I have always been a fan of street art and Beco do Batman is a haven for that. While on vacation in Brazil, towards the end of our trip, we decided to check out Beco de Batman in the afternoon. It was within walking distance from our Airbnb which made the adventure even more convenient. First off, doesn't Beco do Batman sound like an incredible spot?! While there were no Batmobile sightings, Beco do Batman describes a part of town full of street art. The street art is spread out throughout quite a few blocks so walk around and take it all in. With that being said, there is a main area of Beco down a narrow alleyway where you'll see a good chunk of it. Along with shops, bars, and restaurants. As always, since this is Brazil we're talking about, be aware of your belongings and surroundings. Enjoy this hipster and artsy part of Sao Paulo.

This really deserves 6 stars. Possibly one of the most beautiful area in the World. If you appreciate art in the most creative, vandalism type fashion this is the place to explore. Literally a dead end with breathe taking art. And they paying homage to Batman. Don't blink theres so much art in every corner you are sure to miss a few things. By the way the area is very hippy and artsy much like Wynnwood, Miami or Williamsburg, Brooklyn; definitely worth exploring the area after you check out the art. PS A few of the artist sneak some batman art into their own work.

My crew and I had a nice layover in Brazil, and I suggested that we come here because I wanted to get some pictures taken in front of the wing murals. A fun thing to do if you are visiting São Paulo. Lots of great paintings by great artists. After a day of posing and taking pictures, be sure to grab some fresh coconut juice or a nice cold acai bowl from one of the vendors.

Even if you think you don't like graffiti you should come to see the street art at Beco do Batman (Batman's Alley). This is where the professionals of São Paulo (and the world) paint. The visuals are constantly turning over in this Vila Madalena mainstay so it's definitely worth returning for a second (or third) look. It's perfectly safe in the daytime. Like an slightly secluded alley, the middle of the night is probably to be avoided though. Besides, it'll be a lot harder for you to capture the wondrous works of this open air art gallery in the dark!

Beco do Batman, or Batman Alley, is a must to see when visiting São Paulo. Named after the infamous Batman mural in the alley, this spot is perfect for those who appreciate street art or those that want to pose and shoot a picture for their instagram feed. My friend and I visited the alley early in the morning so we can take our time to explore the area and avoid the crowds. Luckily, we were the only visitors in the area, so we enjoyed a nice peaceful tour of the alley. There are cute restaurants and shops nearby, as if you need another reason to visit Beco do Batman. Best part is this is a free activity to add to your itinerary!

Located in the bohemian Vila Madalena neighborhood, Beco do Batman (Batman's Alley,) features some of the most impressive "street art" in a city where almost every blank space acts as a canvas. Called "graffiti" by some, but here a true art form, guests exploring Rua Goncalo Afonso will find several blocks of detailed work ranging from Super Heroes to spiritual. Free, safe, and surrounded by Bistros, Coffee Shops and Concert Venues a visit should be prioritized by anyone visiting Sao Paulo.

Was looking for some cool places to visit while here in Sao Paulo and found this place online. I had been once before but I had forgotten about it. It has some awesome street art all over the Alley way. One of the locals that live near by told us that they change the murals every 1-3 months and do competitions between the artists. It included some very different and abstract art and a lot of other kinds. Definitely worth going to! It's quite a bit of fun if you like art!

What's not to love about a hyper-local alley covered top to bottom in some of São Paulo's best street art? Beco de Batman is the visual representation of the neighborhood it resides in. Cool, vibrant, edgy and attracting those with similar characteristics, BdB is a worthwhile spot to visit if you're looking for the hippest in SP lifestyle. The Vila Madalena neighborhood plays host to some of SP's coolest shops and cafés and within it, you're likely to find live samba playing out of a nearby spot, chops and caipirinhas being poured from corner to corner, and people from all walks of life strolling down the street. A visit to the area isn't complete without a stop at Beco do Batman.

A culture stop between Coffee Lab and Frida e Mina on my 'essential Sao Paulo' tour for out of town visitors. A great photo op. If you're lucky you'll get to see some of Sampa's best artists at work. Visit King Cap around the corner if you're interested in learning more SP street art or purchasing original work's by artists from all over Brazil.

WOW!!! What an amazing place to go and see all the beautiful art work. I like this place because they have all types of art! It's not all about graffiti style art work, but instead there are brilliant art pieces that will fit many different people's likes. While we were there, a group of artists were working on a piece that was truly amazing! I cannot describe how beautiful this piece was. The colors they were using, and how they got their lines to be so straight and clean really was amazing. If you keep walking around you will keep finding little places that are hidden and painted something very cool. I would recommend walking around a few times, because I found things on my second trip through the alley way that i didn't see on my first time through.

    Love this place!

I go graffiti hunting just about everywhere I visit so how can I come to Sao Paulo and not stop by Batman Alley? And it did not disappoint! Not only did we have an opportunity to take in the vibrant designs, we also had the opportunity to witness the artists at work - reminded me a bit of 5 Pointz in NY (RIP). Must do/see in my opinion if graffiti is your thing.

If you are in the area come see this. Take some pictures its interesting. You won't spend all day here. There is a small shopping area at the end of the alley.

Fan.Tas.Tic. Such a fun public space with several top quality and inspiring graffiti works. Should be at the top of your list of places to visit in SP!

People pour into the streets while sidewalk vendors set up all their antique and kitchy wares for sale. Honestly, I found things overpriced and I didn't happen upon any truly unique and must-have items. Everything seemed a little standard to what I'd find in most street fairs without the artisan touch. What is lovely though is the bustling neighborhood with praça bars opening their doors and selling everything from feijoada to caipirinhas and beer. Later in the afternoon, the crowd almost completely shifts to the gay segment. Around 6pm, you can find men who like men and women who like women dominating the praça and sharing beers with friends and strangers. If you're looking for the gay scene, here you have it!

Most of the merchandise is over-priced and kind of junky, but there are some fun things to be found if you want to pick through. Really the reason to go here is for the experience. Pinheiros is a very cool part of Sao Paulo that always seems to have something interesting going on. The atmosphere on Saturdays, when this feira is held, is electric. Street musicians, people walking their dogs, and hipsters abound. There is also some great restaurants to check out if you get hungry while browsing through old records, 50s furniture, and all kinds of memorabilia. Funky boutiques line the sidewalk across from the fair, so if you don't find anything to your liking at the feira, you may end up taking home some graphic tees or cute vintage dresses from one of the nearby stores.

Many of their streets have either a bar, a restaurant, a small business with a tv broadcasting a game, and packed with people! On this review, I will describe how I partied with some special friends (not that kind of special), friend from college, friend that I've met online, friends that I've met through friends, and made some new friends along this night. Looking for a rad place to go watch the matches, exquisite places to eat, and what to do in SP if you only had less than 24 hours? Then keep on reading. Met everyone at Posto 6(http://bit.ly/1pGovzj), gather all friends, met some really interesting people from around the globe, even a chick reporter from Boulder, Colorado, and of course, met some fellows for a safety meeting on the street side. Had a few beers, some grub, and partied our a$$es off on Aspiculeta. Notice that it was a Friday night during World Cup but Brazil did NOT play that day, and we could barely walk on that street. We bar hopped, a LOT! From Posto 6, to Boteco São Bento(http://bit.ly/1nzvLIS), to Salve Jorge(http://bit.ly/1nxRqlV), and our last stop was Armazén, where we met former professional soccer player Raí. After so much drinking, we went straight ahead to Genésio Pasta & Chopp(http://bit.ly/T47Wk5), ate some amazing food and kept on drinking, even though it was passed 2am! Cabbed around SP and our last destination was Black Dog(http://bit.ly/1j9yRlz), it really hit the spot at 4am. If you are here for the World Cup and want to have a blast within 24 hours or less, go to Vila Madalena, it will not disappoint!

Yelp Review 2025 #169:…read more Liberdade is the Japantown of São Paulo. Brazil has a big Japanese population due to Japanese migration of 1908 aboard the Kasato Maru. Coffee plantations needed workers and the Japanese answered the call. Now, you'll see a strong Japanese influence on Brazilian culture. Liberdade is lined with Japanese restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and other businesses. You can get a kimono here, a Ghibli T-shirt, matcha latte, a bottle of Ramune, go to a Hello Kitty-themed cafe (they have 3 in Liberdade), eat a bowl of hot ramen. At the center of Liberdade, you'll see a rock monument to commemorate the visit of Princess Mako to Brazil in 2018. It's a nice place to walk around and see graffiti, visit the small Japanese garden for free, and eat. About a 3-minute walk from Liberdade is downtown São Paulo. It's walkable. There is also the Museum of Japanese Immigration here, s small museum dedicated to the history of how the Japanese came to Brazil. Compared to other Asiantowns I've been to around the world, Liberdade is good but not spectacular. It is actually not that big in terms of area size and the highlights can be seen quickly. It is also less bustling and filled with less businesses than other ones I've been to.
