Less than an hour away from Brno you are transported into wine territory. South Moravia has excellent white wines. I took a train and walked 30 minutes to this vineyard. Note there is not much shade in this area and Popice is a sleepy town, but it a great day trip. In the distance you can see the lake and hills. Many cyclists if you can find a rental is a great way to visit multiple wineries.
This is the larger of the local vineyards. A great deck to enjoy your samples at reasonable prices. I enjoyed the young/fresh bottles; muscat and plava. Both have a unique herbal finish, which has grown on me. First time for a dry reisling. Also tried the sauvignon. I prefer the later two with a meal.
Some snacks for purchase so I suggest bringing a picnic. A few restaurants near the train station, but according to Google most serve dinner only. read more
