This is tough...but the quantity of two earthly beings, humans and jellyfish, make the beaches in this area questionable. Just watch the wind--if it blows in this direction, head to the other side of this paradise island! read more
Cala Galdana was conveniently located near Audax which meant I spent quite a bit of time here during our say. It was gorgeous! The water was so very blue! An surrounding the cove were tall white cliffs topping with greenery and little whitewashed homes. This beach was slightly more family oriented than I was expecting. Which meant unless it was very early in the day or later in the evening it was fairly crowded. Let's discuss the nudity, now for an American like myself it was very strange because many adults were at least half nude soaking up some sun or playing in the water with young children around. But hey, when in Spain! I proceeded to rent a chair and sun shade on the beach. Now this is where I knock off a star, the chair rental and umbrella were a little pricey for my tastes! But when you're on vacay you try to not dwell on such expenditures.

During a recent trip (August 2019) to Menorca, we visited this beach based on good reviews on other sites and it's inclusion in various top 10 lists for Menorca beaches. It looks nice from a distance, and the setting is nice, but the water smelled funky and was more murky than clear. We saw a few small stingrays in the water, which salvaged the outing, but the other beach we went to (Sou Bon) was far superior. read more
