I'm going to be honest, I've never been the biggest fan of Sonic, but this location might have changed my mind! We were doing some grocery shopping nearby but wanted a quick snack. We saw they had a banana pudding milkshake, so I had to go get it. On their value menu they had a baja chicken wrap and a jr bacon cheeseburger, and of course a side of fries. We ordered in their outdoor parking stalls, and the food was brought out to us within 5 minutes. Now for the food, I was pleasantly surprised and how good their fries were. Super hot, fresh crunchy crinkle fries, paired with their buffalo sauce and jalapeno ranch, two must get sauces here. The burger had a bit too much mustard for me, as it ended being the primary flavor profile but for $2 it did what it needed to do. The wrap was low key surprising how good it was, would definitely order again. For the banana pudding shake, I thought it was pretty good but don't think I'd order it again. Sonic's drink menu is so extensive that it's really hard to pick just one but I think I'll stick with standard flavors of milkshakes or one of their slushies, especially on a hot day. read more

I just left a different Sonic as they were very pushy and rude and drove to the next one. The girl working the drive at 3:35pm 11/29 was very kind and I didn't feel rushed to order which was much appreciated. She was very kind and patient. read more

Once again, I had a really disappointing experience at THIS location. I genuinely enjoy Sonic, but the management at this location seriously needs improvement. The customer service was poor, the employees had a negative attitude, and my mobile order was missing 3-4 items. When I brought it up, it felt like they were blaming us instead of taking responsibility. On top of that, the wait time was extremely long. This isn't the first time I've had issues here, which is frustrating because I actually like Sonic. read more

My friend payed with tap and the manager came out saying she didn't pay and made her pay again. Just lame. And they didn't make her blast like advertised. They also made my other friend's dirty soda too thick and creamy. It was basically white. read more

First off, the woman on the speaker sounded rude. The guy that took over after rushed us to come to the window without us knowing what we EVEN WANTED. It would've been nice to look at a damn menu before having to drive up. I don't understand what the rush is when there WAS NO ONE ELSE IN THE DRIVE THRU BUT US. Incredibly unprofessional. Just shut this location down if you can't hire people who actually want to work. Where's my god damn chicken?! Is that a damn nugget?! I paid $30 for a mess. A 2" patty in the crispy chicken sandwich meal that runs over $13.00 is insane. Should've just gone to Foster Freeze or the Sonic in Turlock. Absolute hot garbage. read more

I've been to a number of different Sonic locations. This one, unfortunately, is the worse one. Constantly forgetting items. Food not worth the price paid. Even if you order ahead, they make you wait an extended amount of time for your order. Should do the town a favor and shut it down. Turn it into another gas station or a Wienerschnitzel or something. read more

Wanted a smash burger it was just like a double cheeseburger it tasted like it was cooked on an old grill. No sauce on it. The burger and cheese was halfway off the bun the box it was in had more on it then my burger did and the It took 20mins was so disappointed the burger wasn't SMASHED AT ALL!!! read more

Most of the time food is excellent. Sometimes they mess of an item or two but it happens.

I made my order on the app. My item was made incorrectly. I went back and asked for it to be remade. The customer service was just okay.

man imma just say this right now check your food before you eat it! my wife just took my kids to go get some grilled cheese sandwiches, couple chili dogs, and some mozzarella sticks, and there was a very long strain of hair in my daughters mozzarella sticks. it'll be the last time I take my family to the Atwater location read more

I decided to come and eat at Sonic's tonight, simply because I forgot to take something out for dinner. So anyways, I make my order and it takes them close to 10 mins to get me my change back to me and another 7 to get me my food... this place is a joke they talk and play around to much behind the counter,. I got old food that has been sitting under the heating lamp for god knows how long. The food was nasty the service was horrible I won't be coming back to this sonic ever again read more

Using the app is always convenient unless it's Sonic. If there ever is an issue the stars always says," We can't help, we have no control over the app." This afternoon, I accidentally placed my order to the Merced location. I brought it up to the manger thinking they would honor the order that was already paid for and they said my options were 1. Go pick it up in Merced. 2. Reorder at this location and pay again. On top of that the only way to cancel my order is to call the Merced location that has not picked up after MULTIPLE attempts at calling. I have accidentally placed an order at a different location with other companies like Starbucks and the correct location always honors the order with proof of purchase. I just think this is poor customer service and is very disappointing with this company. read more

Ordered chili cheese fries they said we would have to wait 10 mins for it cause they dropped the chili and then came back 1 min later and gave me this so I'm assuming they just gave me the burnt scrapings from the bottom of the pot instead making more chili like they said they were going to. There's almost no chili on it and the chili that is is just burnt chunks of meat read more

Worst Sonic ever terrible service especially drive through it takes about 20 minutes per car get your order even taken food was not good food is always cold they need new management and they need more help or hire people who have experience in fast food I don't recommend this Sonic drive in my fries were ice cold read more

Horrible! Would give 0 stars if possible! Used the mobile app to pre-order and speed up the wait time... didn't work. App said to be there by 3:27, got there at 3:25. Still waited until 3:40pm for my order (3 ice cream blasts). When she finally came out with my order she went to the wrong stall, and I had to waive her down and tell her I'm pretty sure that my order... then she didn't think to bring a drink carrier so when she handed me my first drink, I asked for one since I had 3 drinks..... except the lid wasn't on all the way so it got ALL OVER MY CAR!!! I had to go straight to a car wash to use their vacuums to try to pick everything up before the chocolate melted onto my center console and passenger seat!! By the time I got home, the Ice Cream blasts were melted. After waiting a few more minutes (not sure why it took so long) She finally brought me a drink carrier which would have avoided all of this bullsh*t! She did say sorry but didn't seem to truly care or understand the magnitude of the mess she created by not using her common sense! Tried calling to speak to a manager. Phone keeps wringing and no one ever answers!'!! WILL NEVER RETURN to the Atwater location!!! read more

I love this location! The employees are so wonderful! I am always met with friendliness and fun conversation. I love getting a huuuge soda from here. It brightens up my day. Sonic has the best fountain drinks. The soda is always crisp and never flat. I love the fun flavors. I've gotten food a couple times before and it was always really hot and fresh. Try the app! I haven't been disappointed yet and I've been coming to this location for 10 years! read more

I ordered one hamburger and tots as soon as I took it out of the bag I knew something was wrong because it was shaped like a football. I am assuming it was used as one too and thrown against the floor before making it into the bag. The guy at the window was clearly annoyed from the get so between the service and the abuse the food must be put through I do not recommend. read more

Last night I ordered a large shake and a medium cherry lime aid. The server brought a small shake.I let her know that it was a large and I showed her the receipt. She said ok walked back with the two drinks and 10 min later walked back out and said we refunded your money of 4.29. For the large shake. We need to charge you 7.29 for a large shake. I asked why she said that's how much it cost I said no I already paid for a large shake I don't want a route 44 shake which was the price. She requested. She said o you wanted a large I said yes for the second time. Then she looked at me like I was confused one. Asked for the lime aid that I already paid for and she said you still want that. I said did you refund me for that she said no then yes I would like my drink that I paid for. The whole thing took 25 min. read more

Went here after a bowling tourny that was up the road. Pulled into a very clean parking spot and pu in our order to a very friendly taker. A little hard to do so due to the music played in their speakers...very loud. My daughter ordered the popcorn chicken combo with tots and I got the chili dog combo with tots as well. Normally, I order a grilled chicken sanwiches but thought I would try something else. A very short time later our server came out with a perfect order and was apologizing for the length of time we waited..truth be told, I didn't think it took all that long! Fodd was good and hot but in the future I think I will stick with the grilled chicken sand. I think you get a little better quality food. As usual, the service is nothing but polite and friendly and I always leave happy that I stopped. Keep it up Sonic!! read more

This is probably one of the better fast food places in the area, although they carry many common fast food items like hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and fries, they are one of the only places around that sells tater tots and foot long chili dogs. The drink and dessert menu are also both on point here, they have their own version of a blizzard or McFlurry that can can be made with a wide variety of candies and sweet stuff. They also have many custom options that can be made with their sodas, I don't know of anywhere else that I can get a chocolate cherry Dr. Pepper or a vanilla grape Sprite. read more

Started coming here this past month 4 times and the wait times were long, i did see a sign that they are hiring so maybe they are short handed and the reason why for long wait times. I dont know who manages or owns this location but this sonic looks ghetto and in badly need of landscaping!, bushes are long and jn need of trimming badly, on one side you got the last parking spot occupied with leaves and cut up twigs. Also the building is in need of touch ups on the stucco and there are weeds growing by the exit door and by the menu speaker, the speaker sucks and needs to be fixed or replaced badly. when i pulled up i honestly thought this sonic was closed down because it just looks unkept. I live in oakdale but work in atwater so i think i will just skip this location after reading the bad reviews here and start going to the one in turlock on my drive home from work. read more

They are either not serving ice cream or not serving hot food! It's sonic! How can you not be serving ice cream or hot food 2 hours before closing? It's probably because they close everything down so they can leave early. Customer service is rude and they seem like they have no idea what they are doing! Very disappointing. Every time me and my family go there the people working are clueless and seem like it's their first day every single time. read more

Not Only is this location slow with producing meals and drinks but they are also inefficient. I ordered a simple cherry limeade slush but in return got in water down light strawberry water slush. Yeah it was only $2 but that's not the point I literally waited 20 minutes for watered down coloring juice which is disgusting that's exactly what it taste like. This isn't the 1st time it has happened to me but it will definitely be the last! read more

Pretty cheap, good deals, and friendly service overall. This being my first drive-in/Sonic experience, I was only a bit disappointed that the car hops don't come out with your food on roller-skates (where did I hear that before?!). Oh well, still a pretty fun experience regardless! My one gripe is that the menu is so high up, it's like the spaces are all built for SUVs and trucks, not small sedans. The driver has to crane his neck to see the menu, while the rest of us in the car have a heck of a time even seeing the menu at all. I don't really see what the difference is between going thru a drive-thru and parking in the parking lot afterwards, but maybe it's just the novelty of the experience, and less gas consumed. ;) I got the grilled chicken wrap with tater tots and a lime cream slushie, all for just a few pennies over $6. Pretty good deal for a very filling and pretty tasty meal! read more
