The way I took was a 45 minutes to an hour (eek!) hike from a parking lot off Camí d'Alfurí where I parked my rental scooter. It was a long walk! To say "I wasn't prepared," is an understatement. Mostly up hill, sandy, rocky, and mixed amounts of shade. But all that aside, it was soo worth it!
When I arrived at Cala del Pilar there was a staircase down the rocky terrain to the sandy beach featuring deep turquoise and blue waters framed by rich red walls. All that and less than twenty people to share it with! PERFECT! Apparently the red mud near the stairs is actually used by many folks as a mask treatment. I soaked up some sun and dipped my toes in the perfect waters while snapping some pictures. It was totally worth the journey for some quiet time away from the more crowded beaches. I would def do it again!
The walk back was far easier physically, but mentally you just don't want to go!
