1 Star Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We paid for the food and ended up only eating one bite before deciding to leave. The first bite of the beef taco was cold. We addressed it with the waitress, and replacement tacos were brought out. The second order was hot, but when I bit into it, hot water/liquid came out of the meat and it was completely unseasoned. It was honestly disgusting. The "street corn" was also disappointing. It appeared to be canned corn that had simply been warmed up with mayonnaise and Tajín. It was not grilled or even pan fried, which is what we expected. The carne asada plate was barely warm as well and unfortunately not edible. We chose to just pay the bill and leave. There seemed to be a language barrier, and we did not feel additional complaints would have been clearly understood or addressed. The waitress also never acknowledged that almost none of the food had been eaten or asked if there was an issue when we left everything behind and did not take anything to go. Overall, very poor food quality and a disappointing dining experience. read more

This may be our new go to for Mexican food. We've been here a handful of times and the food has consistently been very good. There's plenty of seating and the furniture is made in Mexico, it's very comfortable. The staff is like family and so accommodating. read more

Super chill spot to stop for a bite. Lots of nice neon lights with a darker atmosphere. I got the California burrito and their happy hour margarita. It's affordable and the staff that I got was really nice. I just find the seating uncomfortable but genuinely the rest was great! Id love to go back read more

Stopped for the night on our way south in Franklin, TN. The check in woman recommended it & says folks always say they love it. We ordered 3 margaritas on the rocks and were sooo good, nice potency and tasty. I had the chimichanga with marinated steak cube, crazy good 900 miles from San Antonio! read more

Food was delicious me and my boyfriend loved it ! I will be returning back . Also very great service

Very attentive service. Delicious margaritas. I had the fajita quesadilla and it was so flavorful. We shared the banana burrito for dessert. It was so delicious with so many flavors. Everything was served at perfect temperature and quick. The chips and salsa- seemed to be homemade both and the salsa was delicious. Great find. read more

Excellent stop on I65 at exit 2/Franklin KY. Friendly and fast service. Clean restaurant with happy music and TVs up high with sports programs. As soon as we weee seated we had chips and salsa brought to us and our drink order taken. My husband got a beef Chimichanga--it was perfectly spiced and came with rice and beans and guac/sour cream/lettuce. It was really good. I got a chicken taco salad. At first I thought it was pretty small, but it was actually very filling because it was a bowl full of shredded chicken with a very small amount of lettuce on top with diced tomatoes and sour cream. I decided it was best to treat it like nachos topping and scooped it up with the chips. It was good, but I'd been hoping for more lettuce. Summary is this is an excellent quick place to stop! read more

The food is always on point, service is usually good and you have to try a margaritas (if you are of age, of course).

Here in town for work and we're from Georgia. (First time in Kentucky)I got the burrito de carne asada (new) and it was absolutely delicious. if I lived here I'd come here often for this. Service was great too. I have 0 complaints. 10/10 would recommend read more

Great food, great service, great prices, and an amazing atmosphere. This is a family favorite. We love this place.

I don't know what anybody else is talking about this place in food and price is exactly what I was looking for, great food, great service affordable price. Made all the checkmarks. Checking with marinated all the way through beef was perfect. Whole dish was perfect and I left full. A great spot to stop and get something to eat along your long travels read more

First of all my server Brenda, was very attentive and had insightful recommendations. I had a lunch special, Taquitos Mexicano. Everything was really clean and tasty. The price was very reasonable. I couldn't have ate fast food for what I paid. Love it read more

I can't think of anything good to say about this place. Waiter was not welcoming at all, and failed to deliver the appetizer we ordered. Portions were small. Chimichanga was just slightly larger than a deck of cards, and the accompaniments were equally chintzy...maybe a slight teaspoon of sour cream. Nachos, ordered as an entree, was small and presented in an unappetizing way. Guacamole was the thinned down goop like you find next to the onion dip in the grocery's dairy case. Food overall was mediocre. All in all, there is no reason to patronize this restaurant, given the superior Mexican establishments in and near Franklin. The value is not there. read more

My go to place for Mexican food. Best salsa in my opinion. Service is usually quick and food is great. Prices are good also.

We first came across this restaurant while traveling. It was next to the Hampton Inn we popped in for dinner and it was amazing! The service was great and the food did not disappoint! That was two years ago and we were here again tonight! Delicious!!!! Same excellent service and abundance of food with a great atmosphere! Thank you for a great experience and we will be back! read more

Three and a half, but I'll go with the current majority and round it to a four. The location is just off of interstate 65, which is super convenient and rare convenient location to find a four star restaurant. We were immediately sat near the door. The salsa was merely crushed tomatoes. My husbands asked if he could get hot salsa, but the waitress didn't understand what he wanted at all. The language barrier was my biggest complaint here. The three of us quite simple lunch entrees, but the ordering process was timely. I ordered the steak fajita taco salad and asked for the sour cream that is listed on menu with it, on the side. She brought out a side of sour cream, in addition to the sour cream that was ON the salad. Of course, I was charged for the side of sour cream. I will say that the salad was excellent. The beef tips were lean and grilled just right. My daughter ordered the signature lunch beef burrito, the Sol Azteca. She raved about the red sauce on it and the refried beans. If you like your refried beans simple, you might not like it though. The restaurant and the bathroom were super clean. I would go back, if I'm near Franklin, Kentucky and the Kentucky state line again. read more

Not a big fan of Mexican restaurants overall. I give most of them 2 stars or less, as it is normally just - here - bunch of high carb food with a bit of meat inside. So take this three star review as high praise. We were greeted warmly, the service was good, and the high carb crackers wrapping a bit of meat was actually good! Given my normal hatred of mexican food, this restaurant, right outside our hotel - we went to twice! High praise. read more

Stopped in this tiny Mexican restaurant on the way home from vacation. Dinner rush was likely just over as it was nearing 630pm. My large party of 10 was seated promptly with no fuss. Chips, salsa and the normal routine for most authentic food places was completed without incident. Decor was cute, loved the little kids table and chair set! Music was great, staff was friendly and personable. Salsa was a little bland, nothing a bit of chopped cilantro on the side can't fix but overall enjoyable! Dinner was great! I had chilaquiles, my husband had bisteq Mexicano, the kids had cheese sticks, tenders, etc... my oldest son had the Molcajete and complimented that it was better than our favorite place back home. Many people don't know what the molcajete is. If you are hungry and adventurous, try it! If you aren't too hungry but still adventurous, share it with your friend! They are great! Get the super one with all the fixings! Summed up the total for a nice dinner, an alcoholic beverage, soft drinks and food for 10 at 140$. Not too shabby! We will definitely visit again on out way back through next year! read more

Just moved here from Southern California and didn't expect to find good Mexican food. This place has very authentic Mexican food. Better than most places in my home town. The four of us all ordered different meals and they were all delicious. Highly recommend Sol Azteca. read more

Stayed next door at the Hampton so walked over for convenience... great food and service!

The food had a good flavor but it was all Super salty. We ordered 3 very different dishes and yet they were all Salty. I asked for extra spicy and they couldn't do it. She said I could pay extra for some chopped jalapeño on the side. I thought this was weird since usually most restaurants can accommodate spice level. It made me think they didn't "make it fresh". Seemed like they must have a huge pot of premade stuff and can't change spice levels or substitution of ingredients. I thought the price was a bit on the high side for this area but they had good portions. I would have given more stars if it wasn't so so salty and if it was made to order and more fresh. read more

Chips were stale, not one batch but, the second batch was as well! The taco salad chicken was super salty and very little in the salad bowl to call a salad! Service was good and surroundings appeared clean! read more

This is a typical Mexican restaurant. It was clean, except for the booth seat (some children enjoyed their meal) which was easily remedied. The staff was nice and helpful. The manager came by to check up on us and our meal. It's hard to eat low carb at any Mexican restaurant. We opted for a few a la carte items and left the bread. What we ordered, beef tongue tacos and a cheese stuffed chili were tasty. But you could tell the beef tongue was tenderized. read more

Stopped by this place as this was the only place still open after 9pm. As a result, didn't expect much, but the food was great. The hot sauce was tasty but not spicy. The fam had a variety of dishes including , ribeye, enchiladas, tacos, and carnitas. The watermelon margarita was really good. Don't expect the steak to be comparable to a steakhouse, but it wasn't bad and came with shrimp and potatoes for $13.99; can't beat that. I would recommend this place and gave it four stars as it was better than it looks from the outside. Plus, they got my daughter's order wrong but had no issue whatsoever getting it corrected. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place!! Hubby suggested it one night and I was skeptical, given the nearby restaurants, which are tasteless and are more for the travelers. Walking in, you notice the very Tuscan and 2000s vibe mixed with the classic Mexican Restaurant design. Showing that this place has been here for a while. However that being, it welcomes you in with a homey feel. A host or waiter will seat you and help you with your needs. The owner Saul (pronounced sal-ool) with create a great friendly bond with any customer making them feel welcome and like they have always been a regular no matter how many times they have been. The food, is a classic and satisfying, traditional Mexican-restaurant taste that is the same with each dish. We choose this place when stopping to stay overnight along the interstate. What a mistake. First off the hot sauce is bland and the chips too thick and oily. The server, a nice young lady, did not speak very good english, did not know the menu and did not mention the specials that day. We learned of them as we left and they happened to exactly what we would have ordered. Ended up with the worst enchiladas I have ever had with a side of a pile of lettuce and a dolup of sour cream. I should have sent it back but my wife's place was already on the table. I don't like giving bad reviews but this place dropped the ball.. read more
