This 18th century residence in downtown SP is freely accessible and houses a small museum. The history of the place (a lover of Brazil's ruler Pedro 1 lived here) is quite interesting, and if you're in the area it's a nice stop. The 2 expositions when we visited were on the history of the city (photographs, text) and a detailed overview of a grand lady of the arts in SP named Yolanda. Be aware that most displays are in Portuguese without any translations. read more
