It's owned by a Scottish fellow and his wife, so they went with a really fun Scottish theme & tartan everywhere...although small, it's definitely a cheerier version of the standard antique mall with dreary stalls. Debra is incredibly friendly and welcoming! On my visit, I only found a few little treasures I couldn't leave without, but they are still in the early days and adding new vendors. Of course prices and items varied by stall, but the quality was great overall (so much neat stuff!) and prices seemed fair, especially on home furnishings. I will definitely add Tartan Traders to my rotation for secondhand shopping trips!

There are a few stinkers when it comes to the booths but most of them are great. The prices are pretty much in line with the current market for thrift, though they certainly don't make me jump for joy. Several of the vendors also sell AI-generated crap, which I believe should be banned at all antique malls across the entire world. The service was fine, nothing super crazy. They said hello to us when we came in and goodbye when we left, which I really appreciated! If you're relatively young and sort of odd, you know the type of looks you get from old folks at antique malls, but nothing super bad. Overall, a cool spot to check out. The prices could use a little tweaking down but I was otherwise pretty happy!

While it was very fun to browse and the woman at the counter was nice and talkative, I don't think the booths are organized or clean enough for the prices a lot of them are charging. I saw a package of Coca-Cola stickers for $9.99! One package! That's just too much. There are definitely some good deals but you REALLY have to be willing to hunt. Some of the booths literally just have crap piled on the floor. And watch out! If you break it, you buy it! Even if it was teetering atop a pile of dusty baskets and baby dolls! I do think it's worth it to stop in just for the sheer enjoyment of looking inside. Just be warned that you're unlikely to be able to look at everything safely. I do want to mention - I LOVE that they have shopping baskets! Every antique mall should provide these and so few do!

I have no idea how they check to make sure everyone is out of the building at the end of the day. There were lots of flea markety items, used clothing, collectibles, tools, furniture and more. It's cute on the outside and doesn't really look like a thrift store but fits in more with Route 66 nostalgia of the area. Once inside, it's about the size of a roomy two car garage or perhaps the family room in a large private home. Not a lot to see, really. They have pretty dated merchandise and pricing is a simple scheme where almost every item is the same price. So with that, you can find some amazing deals and then a lot of things that are not quite worth the price. It's a wash, really. I saw an ad for this store in a local magazine and I think my expectations were a bit too high going in. It's not bad. Currently they're open Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, so hurry over if you're not a Baxter Springs resident and want to check it out. I think they're open most (if not all) weekdays, too.
