I have been seeing Dr Solomon since 1986. He is my favorite Dr I have ever encountered. He always takes his time with any of my concerns.

I was looking for the hours this place is open before calling, and saw the negative review... And…read morejust had to write my own. I'm fairly certain I've seen pretty much all of the dermatologists here over the years, since I was a very young child, for my severe skin conditions. I've seen Dr. Solomon, Kimberly(sp?), Dr. Dubin(I think his name is), Sarah, and Alyssa... The honest truth of dealing with skin conditions is that it takes work. Some things that work for you will not work for other people as well. And it's not just moisturizers, creams, etc.... Lots of things can affect your skin. Using very hot water during a shower can be harder on your skin. Using certain shampoos and soaps can be less friendly on your skin. Even diet can affect certain conditions. Drinking alcohol is said to be bad for a number of conditions, for example. Dove gentle soap is generally a good bet. CeraVe and Eucerin are generally good brands. Try to check for manufacturer coupons online / in-store. That's another thing - this office sometimes has coupons for stuff like this, or samples... And that's honestly great they do that. The last time I went in (last week or so), i was also given some coupon cards to use with some prescriptions... although they are probably ultimately given by the manufacturing company for those products, it's still nice. I really want to stress that sometimes things you can use and be given can take a long time to work. It might have a cumulative effect, or it might not be the best one for you. I've honestly given up sometimes on using medicine because I'm not seeing the progress. You just have to stick with it, be patient, and be willing to try new things.

He also recommended a full body skin examination. The skin exam was done by Allyssa, a certified physician's assistant. She is extremely professional and respectful, as well as a great person. She is definitely a warm and compassionate health care provider. She noticed some actinic keratoses on my forehead and temples. She subsequently removed those by cryosurgery. I recommend this dermatology practice to anyone concerned about their skin health.

Achieving Sustain Healthy Cancer Free Skin with Derick Dermatology…read more A couple years ago I started noticing some concerning facial and semi raised spots on my face. This bothered me and after looking at these spots I decided to ask around and find out where I should seek medical advise. I started by asking some people at my church who I should see. As I was speaking with a few people the about where to go I kept hearing the names like Derick Dermatology as well as other providers specializing facial related medical issues. I inquired about other places and their variety techniques I got a little concern. Some treatment approaches were kind of.......severe.....and frightening. So I kept asking for about 2-3 weeks. As I asked I saw a pattern evolving. A few people stated mentioning Derick Dermatology. I ask why Derick Dermatology and what I heard was they take a very directed approach. They listen and more important they listen to your concerns. They welcome the questions I asked. So when the doctors at Derick Dermatology looked me they quickly took a look and found skin cancer issues and immediately took care of it. I then ask a few what if questions and provided me with good answers Having a healthcare background I appreciated their fact base approach. They also said I could call their Help Desk and get help regarding my questions or getting suggestions. I did and they quickly got connected with a doctor who address my concerns. Then they said they wanted to see me again in 4 months. I came back and they saw more issues and they were removed. I then asked about preventive skin cancer techniques and once again the D. D. doctors introduced me to a layered approach for stopping future skin cancer. Their approach really worked. Some of those outcomes from the layered approach included: 1. Some of the spots got smaller on my face and dried up 2. I stop getting new sun spots on my face 3. My skin tone started changing to the better. I had a old look before D. D. 4. The best news was I was able to have a significantly reduced aged look. Now as I say this I am older guy close to that number I care not to admit, however my looks are much younger. As an example when I ask for my senior citizen discount I have to pull out my ID and proof it that includes places where discounts begin at 60. I was told me I did not even look close to 60. So you can decide to go to another facial issues provider.....or you can get smart and go to Derick Dermatology and address your issues...... changing your life to your desired look and a better way of life.

Scheduling is very efficient, the staff is friendly and courteous, and Dr. Newman immediately put me at ease. This is a very professional clinic and sees only adult patients, I believe. Most communication is backed up with email reminders and an online portal so you can complete all your paperwork ahead of time so you don't need to get there so early the first time. I had my labs drawn during my first visit and the results were available after one week, viewable through my DPI "portal", and Dr. Newman called me personally to explain them, without my prompting. I highly recommend this clinic. The excellent, friendly patient care really shines when paired with it's easy and transparent web presence. It is very professional and I have full confidence that my heath is in good hands with the men and women working there.

They established a patient portal where one can e-mail a nurse, but the e-mails are often misunderstood (i.e. they sent a prescription to Wal-Mart instead of Walgreens). Recently, I asked for a refill of a particular prescription. Instead of filling up a 30 day supply, I ended up getting TWO pills! That's $7.50 a pill...! I am going to look around for another primary care doctor. They do have a nice facility in a professional building, but looks can be deceiving. If you have other medical options, explore them.
