Visited the Sonic on Moreland Ave for the first time and this was my experience. The food was cold, the burger was overcooked and thrown together, and overall the quality was disappointing. Wow...this place has some bad reviews!! Despite seeing them, it is the closest Sonic to me and well, Cherry Limeade. IYKYK, am I right? I had to put on a brave face and go into the storm... I pulled in expecting horrible service and broken ordering stalls. It wasn't super busy, but busy enough. I hit the red order button, fully expecting it not to work. To my surprise, a voice greeted me on the other side to get my order. I ordered a limeade and a burger. I was given my total, and I thought surely the credit card thing won't work and they'll have to come get my card, go inside, it'll be some racket. Once again, shocked, it worked! A few minutes later, my order was delivered and correct. Service was good, staff wasn't overly friendly nor rude, just doing their job. No complaints from me! read more

Stopped by Sonic and you can definitely tell they are EXTREMELY busy--but I have to say, the team is really doing their best to keep things moving and stay positive through it all. You can see the effort and hard work, and it doesn't go unnoticed! The skater carhop is a MUST see! She's fast, efficient, and literally gliding from car to car at top speed making sure everyone gets their orders. Super impressive to watch and still so friendly while doing it. Overall, great energy from the staff despite the rush. They're working hard and keeping a good attitude, which makes the experience better. Definitely appreciate the hustle! read more

I hate writing reviews like this. It would be a better situation if I had actually gotten my food. I've eaten a lot of fast food, and 20 years ago, when Sonic arrived in my mid-Atlantic hometown, there was a cry of joy that came up from amongst the people. My brothers and I would scarf their snacks in preference to other competing resturaunts in the niche. It really is a fun place, with the retro style ordering panels, the old-timey food style, and the colorful marketing. I've eaten at Sonic many, many times in the past two decades. Don't get me started on the limeades. They are, of course delicious. But boy howdy, is this location ever riding the struggle bus. I arrived during the later portion of the dinner rush on a Friday. There were maybe five cars in the drive through, so hey, how bad could it be? It was obvious from the tones of voice and facial expressions that the lead car was ordering for like 20 people, and once we got around to the delivery window, there was obvious confusion in the kitchen visible from outside. The cars began to stack up to about 30 deep, and some began to leave. I had ordered two drinks and after waiting maybe 20 minutes in line for this disaster to clear up, I left without paying. This is the first time I've ever abandoned a drive through after ordering. I had no choice, my kids could not manage it. Sonic food is fun, but it needs to be fast to be a good value. It's clear from the experience that this location is either understaffed or undertrained. Tip one - if you've got a really complex order, stay away from the drive-through and use the order panels, or even better use the app. It's kind of self-centered, and others will get mad at you. The kitchen will not be able to handle it, I'm sorry to say. Tip two - go to another location until they get this mess cleaned up. read more

Lets face it, its fast food, you are not expecting a Micheline star experience. Every time I go here there is something amiss. Whether it is items that are not available from the menu (frequently do not have Sprite Zero to make diet limeade) or I didn't get bacon on my burger, or no condiments in the bag, or only 1 small slice of tomato on my burger, or the drive-in is closed and have to do drive through. Its always something. I usually am able to get the issue resolved, but I shouldn't have had the issue in the first place. The tots as a side are good and crispy, and they do have more variety of drinks than most fast food, but this location cant totally recommend... read more

I went at 10am to get breakfast and I can accept it being busy. Drive thru was kind of slow I can accept that. I ordered 2 toaster sandwiches and 2 tots and total came to 11.29. Paid 20.59 got my change checked the bag one total missing and no receipt. I went to door and told them and they asked do I have receipt I said no and they were gonna ring up and charge. I asked did I get charged for 2tots and they said no but I think otherwise. This Sonic is on my route to and from work. It is nice to stop for a 1/2 beverage in the afternoon. Recently the service was extremely slow and poor. The order box was in such bad shape that the associate could not be understood. Once at the window, there was still a wait. My beverage was passed to me but the tater tots were not ready. Once the tots were passed to the window associate she accidentally drop the order. Then another order had to be prepared. I will not be stopping here anymore. On a previous order I received the wrong beverage and did not notice until further away from the restaurant. read more

I hit the walk up call button by the tables outside. After 16 minutes of waiting for someone to even answer the intercom I finally caught someone's attention through the window. Even though the call button had been blinking "red button activated. We'll be with you soon," the employee told me to drive around. When I pointed out that I'd already been waiting 15 minutes and he was telling me to get in the back of the line he simply repeated "drive around" and CLOSED THE DOOR IN MY FACE. Other customers waiting near me saw this and left without ordering. If walk up isn't available then PUT UP A SIGN. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. This Sonic Drive In is slow and has terrible customer service. Waiting over 20 minutes with no update for 3 milkshakes and 2 corn dogs is ridiculous. Worst Sonic ever!! Do not go, the staff's customer service is piss poor. We arrived at 10:20 on Wednesday and were greeted with "were closed" when the website clearly states that the location closes at 11:00pm. We pulled around to let the know we'd driven about 30 min to eat and Keanna closed and locked the window on us stating that they had taken their last car. I know I'm likely to get crap for this, but I really wasn't impressed. After hearing about Sonic for years from friends and having to suffer through their ridiculous commercials, I was pretty stoked to get my hands on some of their goodies today, my virgin pilgrimage to the chain. Maybe it's because I'm not a big tots fan (I know, more blasphemy) but I just don't see the appeal. My chicken wrap was alright, but nothing better than what I could get at Wendy's or any typical fast food joint. My strawberry limeade was undrinkable: way too saccharine with a super-chemical taste. Definitely not a fan. Service was quick and I suppose the drive-in concept is cool, but the driver is really the only person who gets any benefit of the drive-in vs. drive-through concept. I used to eat at Sonic regularly in Texas, never had a bad experience. Not quite as on point as Chik-Fil-A but damn close. This Sonic, it's like no different than a McDonald's, Arby's or BK. Just totally hit or miss, the only thing for sure is something will be f*ed up or just off. The food is not all that good to begin with, and always guessing what is going to be messed up, not worth it at all. If you want a coney dog or fries that bad, go to Zesto, far better option. The slushies, idk, go to QT and get creative. Sonic just sucks. read more

This was the second time I showed up at 9 trying to get a quick bite before a movie but they were closed.

First of all they say they open at 7 am until 12 am. LIE!...I have been there at 8:45 am to buy something and was not open. I called at 10:00 am to see if they was open and the manager was very rude and hung up on me. This use to be a great place to eat but I have notice it has become a playground for the employees and manager. Just saying you need better ppl working at this Sonic or it will eventually close down. I have visited this location at least 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Each time I order the same small shake. Each time they got it wrong!!!! It's a strawberry cheesecake shake. I order it and they bring or give me a strawberry shake. I've had to send each one back. The last time I just drank it. Watching the people work is even worse. Everyone seems lost and confused. I have never been to a Sonics until this day. Ordered the #4 bacon cheeseburger toaster with fries and strawberry unsweetened tea and #11 chicken dinner with 3 piece chicken tenders and tots. The toaster was cold, it tasted like day old toasted bread. The fries are nothing to rave about but that drink was absolutely amazing. The strawberry pieces that came with every gulp of the unsweetened tea was absolutely delish and perfectly refreshing in this Atlanta heat. The chicken dinner- chicken tenders tasted like microwaved chicken tenders but the tots were good. All in all, just like the sonic commercials you come here for their drinks. I plan on coming back for their happy hour slush fest. One thing about this location is that everything is slow including the drive thru. Wait time per car is about 10min or more. That's the time you wait when you actually get to the window. There was a sign that stated it would take 4min or less but maybe things have increased due to covid. read more

Best service from a sonic I have ever had! There was a young lady here taking orders who came outside to see what I was looking at help me order the perfect slushy. I was so appreciative of that extra step. My food was delivered very hot and as ordered quickly. And I like the new screen upgrade which h shows exactly what you ordered. Good job! read more

I have only been to this Sonic once. The service was so slow I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon. We went here late on a Friday night for some Sonic Blasts. The place was busy yes, but really how long can it take to make a couple of milk shakes? We waited forever to order, and then once we ordered waited for at least 20 minutes to get our shakes. We were not the only ones who felt the wait was long. There was a motorcycle gang waiting across from us who were clearly getting agitated with the wait times. I don't know about you, but if I worked at Sonic keeping my motorcycle gang customers happy would be a top priority. It has been a long time since I have been to a drive-in. Tragic! Was given a cold burger and asked for a fresh one....it never came! I asked for my money back and at this point it has been 25 mins of waiting for the burger/refund with no follow up. Most of the staff are talking on cell phones and coming outside to eat their own food! I'm down for kids working but please place a responsible adult at this location. read more

Where do I start? We pull into the drive thru at 10:30 pm and ordered a sonic blast and a diet cherry limeade. That's it. I have to reiterate my order to the worker three times and he still couldn't hear me through the mic. He also made it sound like it was my fault that he couldn't hear me through the drive thru. He had to walk out side to take my order and never apologized for the inconvenience. We also waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes. Needless to say we will NOT be back.
