My adult daughter suffered a severe traumatic psychotic break and was hospitalized (involuntarily)…read morefor 7 days. She was about to be released and we needed to immediately find an Intensive Residential Treatment facility to transfer her to based on the advice of the attending psychiatrist at the hospital. All of this was new to us. Our daughter was still very much suffering, confused and in denial. In her altered state of mind at the time, she did not believe she was being helped (quite the opposite actually) and wanted to refuse any additional treatment. By the grace of God, we found A Mission for Micheal and in particular, Trey Napoli in Admissions. He quickly arranged for a smooth transition and in a matter of hours our daughter was on her way to AMFM. Every single day, her caring clinical team worked with my daughter on recovery. Every single day my daughter *chose* to stay another day (she could have left at any time). Today my daughter has transitioned to IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) and is continuing her recovery day by day. I am forever grateful to Trey and the staff in the Intensive Residential Program house (Blue Lantern House). It was very expensive at 54k for 45 days of intensive treatment but in my opinion, it has been worth our investment. I do not believe our daughter would be with us today if it weren't for this team of professionals. Our journey has not been without its bumps and AMFM is not perfect, but we are eternally grateful, as the things that really mattered were done extremely well. I highly recommend A Mission for Michael's Intensive Residential Treatment Program. Shout out to Stefanni G, our daughter's therapist. She was kind, caring, dedicated and always made time for us. Shout out to Yassi O, our daughter's case manager. She had a tough job! Shout out to Kelvin at the front desk. He was always kind, professional and extremely courteous towards us, even as our daughter thought she was "against us" during her altered state of mind. And shout out again to Trey Napoli, without whom none of this would have happened. Really and truly, thank you to all at AMFM. Your work is very much appreciated.

Expectations are often unclear or constantly changing, yet employees are still blamed for mistakes caused by poor leadership and disorganization. There is clear favoritism in how employees are treated, which creates an unfair and unhealthy work environment. Instead of taking responsibility, management often shifts blame onto staff, leading to low morale and lack of trust. HR was especially unhelpful. They rarely respond to messages, and in some cases, they block communication altogether. It feels like they support management rather than addressing employee concerns or providing real help. Overall, I would not recommend working here. The company needs serious improvement in communication, fairness, and professionalism.

I will say this, so far, it's going extremely well. The staff at my house is helpful and caring. They really go out of their way to make the people here feel comfortable & that in itself is truly appreciated, Esp bc I had serious fear and doubt about coming here at all. I've been pleasantly surprised at the level of care by the house staff. In particular.. April, Ivan, Tammy & Sutter have been a huge source of help in my treatment. I can talk to them about anything ( & I have had multiple meltdowns) & always receive a supporting conversation leaving me feeling very positive about the experience regardless of how uncomfortable I may be, feeling my feelings. Theo whom is my case manager is exceptional at his job. He is kind and very resourceful in all the aspects I ask of him. Like helping me with SDI, Doctor appointments and special requests- great listener and easy to talk to which is highly appreciated Brian my therapist is incredible at what he does. He is so well balanced calm and smart! I'm learning great EDMR & DBT Skills which have been a life saving tool in this process. Not using cannabis as a crutch was very difficult at first, I've used this for anxiety for a decade - Brian has truly helped me regulate my intense emotions through great breath work and other tools , Like EDMR Therapy . The counselors are lovely friendly and attentive , I truly have no complaints , I'm extremely committed to my healing so knowing these professionals care is very nice. I can really only speak from the mental health program which has been fantastic for me.. I put in a request to extend my stay because of the positive impact this is having for me. I attribute that to the people who work here completely. This review is from my personal experience. It has been a breath of fresh air for me. If you are struggling I would recommend trying this .

I was going to die staring at life through the bottom of a bottle. Turns out I was very wrong. Every staff member at casa played a part in my recovery and showing me that I was allowed to be taken care of and that I was worthy of love and compassion. They were able to help me uncover traumas and issues from my past, teaching me how to dig deep into the pain, be vulnerable, feel it, and let it go. They gave me all the tools I needed to lead a successful life full of purpose. On my day 60, I got word that the absolute most important person in my life was on life support back in Seattle. Something i NEVER imagined I could walk through sober. But I was able fly home and be there with my grandma when she took her last breath. Sober. I had mike and sandy constantly guiding me along the way on the phone, at all times of the day and night. Whenever I needed support. And when I got back to casa, I was embraced with love and support. I was in a safe place where I was allowed to be vulnerable and grieve in my own way with infinite support. Without writing a novel here, I'm just going to say that Casa recovery not only saved my life but helped me find my purpose, my why. They gave me and my family hope. Mike, Pat, Sandy, Kevin, Kristen, Krishna...every staff member all played a big part in my healing and my ability to grow and change and become unbroken. I'm a productive member of society now. I'm back to work, I have a car, I have a sponsor and I work the steps daily. I've been through death, back surgery, jail, house arrest, and more death. All in 10 months of sobriety. I owe that to the staff at casa. I couldn't have done it without them instilling their knowledge in me and giving me the tools. The staff is dedicated to each client and their individual needs. They care. They understand. They have compassion and so much love. They want us to succeed when we walk out the door. I still call them in times of struggle or doubt. They always answer. I will always hold a special place in my heart for casa recovery, and I would recommend this place to anybody out there struggling. You don't have to struggle anymore, there is a solution. These beautiful people will help you find it!

She didn't know or care to know my history with my mother, and was not on my side. I felt judged, misunderstood, and like I was in a way, forced to be there by my own parents when I needed medical treatment so desperately. I felt this place just took the money and agreed to helping me, only to be somewhat shady and odd once I got there. It was sad time for me. I felt mistreated. That is not how you treat anyone (especially a sick person). I felt some of the staff was mean, especially Kat, and just watched me 24/7. I felt uncomfortable most of the time. Upon my last week or so there, I got yelled at and mistreated by another client in one of the houses I lived at. She was mocking me and I told the operations manager about it. He came by the house and got everyone's story in the house besides mine. The next day, I was called in the office and admitted I engaged in reactive abuse, which is when we react to unfairness in ways we don't mean because I made a rude comment back to the girl. My therapist Brynn labeled this as "worse" even though the other client was low key violent prone, and I have proof of that, because she is aggressive and was making fists when talking to another girl in the group. They used my reaction (which if they were actually versed in psychology they would know WHY i reacted this way), to kick me out of the house (as if I started the beef with the other client, which I didn't). Without enough of a notice, I ended up being forced to go to a sober living (mind you, I do not even have an addiction problem), and ended up on the street. They did not care to check in with me, and I was at this program for 5 MONTHS. They should have been on my side, knowing that I was in an abusive relationship with my parents and were holding finances over my head (which is financial abuse). The night I was left on the street, I really thought I may die that night. Thank God I have the faith of a mustard seed, because I prayed harder than ever after 2 days of homelessness. I ended up finding a REAL therapist to talk to who moved me into her home that night (thank you Jesus). While I was living there, the owner of Casa called me and I shared my grievences with her. When I shared them, she strangely made rude comments about how shes sure I "have not and will not" find a better treatment center to live at, but I was living at one. One in which the women were supportive, the home owner was fair, we each had our chores to do and kept the house very clean. There wasn't drama that any of the girls could get away with. When you're vulnerable, at times, you need somoene to stick up for you. Especially at a rehabilitation center. I do not recommend this phony, "counseling" center that takes your money and doesn't know how to help sick people who are vulnerable!!!! By the grace of God, I ended up going to a better treatment center after this who ACTUALLY helped me get better. I'm very glad i'm alive, and no I do not recommend this place at all.

Covenant Hills and the staff there changed my life…read more.. I hit my absolute rock bottom and lost everything. I needed a miracle to change my life and the direction it was heading in and God put this facility with its staff there to do just that! Intake: Ken is the one that worked with my family to really get the ball rolling and my beautiful journey started. He was nothing but kind and caring when I showed up for admission oh so broken. He made my intake experience that should have been miserable actually bearable and even a little fun which really brought a glimmer of hope to the beginning of the path. Drivers: Shoutout to the entire driver team. Riley is the one who picked me up and drove me in to in patient and gave me some really powerful words of encouragement. Joel always had me and the rest of the guys laughing and really lightened up my experience there while providing some really good wisdom as well. Darren and Sniper Jim were great drivers who conducted themselves very professional and executed any all tasks flawlessly while also bringing some laughs along the way. House Management: Man these guys were all so wonderful and such blessings to have for the day to day stuff. I want to shoutout Aaron, Andrew, Justin and Colby. Every single one of these dudes were there for me at various parts along the way and each one of them went above and beyond to help me out. These are exactly the dudes you want handling the houses when you're going through treatment! Case Managers: The entire case management team was unreal. Mike, Jeremiah and of course my case manager Matt. Mike was such a sweet and caring dude but very deep. His groups really brought some great introspective thinking. Very bright dude who is great to pull aside and run things by. Jeremiah was the man since day 0!! This dude actually took the time to give me a tour of the facility two months before I ultimately came in. He was super kind and genuine but could really bring the heat when we needed it. This is a man passionate about what he does and is in it to genuinely help turn guys lives around. Which he had a big part in doing just that for me! Matt... You're one heck of a case manager man. There were some pivotal points of my recovery where I wanted to just be done and leave but you managed to steer me in the right direction and really stand in my corner. You were nothing but phenomenal from the beginning. You were constantly proactive. Anytime I needed something you were likely already on it and if not you addressed it and got it handled immediately. From start to finish you set me up for success and I can't thank you enough for that! Pastoral Staff: Tom, Eric and Bob I love you guys and am so grateful for the ways in which you have all guided me spiritually. Each one of you are such brilliant, inspirational and strong men. God is surely looking down upon you three and so proud of the work you do in changing so many men's lives for good. Pastor Tom - There simply aren't words to describe the impact that this man has had on my life. He was there for me constantly through the highs and lows. This man would take his time to get to know each and every man personally and really support them to the max. You can see the Holy Spirit in this man and it shows in all that he does. I wouldn't be the man I am today if it wasn't for P.T. Pastor Eric was such a funny, loving and relatable guy. He always made Christian group so much fun and really knew how to make scripture so unbelievably relatable. He knew how to speak to each man's soul and really connect with them on another level (Believers or Not). Thanks for being such an integral part of my recovery! Pastor Bob is an absolutely brilliant man and a true testament of turning your life around. Bob held groups for everyone regardless of your faith or beliefs. He made everyone feel included and could answer just about everything so precisely and accurately it was absolutely astonishing. Thank you for always being there to answers my questions when I had doubts or would second guess myself or other things! ***About to hit character cap so see photos for the rest of my review.***

In the beginning I was prejudice with AA. However, after some time, I became open to it, with the help of others with the hang ups I had. Mr Ed gives a really good educational rundown with solid solutions. Family is Welcomed! The Doctors there are all very helpful. The lie is dead, We Do Recover! Many of those there in Ministry have been Set Free! Grandpa Pastor Tom is loving, with an ear to listen and no judgement. Case worker, Jeremiah Kee is a straight shooter and will not steer you wrong. One of the Best around. Pastor Bob is like a Theologian, concerning and helpful. Pastor Eric is a go getter, and will keep you laughing. On Sundays, we go to church. It is intimate with no emotional manipulation. Pastor Winston there is solid. Being there, I have made many friends and I will have them for the rest of my life! They All care for you! Staff member Joel is serious about AA, along with Jim aka Sniper. They have a phenomenal Therapist named Jeremiah that is one of the best and very trustworthy. He helped with unity between my wife and me. Now my Faith is stronger! I supremely recommend this program. And encourage you to come here if you have a problem with drugs and or alcohol. Greetings: If you…read morefind yourself in need of a top quality mental health residential care facility for your teen, Mission Prep Healthcare is a solution I can highly recommend without reservation. My review below is based on my direct knowledge and experiences gained as a parent whose child was a residential client in their Virginia facility. As you will soon see, this organization is close to my heart for a variety of reasons. From the intake process to discharge and follow-up family care, I am profoundly grateful for the exceptional care we received from Mission Prep Healthcare. Our experience included support from their staff based in California and the Virginia-based staff at the residential care facility in Waterford, VA. Although Mission Prep has staff at both coasts, I felt that the geographical distances did not lead to any gaps in care or communication...this is certainly a hallmark of a well run organization. Michelle Murphy, the Clinical Director and our Family Therapist, is an invaluable resource. She and her team guided our care by directly meeting our needs. In addition to the quality mental health care we received, I must recognize the culinary prowess of Sammy, the Waterford, VA in-house chef. Her meal planning provided a well-rounded variety of home-cooked recipes that worked in conjunction with the program's occasional take-out meals from local restaurants. The needs of residential clients are quite varied. I was simply impressed with how well staff responded to our daughter's needs. The level of trust I have for the staff at Mission Prep Healthcare cannot be overstated. The team demonstrated a high level of respect, compassion, and professional expertise on a daily basis. While our daughter was half a country away from us, my heart was at ease knowing that she was receiving exceptional care from people I could trust. The Waterford, VA property is located in a bucolic rural setting that is peaceful and serene. The residence has a homey, comfy and relaxed vibe yet is within an easy drive to DC and surrounding metropolitan resources and attractions. The Virginia Mission Prep Healthcare programming also includes off-campus enrichment outings, including: Equine therapy, alpaca farm visits, water parks, roller skating, shopping, library, and visits to area restaurants. We appreciated all of the efforts to provide comprehensive programming. Selecting a residential healthcare facility for your teen is a daunting task. I am beyond thankful that our family's journey gave us the opportunity receive treatment from Mission Prep Healthcare. My hope is that your family receive a similar experience at Mission Prep or wherever you land as you work to support your teen's mental health needs. Until next time...tk

Mission Prep Healthcare Review: A Warning to Parents…read more If you are considering placing your teen at Mission Prep Healthcare, please think twice. Our experience with this facility was not only disappointing--it was traumatizing for our entire family. What began as a hopeful decision to help our 15-year-old son with depression turned into one of the most distressing and unprofessional situations we've ever faced. About four weeks into their so-called "six-week therapeutic program," we were blindsided by a false report to California Child Protective Services (CPS) filed by Mission Prep Healthcare staff. Without any prior conversation, clarification, or evidence, they accused our family of neglect--claiming our home had no electricity, running water, or food. These were blatant lies. CPS conducted a full investigation. They found a spotless, well-kept home with all utilities running, a stocked pantry, and our children living in comfort. Investigators were visibly shocked by how far from the truth Mission Prep Healthcare's report was. The case was dismissed immediately, but the emotional damage and humiliation of being wrongfully accused of child neglect is something no parent should ever have to experience. When we confronted Mission Prep Healthcare, they admitted to filing the report--without apology or explanation. They never once attempted to clarify anything with my wife, who regularly attended family sessions and Sunday visits. Their reckless behavior could have easily resulted in serious legal consequences or temporary loss of custody based entirely on false claims. This incident exposed just how unprofessional and dangerous this organization truly is. Mission Prep Healthcare appears quick to call CPS rather than communicating with parents, showing an alarming lack of judgment, ethics, and accountability. Further research revealed that our experience wasn't unique. Multiple other families have reported: - False or unnecessary CPS involvement. - Unsafe living conditions where teens have escaped unsupervised. - Staff outbursts, self-harm incidents, and overdoses within the facility. - Poor communication, broken promises, and unqualified or temporary therapists. These are not isolated incidents--they are a pattern. Mission Prep Healthcare's high staff turnover, questionable clinical practices, and disregard for family communication make it clear this program is not the safe, therapeutic environment it claims to be. If you value your child's safety, privacy, and emotional well-being, do not trust Mission Prep Healthcare. There are far better, more ethical treatment centers available that truly support teens and families instead of traumatizing them. We are now pursuing legal action against Mission Prep Healthcare for filing a false CPS report and causing unnecessary emotional distress. Parents deserve to know the truth: this facility is not safe, not professional, and should not be trusted with your child's care.

And I will give them a small amount of slack due to COVID. However, I would not recommend this program for others looking for residential treatment. A Mission for Michael merged with A Better Life Recovery sometime last year and the once-intimate program has now grown to about 20 or more residential treatment houses. With that growth, however, the company has not established the operations nor the staff to support that growth. Before I left for treatment, a lot of information was left out. Some things I was not aware of: Phone calls You will not be allowed to make any phone calls for 72 hours once you are admitted. After that, you only get one 5 minute phone call every-other-day until you finish part of your workbook (phase work), and then once you finish part of it, you get 5 minute every day, and by the third phase (usually about 2 weeks, depending on how fast you are) you get only a 10-minute phone call every day. You can only make phone calls to "approved" family/friends. And let me tell you, they drag their feet approving your contacts (I'm talking 7+ days). All of your phone calls are monitored - there is NO PRIVACY. If you are sad or something, they write it down and will tell your therapist or try to make it so you don't get a phone call the next day because it was "too triggering." HIPPA This place is FULL of HIPPA violations. With the therapy taking place in the house due to COVID, your housemates will hear everything you are telling the doctor and vice-versa, when you are on the phone. Due to COVID, all therapy sessions are in house and you can hear each other during therapy. When you point it out, they shrug their shoulders and the clinicians will say they are "sending an email" yet nothing gets done about it. The case workers don't do their jobs and don't care about you My case worker told me she had submitted my short term disability and she would say I was not trusting her or letting her do her job when I was worried about deadlines. Well get this, SHE NEVER SUBMITTED MY SHORT TERM DISABILITY even though she told me she had and now I'm out about $5k. Any time I would ask her, or my therapist, for an update or why things were taking so long, they would put it on ME and saying that I "didn't know how to relinquish control". Well obviously I should have hounded her more. BORING Don't let the nice pictures on the website fool you. You will NOT be going anywhere. The only thing we did was drive to the beach and sit next to the car or walk around the block. Try doing that for 6 weeks (no thanks). The weekdays move quickly because you're doing about 6 hrs of therapy per day, but on the weekends, you will be counting down the minutes. Therapy Some of the therapy was great, and a lot can be learned in the different groups. A lot of it is worthless. How about art therapy for 2.5 hours where you just watch a documentary you could have watched at home? What about a therapist/doctor who goes out of his way to piss you off during each session and who keeps telling patients that they should just go do heroine or meth...? Yep, this is true. THE FOOD SUCKS They cater in the food each day and you get no say on what is ordered. They will honor dietary restrictions but then will slop together food that tastes downright awful. How about some lasagna noodles with rotisserie chicken, marinara sauce, and cheddar cheese? That was my dinner one night. You can not bring in any outside food. They will go shopping once a week for misc items but they throw a fit when you ask for something they don't usually buy. I survived off of peanut butter sandwiches, grilled cheese and cereal, because the food was so inedible. They will almost-never allow treats or anything deemed unhealthy. RUDE STAFF Some of the staff are just downright rude and don't care- they will ignore you when you ask for something, boss you around as if you're a child, and will be downright miserable to be around (with a few exceptions). If you ask for something or make a request, they will say they're "sending an email" because they have to ask for permission for everything). It was hot in the house in the summer (with no AC) and I had to ask for a fan at least 10x before someone actually followed through. I made it 4/6 weeks at this place and then had enough because, honestly, it was making my depression worse. I learned some great skills in some of the therapy sessions because I did put in the work, but had I known these things in advance, I probably would have chosen a different program. Side note- they do at least warn you about the no-phone policy. Don't let the marketing ploy and pictures fool you. This place is not what it is cracked up to be.

The house I was in we were shoved in little rooms with multipul people on cots that had huge urine marks from previous clients. I was bitten up so bad I needed medical attention after transferring out of there, plus they charge you 1200 a month to live there! We closed the windows but since they refused to turn the air on at night we had to open the windows which had torn up screens, hence the bug bites! On top of this they don't take clients to any meetings, grocery shopping, doctor's appointments, or even to the pharmacy to get their meds. They have one van for everyone so even though groups start at nine you are picked up at 7:30 and when the groups are over at 4:00, you dont get home until well after 5:00 and Mondays and Wednesday they take people to the gym so everyone has to go, then it's seven or eight oclock. The lunch they cater in for PHP clients is just awful. They spare every expense here and it is obvious they are only doing this for the money. I have stayed and worked at centers and have never experienced such calous attitudes and such horrible conditions. I am currently in the process of reporting them to the health department. All ua's are unsupervised so anyone could pass one with someone elses urine or synthetic urine. This place only cares about the money, they don't care about human beings! I also had issues with my therapist as I saw him one time. I was very disappointed that they knew at least a day before I did of my exit date. They should have communicated this to their peers to relay the message to me so I had more preparation. I gave this place 4 stars all because Katrina, Shae and the entire nursing staff. The doctors here are great as well.
