She went to the back and got my friends shoes in her size and sat there to make sure they fit and talked to her about the fit any everything. She was super caring and kind. However, when we got to the register the people behind the counter looked super stressed (I get it. Tax free weekend sucks) and we're very rude and rushing us. I've worked retail before, tax free weekend sucks but you're supposed to make the customer feel welcomed and be more helpful. Practically yelling "we don't have that" and making the customer feel stupid for asking is ridiculous. Only reason this place had 2 stars is because of the woman that helped us in the beginning.

I had called inquiring about the process of returning an item and receiving cash back as my girlfriend was at work and she needed it done. When on the phone, and after explaining the situation, the male associate, or whomever, only told me "Yes" and then hung up the phone on me. Afterwards I came into the store and to my disappointment they would NOT allow me to return the item that was purchased just 2 days prior and receive cash -- why? They NOW decide to tell me the documents required to do the return rather than tell me on the phone-- wasting an hour of my life driving both to and from this location. I'll happily update this review with the NAME of the associate if I ever have to return to this store.

I was looking for an item that they did not have in stock and they hunted it down at another location for me. They had also offered to order it for me. The customer service has always been spot on. Great selection of trendy sneakers. The store is very inviting when you first enter with the walls lined with sneakers and boots. A few knapsacks were also for sale. I like how they have it broken down for men, woman, and children. I asked to speak with a manager but there was not an actual, per title, manager on duty, however, an employee attempted to assist. She was on her cell phone WITH an actual, by title, manager. There was no relaying of updates, continued to walk away while on the phone speaking solely in Spanish and after waiting for 20 minutes, I asked if I could speak with the manager who was on the phone. The request was refused and I was advised per the employee "she is off today". Much to this employee's ignorance, I understand and speak Spanish and heard every condescending, rude, offensive and unprofessional remark made while on the phone. After 35 minutes of waiting for my online pick up order, I was handed the order. No apology, no explanation and no exit salutation. I had written some notes on the back of your mailing magazines and upon leaving, the employee said "Make sure you say Francis Aviles". I then asked her to write her name and title. Miss (and I am only using that prefix as it is proper and respectful- certainly NOT because she displayed professionalism OR respect) Aviles stated "I would've helped you but you were rude". I replied "This was an online pick up made a few days prior and it stated it was ready. I came to pick it up but I'm pressed for time as I need to get my children". She then stated "Don't try me lady! Don't try me!" three times. This is a manager in training who is speaking to customers in this manner? It was aggressive, insulting, disrespectful and incredibly offensive. Sadly, I will NO longer be shopping at Journey's and will explain my situation and non-appreciation for customers as demonstrated by MIT, Francis Aviles. The manager on the phone cowardly would not speak with me and this is the manager who is currently in training and chosen by this company to represent same. That is disheartening and shows the lack of customer appreciation.
