This place feels super safe- when I went, I was pretty much shadowed by security forces wearing armored vests with walkie-talkies. This is actually kinda the entrance to even fancier places, a ferris wheel, and high-end residences. The mall doesn't seem to have any public restrooms. There is no food court, just a smattering of high end places that are kinda tucked here and there throughout the mall. Parking looks challenging. I'd rather take the bus here. When I went, it appeared that they were expanding the footprint of this shopping mall.

I am writing this to bring attention to a serious scam that occurred inside your Walmart 24h store…read morein Cancun. During my visit, a man named Mike, wearing a Walmart name tag, approached us inside the store and offered what he claimed was an official Walmart promotion: * 6 round-trip ferry tickets to Isla Mujeres * A full-day golf cart rental * Lunch on the island * Hotel pickup All for USD $120, with a $30 deposit. He repeatedly assured us that he worked for Walmart, not any resort, and that it was NOT a timeshare sales pitch. However, later that night he messaged us saying the pickup would be changed to 8:00 AM so he could take us to another resort for breakfast -- something we never agreed to. When we insisted on sticking to the original 9:30 AM plan, he showed up the next morning and again pressured us to go to the resort to attend a 1.5-hour presentation, which was obviously a timeshare scheme. When we refused, he told us the trip was canceled and that our $30 deposit was being kept by his "boss." He then claimed we would have to return to Walmart to get it back. Before we could even discuss it further, he jumped onto a bus and disappeared. This was misrepresentation, dishonesty, and a clear scam -- all happening inside Walmart premises, by someone wearing a Walmart name badge. I am requesting: 1. Walmart Cancun to investigate how scammers are operating inside your store while appearing to be legitimate staff. 2. The resort involved to take responsibility for using deceptive tactics to lure tourists into timeshare presentations. 3. A refund of the $30 deposit that was taken under false pretenses. 4. Measures to ensure this does not happen to other visitors. Tourists should feel safe inside a well-known retailer like Walmart -- not targeted by scammers pretending to be staff. This shopping mall seems to have had better days. There's a bit of an occupancy problem. It's quiet. However, it feels safe. I saw security wandering around, and there aren't any locals hassling the tourists for change. In the near future, the causeway across the lagoon is going to be completed, and the causeway is going to drop off vehicles right in front of this shopping center. It'll be the first thing you see when you drive to Cancun. The future is bright for this shopping mall. The place has a bunch of different vendors and retailers here. You can get out of the sun, enjoy a cup of coffee, dinner at a fancy-ish restaurant (Ruth Chris!) I don't know where you can park, but this mall is easily accessible from the bus.

Since I was due for a new glasses anyways and to not ruin my trip, I decided to just get glasses so I can wear them. My bf called a couple places and out of all the places we called, this place picked up and was very helpful. I arrived at around 11AM, got an eye exam in a dark little room, picked out the glasses I wanted and was told to come back at 7PM to pick them up. Super quick! The selection was very limited and to be quite honest, the glasses were super cheap looking. I didn't need anything fancy so I got the most basic decent looking one for my big head and the total came out to be $90 USD. This is as basic as it can get! She did try to up sell me on the add-on features and nicer looking glasses, but I didn't bother. After my exam, we paid and was told to return later at 7PM. I was not given my new prescription so I had to ask and she then wrote it down on a random piece of paper. Overall, the experience wasn't too bad. Price paid was questionable, but I understand and respect the hustle. Thanks to this place my trip wasn't ruined and I was able to see everything! Also appreciate that I was able to pick up my glasses within the same day too.

The lady at the front did not have his RX and wanted to sell us boxes with -.75 weaker. We told her that we'd be back because it wasn't the RX we needed. She then stopped us and kept saying she's the only optical that is open right now. All of the other opticals close early. I had a sense that she was lying but my fiancé was in desperate need because he is practically blind and needed some bad because we were going on a tour early the next day. We proceeded to buy some just in case. Our taxi driver took us to another optical and it was OPEN and had the RX that we needed. So we went back to this place and the woman says we can't return it because her credit card machine won't allow it. We weren't born yesterday.... So we left and I'll probably dispute it with my travel credit card company.
