Taking it as a…read moremonument and skipping over the purpose for the moment, it is quite nice and is in very good condition. The stone is easy to read and the tribute is lovely. That said, it is a monument to soldiers who died fighting for the Confederacy during the Civil War. It reads, "A tribute of love, to the noble Confederate soldiers who cheerfully offered their lives in defense of the right of local self-government, and to those who fought and survived.
