Marci was highly recommended by a friend of mine, and I was so happy that - not only is she awesome - the salon is also a lovely place with adorable style, and the other professionals who are part of the team are also great! I'd highly recommend Marci and her awesome team at Ravin' Salon. This little treasure of a place is kind of tucked away in a corner, but you will be so happy you found it (parking is easy and convenient, too, which is a nice plus.)

Then, when I asked why she said "gotta be honest, I'm not really a fade person. But we have a person who is better with fades." So then that other stylist was supposed to put some finishing touches, but instead lobbed off a ton of hair and made me look like Delmar from Soggy Bottom Boys. Not flattering at all. The one star is for the fact that all the people there were very nice. Otherwise, this was unethical for them to even try if they didn't think they could do it. If you are a guy, I would not recommend going here for a cut.

Oh yes, she does this. Gold that is gold, not glitter? Uh huh, yep, she does it. Designs? Easy peasy. I wanted something a bit weird for me--totally normal and easy for her. Lori will take the time to explain to you in plain terms why boxed color is unreliable or why X treatment or service or cut will or won't give you the desired results...yet won't pass a word of judgement when you play kitchen beautician and screw it up rather than pay her to get it done right the 1st time. (not saying I've done this...on multiple occasions) She's an amazing stylist and colorist. Warm, funny, completely professional. Time in her chair is like a great visit with an old friend...one that happens to have incredible talent with some shears. I don't trust anyone else to cut my hair. Ever. While I have not had the pleasure of stepping into the new space, I still see her when she brings her special brand of hair love to Norfolk, Va. If you are looking for someone who will take the time to listen and cater to your needs, Lori is your girl. She is worth far more than what she charges. You will not be disappointed.
