They generally deal in many tons at a time but it sure is nice that they will deal with mid-sized pickup bed sized loads. I guess their main business is asphalt but you can take a truck into the plant and a massive loader will scoop up rock and aggregate by the ton and dump it in your bed. They weigh you coming in and out to see how much you are taking. There is a tray by the door of the office so you can see the different types of rock and aggregate they offer. You tell the guys what you want and they'll direct you from there. This is fill/construction material though so don't go there looking for some fancy decorative river rock! I picked up some stuff they said was mostly used for road base. The bit that got loaded into my truck (out of a mountain of material) seemed to be left over stuff from a concrete pour -- it still had some wet concrete mixed in, which was fine with me. Some of the other stuff they have is probably a bit more clean/washed and more expensive. This road base worked great for my purpose as fill for a dry-stack retaining wall.

I have never had a sub attempt to poach the rest of the work directly from my customer, but he attemptEd. a lot more opportunity for more work. I had received a deposit from my customer and David told me he wanted paid in full before his son left the jobsite. I had no problem with that....and did so. The flake portion of the job was good. The epoxy was very bad. Customer wasn't going to pay me. David went back to look at work, committed to be back on Monday to fix. The "fix" was just as bad. so I am out now $4,050. I requested David return $3500.00. He said after he receives a letter of release, via mail, he would mail us a check. I said, how about we come to Lufkin, I give you a release, and get cash. we can meet at bank. David cancels offer. Now, my customer wants nothing to do with us and I have lost any opportunity there. approximately $40,000 in additional work. On July 27th we will be filing suit for the money returned, loss of business, and legal fees.
