With the birds chirping their morning song and the serene ambiance of walking this paved path amongst the trees, it was easy to displace the reality of being in a decent sized city for a bit. In addition to the walking trail, there is also a children's playground, a pavilion, a few picnic tables, a fitness area, and a decent sized parking lot. I would definitely recommend this pleasant walking trail and with it lit with street lights every few yards, I believe that it is open until ten o'clock at night. Go check it out for yourself, I am confident that you will not be disappointed. Overall, I will give it five stars. It is not a huge area, but Dothan Kiwanis Park and Trail proves that good things can come in small packages.

This trail system is all intertwined with each other so you get miles and miles of trails. There are parts that are for bicycles and other parts that are just for hiking. You can bring your dogs if they are leashed. They have a couple of trash bins and plastic poo bags on the trail. The trail is marked with milage markers. At the main parking lot there is a small pavilion with picnic tables and a small but intriguing playground. When I was there a few families were playing. This part is definitely worth a visit. So I googled nearby springs and this recreation area came up. I was totally surprised to pull up and find that the water was super clear and blue. They have a pretty large swimming area with a diving board and slides. There is plenty of room to lay out and get sun. Also allow you to swim outside of the main area. The lifeguards were super friendly when I asked if I could swim outside the area and even told me where the underground cave was outside of the main area. Underneath the diving board is an entrance to another underwater cave. Be aware that there is a current in the main swimming area. We really enjoyed swimming/snorkeling in the area and seeing the underwater caves. It's a great value!!! I highly recommend hanging out here if you're in the area!!

This collection of trails is another prime example of humans and nature working together to create…read moresomething nice. The trails are fairly well maintained and marked. It is fairly flat, but has a few small bumps and hills. On my visits it has been quiet and calm. I saw some fish, a turtle, frogs, and a range of birds and squirrels. I really enjoyed it. I also noticed just a small amount of trash, which is still too much in a place this natural. There is a small pump track for bmx and mountain bikes. They also have a small bike station to work on your bike if you need to including a hand air pump. That is a huge plus! The parking lot is unclear and dirt. I just pulled to the end and out of the way. There are other access points, but I've not been to them yet. I would definitely recommend this park if you are in the Dothan area.

Yes, the bridge is locked off from all foot traffic by iron gates. I'm guessing that this was done to prevent the neer-do-wells from filling the interior with graffiti, something I've seen done to other covered bridges. There is access to the bridge from both sides of the creek, but the far side has better parking and even a few picnic benches. The view from there is way better too.
