After a visit to three of the big chains we drove by Mattress Warehouse of Tampa Bay and decided to stop in. My friend saved almost $700 on THE EXACT SAME MATTRESS that we had just seen an hour earlier! The sales woman (Jenifer... I was skeptical and thought that the furniture would be really poor quality, but it was actually decent and the price was impressive. My wife and I went to this store (Carrollwood location) last night (2/15/26 at approx 7pm) and had…read morea very strange and uncomfortable experience with the salesperson on duty. We were shopping for beds and taking several minutes trying them out. After showing us a few mattresses, we weren't finding any that we loved. All of a sudden, the salesman stated "Ok, bye, have a good one" in a totally dismissive manner. He did not say this in a friendly tone and immediately walked away from us and sat down at a desk, completely ignoring us until we left the store. My wife and I were very confused by his behavior since we had been friendly toward him during the entire visit. His statement was extremely sudden, rude, and out-of-line, ending any chance of us purchasing a bed there. I don't write many reviews but wanted to share the experience we had. We will never go back to this store and don't recommend it to anyone. I selected one star for the review of this business but it deserves a zero.

But do know that after you buy the mattress, you are no longer a possible commission and the customer service is none existent. We went in after we bought out mattress and pillows to see if we could exchange a pillow in the box, with all paperwork, in the plastic wrap (slightly open), and they refused to even look at the pillow. We were quickly turned away and told the pillows were not refundable and there was nothing we could do. If I was to just buy the new pillow, it was $209. The pillow I bought was thrown in at $1 due to buying a mattress. So yeah.... Don't expect much from the store once you're no longer a possible commission. No sympathy, no "im sorry", no care at all.

I have been working with Jim for years, and from the first time I met him, he has always been incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about all the products you offer. He provides great, straightforward advice and is very transparent and fair when it comes to pricing. Jim is the best in the business. Whenever I have a question or need anything, he is always quick to respond, whether it's help with warranty issues, quotes for appliances, or recommendations--be it via calls, emails, or texts. He consistently goes above and beyond expectations. I recommend him to all my clients in real estate. Most recently, he answered numerous questions and assisted me in purchasing the Café Series range of my dreams. He also helped me connect with Premier Installation, who provided exceptional customer service. When it turned out that my electrician had installed the wrong outlet, Charlie from Premier Services Installation came out on a Saturday morning, to change it for a reasonable fee--because Jim had asked if he could help me out so I wouldn't be without a stove over Labor Day weekend. I am so grateful to have met Jim and to have so many wonderful appliances from Famous thanks to him.

This company is genuinely committed to the customer experience and being the best in the business. The training program is thorough and interactive. It's not something you can skip, and I understand why; they've invested a lot in ensuring their employees are trained enough to be considered "experts" in this industry. At Mattress Firm, you can count on being greeted by someone who really knows their stuff. In this age of information overload, it can be frustrating to sort through all the fakes and phonies when shopping. If you're like me, confused about who to trust and want to complement your research with the advice of an expert, I highly recommend you come to the store. Try out a few beds. You owe it to yourself to discover what a great night's sleep truly feels like. Yes, I am a Mattress Firm employee, but above all, I am a person. I've been fed up with the way many companies choose to operate today. I've felt this way for a while... But this company, Mattress Firm, feels different! It has an old-school, customer-first approach that comes from the top down. I'm sharing this because I look for genuine reviews when I shop. Honestly, I don't think I've seen one from an employee who outright says they work there. So, I'm here to share my experience and offer a genuine insight into what you can expect at Mattress Firm. I hope it helps! If nothing else, come in and see for yourself. At the very least, you'll leave feeling satisfied and informed. And if not, please leave a review to share your experience and what you didn't like. I'm always looking for ways to improve and learn from others. My name is AJ and I work at the Walter's Crossing location, tucked away by the Target, Petsmart, CVS, and Burlington. Mention my name! I'd love to know if this review helped you in any way. Peace!
