Fresh eggs from a nearby farm were only $3 a dozen and found in a cooler in an adjoining room; that's a real bargain with grocery prices rising. I bought a blue and white speckled crock missing it's handle for $2 and a beautiful tablecloth for $5. Lots of pricier items, too, if that's your thing.

It's owned by a Scottish fellow and his wife, so they went with a really fun Scottish theme & tartan everywhere...although small, it's definitely a cheerier version of the standard antique mall with dreary stalls. Debra is incredibly friendly and welcoming! On my visit, I only found a few little treasures I couldn't leave without, but they are still in the early days and adding new vendors. Of course prices and items varied by stall, but the quality was great overall (so much neat stuff!) and prices seemed fair, especially on home furnishings. I will definitely add Tartan Traders to my rotation for secondhand shopping trips!

It's cute on the outside and doesn't really look like a thrift store but fits in more with Route 66 nostalgia of the area. Once inside, it's about the size of a roomy two car garage or perhaps the family room in a large private home. Not a lot to see, really. They have pretty dated merchandise and pricing is a simple scheme where almost every item is the same price. So with that, you can find some amazing deals and then a lot of things that are not quite worth the price. It's a wash, really. I saw an ad for this store in a local magazine and I think my expectations were a bit too high going in. It's not bad. Currently they're open Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, so hurry over if you're not a Baxter Springs resident and want to check it out. I think they're open most (if not all) weekdays, too.

It is a favorite of mine and my husband's and because it's only open…read more(currently) the FIRST Saturday of each month (in addition to most weekdays I think...probably best to call ahead and find out) we plan any trip to SEK around St. Mary's Goodwill's open Saturday weekends. It's that good. Seriously. VERY clean and well organized thrift store and what they sometimes lack in selection is more than made up for by the friendly service and low prices. I have never walked out of here empty handed and have shopped here on and off since I was a teenager (20 years ago). It is a well run store and the larger stores and secondhand chains could take a lot of tips from them, to be honest! When you walk in there's a dry erase board posted straight ahead with the day's sales on it and they are always a very good variety and offer extra value. I highly recommend this place. It is not hard to find, either. Just a block east of Broadway and a block west of St. Mary's Colgan school in downtown Pittsburg.

I'm pretty sure they're beating Goodwill too. $3 jewelry, $1 books & movies, most clothes $5 or less. They also have tons of neat little home decor bits that are well worth it. A few things were a bit overpriced but that's to be expected. Not everyone can know the original price of everything. Honestly, it's a REALLY good store. I hope that it will be packed with a lot more stuff next time we come! I'd love to spend an hour or two digging around. Go check it out!

I did…read morea quick sweep of all departments though and feel that I have a decent grasp of their selection and prices. I feel most items are priced higher than what is typical, but they truly do have a nice range of items here and a generally good condition of merchandise. It seems like a consignment shop worth checking out more in the future (and possibly an updated review to reflect the findings of that).
