None of those places could match A&S, who were basically giving me the market rate for Australian currency. The rate for New Zealand currency was also very competitive. They require showing ID and accept cash only. The person behind the window was meticulous with counting out the money. He was also knowledgeable about different methods of payment countries accept. As we continued the transaction, he became more friendly and welcoming, sharing about his experience visiting Australia many years ago. This policy is absurd, as in British currency the smallest note value is £5--there isn't a way to avoid receiving coins when breaking notes for £1 and £2 denominations as bank notes for these values do not exist.
