I recently visited this hotel spa with friends, and unfortunately my massage experience was extremely uncomfortable and upsetting. The massage itself felt unprofessional and lacked any clear technique.
What made the experience far worse was that, during the back portion of the massage, the therapist lowered my underwear far beyond what I believe is appropriate and began rubbing my buttocks. I was shocked and uncomfortable, but unsure in the moment how to stop her. This is not something I've ever experienced at a professional spa and it made me feel violated.
Afterward, I brought it up with the staff member at the front desk and explained that I felt uncomfortable and touched inappropriately. While he offered to give me half off the service and asked if that was suitable, he did not acknowledge what I had said -- no eye contact, no questions, and no attempt to understand what happened.
To make matters worse, my two friends who had massages at the same time had completely different, more typical experiences, which makes me feel this was not standard practice but an unacceptable breach of boundaries.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as guests deserve to feel safe, respected, and cared for in a spa environment. read more
