at the stall, it took a minute, then they told us to just pull thru the drive thru. So we went, the girl that was taking our order sounded so sweet, she didn't give attitude or anything. We got our drinks and snacks with no tone or negativity. So we decided to go again in the drive thru and order a cheeseburger with customizations, different girl, but she still was nice. It does take them a bit to make the food, but it was pretty good; hot and fresh. However while we were waiting, it did seem other customers were upset while we were there. This location is probably one of the worst in Bakersfield. Line is always way too long and the wait is super long as well. The current manager never wants to speak to a customer and never comes out to address concerns or anything. I went and ordered a drink once at around 9 pm. It was a slushie and when I was pulling out, I took a sip. No taste at all and it was a strawberry one but like no flavor no sweetness. I went back immediately and was like, can this be remade or can I get a refund? Apparently, this Sonic according to store policy, does NOT do refunds or exchanges and I was immediately told no and then they left me waiting at the speaker! I waited there for about 15 minutes (yes there was a long line behind me) before I figured they cut it off and pulled up. Cashier who was not the lady remade me another drink and I was on my way. The usual Sonic drive through stereotype is true all the speakers to order from suck and I actually think it's funny and it's makes it a part of Sonic honestly! It's been that way for as long as I can remember and in no way is that a complaint. Lets get to the good stuff now. Over the years I've had a lot of different items. My favorite being the Double Sonic Smasher. Their chili cheese dogs and chili cheese tots and fries are also great! But I highly recommend the breakfast burritos. These drinks are awesome I always get the cherry limeade but you can mix any flavor with the limeade. The sonic blasts and sundaes are real good. I only have one issue and it may not even become anything. When I got here I pulled into a stall that didn't have a screen and card swiper working. The lady came out with our food and notified us the machine didn't take our payment and she was super nice in letting us know. So she said I'm gonna go run it inside. And I didn't think much of it until I began over thinking it. If you know what I mean now I'm checking my bank statements and making sure no unauthorized charges are being made. This location disappoints! Go to the one on Ming. First, the boss refused to give out ice- even a cup. What's the difference if I paid for a soda and dumped it out for the ice? Like let me pay for it. The employees felt bad, but have to follow bosses orders. Then they got little pieces of what I believe to be Reese's in my orange creamsicle. 1st of all they have rude employees. I placed my order and had to repeated myself like five times. I thought to myself it's ok it's a new employee, but when I got to the window, she was so rude when I said hi. they got my whole order wrong. Sonic is one of my favorites whenever Im in town visiting family especially since there are none near where I live. I always get a cherry slushy with nerds before I get on the freeway and head back to LA. November 2nd around 11 pm I ordered only two slushees. I took a sip of my slushy and Immediately tasted disappointment. It had hardly any cherry flavor or nerds. I asked my sister to check her drink and sadly It was exactly the same. It's like they only adding 1 pump of cherry flavor at the very bottom so we attempted to mix it but it didn't help much. Normally, when I come to the sonic service is pretty good but today I put in an order for a small Coke and a cheeseburger at 6:45 PM. On Friday, May 10th I placed a mobile order simply for mozzarella sticks, nothing else, this was placed at 8:10 PM. When I went to the stall number 4 to check in, the staff told me that it would be out shortly as they just dropped them. Considering that they might be busy I waited patiently, but at 8:24 PM I checked in again just to remind. Once it was 8:32 PM I just decided to leave since it was clear it wasn't coming anytime soon. I understand how busy it could possibly be but there occasionally no one in the drive thru and hardly anyone around me. On top of that, I tried to call to let them know that I wanted to cancel/refund the order but the number listed in both google and the app is no longer in service. Wow. The behavior of the staff my partner and I experienced tonight SERIOUSLY needs to be called out by whoever runs this Sonic. Whoever was closing the night of August 2nd was an African American male, and (I think) a white female on the heavy side wearing a red collared shirt who unfortunately is probably a manager and SHOULDNT be, so insanely f***ing rude. My partner and I came at 11:30pm, 30 mins before closing and only ordered 2 drinks and a sandwich at one of the stalls. The man brought them out and I said thank you, to which we realized one of the drinks was wrong after he walked off. My partner got a blueberry lavender lemonade and they brought us a normal lemonade, wrong. No big deal. So I pressed the red button again and KINDLY said we ordered a blueberry lavender lemonade and received the wrong drink. He immediately said "that's the drink you have. Goodnight." And hung up before I could say any more. So I pressed the button again, and they turned it off to not speak with me. He couldn't have been more wrong??? We clearly got a lemonade??! There's a clear color and taste difference.. I couldn't believe that he said that because we are PAYING CUSTOMERS, it is the BARE MINIMUM to receive the right order we PAID for. So I got out my car, walked over to the building and saw the white female in the red shirt and KINDLY waved to get her attention. She didn't care and just yelled "we're closed"... IT WAS 11:45??? I'll be honest I haven't been to Sonic in a long time and was looking forward to going there when I was in Bakersfield. I pulled up and into the ordering spot and looked at the menu. Their prices are kind of high and their value menu is kind of a joke. I literally scanned the menu and thought to myself the only that looks worth it, are their shakes. So I actually drove off to go eat somewhere else. But I did decide to come back and get a shake. I ended up getting their Reese's and Oreo shake. I did enjoy it and was able to use their half off promotion so I only paid around $3 for it. That was definitely worth it and I would go back for it but that's about it. read more

What happened to the menu? I have to admit, I haven't eaten at Sonic or any fast food place in a while, but the last time I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich, it came with lettuce AND tomato. Imagine my disappointment when I got home, and all it had was PICKLES, a tiny piece of wilted lettuce, and NO TOMATO! That was an expensive chicken sandwich with nothing on it! I also ordered one of their chocolate shakes, and couldn't even taste the chocolate! Seems they raised the prices on everything, but skimped on the quality.
