The word zoo conjures up in my mind the expectation of the opportunity to see a plethora of unusual animals from all corners of the globe. On this occasion I was in for a disappointment. Given this is situated on a tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea they can probably be forgiven for their rather lacklustre collection of wildlife but still, with the odd exception this is basically a farm. Nevertheless it's a good day out if you have young children. You can get up close and personal with most of the animals and the staff put on a decent display with the collection of birds of prey. After a couple of hours you will have seen everything they have to offer, but as most visitors here seem to be arriving on tour buses with other places to go that probably doesn't matter read more
