I noticed this shop took over the old One Hour Photo that had been here for decades, but closed. It's in the CVS shopping center, right next to Noah's Bagels. I took my shoes in, the proprietor and shoe repairman came out from the back. He gave me a quote of $30 to re-glue both heels. I took them in on a Saturday. He asked me if Friday was okay? I said yes and paid in advance. He gave me a copy of my receipt and stapled it to the ticket. Not too talkative, but he's a busy guy. He has quite the workshop back there, behind the counter. From the front, you can see his work bench and machinery. When I came back, there was a line. I also noticed there was a significant volume of shoes that were repaired and ready for pickup. I gave him my ticket, which he used to pull the plastic bin my shoes were in. Yay, new glue. I'm happy. I noticed he repairs purses, so that may be next on my list. He also sells merchandise. Ie Shoelaces and insoles.

On these cheaply made (but expensive) shoes there is a plastic strip all along the top outside of the shoe. It's made to look like stitching. Anyway, this was coming off. I liked the initial job enough to bring a second pair of shoes to Mill's a week later. Well, 1 month later both pair of shoes fell apart again. I went back with a pair and he accepted no responsibility. I asked him to just glue them back together and he sold me a tube of Barge glue. Sigh. At home, I discovered that he didn't put enough glue on the shoe. There was only a thin line of glue on the shoe parts. Definitely not enough to keep the shoe together. Presumably he didn't want any of the glue to show on the outside, but really all you have to do is use a microfiber cloth to wipe away any excess. There's really no excuse not to do a quality job. Unfortunately, cash only. Mill's does not accept credit cards. I gave 1 extra star because the new soles have not fallen off yet. That said, I recommend you find a different place to repair your shoes.

The only thing I would mention is that the location can appear to be a bit sketchy. I believe it is next door to a very cultural store that may have for sale items on the actual side walk, if I am not mistaken. Anyhow, immediately after the sidewalk sale is the door that leads you into to store. The actual shoe repair is located in the back. Parking is best in the parking lot where the burger spot is. I've only gone upon opening and early afternoon and parking was okay l. It does look like it can get full as there are other businesses on that lot. Highly recommend going earlier.

Every time I walk into his shop, I'm greeted with seeing how diligent and tired he is to do it all by himself. Unbeatable prices too. In the many years ago, I've lost count of how many pairs of shoes I've brought to him over the years, and I trust him completely with all of them--especially my favorite name-brand heels and boots. He treats every pair with such care, and I honestly hope he stays in business forever because I'm definitely going to keep him busy! I tend to wear my shoes down "like cray-cray," which always makes me think of my absolute favorite fairy tale from childhood: The 12 Dancing Princesses. You know, that story about the twelve royal sisters who would sneak out every night to dance until their shoes were worn completely through? I feel like a modern-day version of them minus the dancing lol but just daily usages, every time I drop off a bag of shoes at Iggy's!
