Ube Soft Serve
Rahil H.

Soft Swerve totally lives up to the hype. I came specifically for the ube soft serve, and it did not disappoint. I can't stop thinking about it!! It wasn't too sweet and the texture was perfectly silky. The staff was SO sweet. I forget her name but she was so good at offering advice and even let me try multiple other flavors. Give her a raise!! The shop is small and casual, but service was quick and friendly. Tons of topping options, but honestly the ube was so good I kept it simple to let the flavor shine. I will definitely be coming back to try more flavors!

Frozen Hot Chocolate Ice Cream Cup

One of my favorite ice cream spots in nyc! Creative and unique flavors as well as great topping to choose from (like toffee crunch!)

Standard ice cream, the rockefelller center is definitely for the chocolate lovers!! The only real negative is how expensive it is. This was $9.50. I would be more comfortable paying $5.50.7ish before tax. The place itself is cute and clean. I would go back with friends since they have different flavors such as ube, but likely not regularly due to it's high price.

Thai Tea Cup

Probably the most authentic tasting Thai tea ice cream I've ever had. The tea flavor is very prominent in each bite and the orange color is vibrant. Not too sweet but just right. I like the blue and white aesthetic of the shop. I also enjoy the fact that you can sample the flavors beforehand.

Haven't been to this Soft Swerve spot before so stopped by after having lunch in the area. Fast service from friendly staff. Three white bar tables and 12 teal blue bar stools available for customers. Should be enough seating since I don't see as many people as the Flushing & Lower East Side locations. Ambiance is simple, similar to the other locations too with the signature sky blue-and-white walls. They sell both hand-scooped (hard) ice cream and soft serve of different Asian-inspired flavors like black sesame, Thai iced tea, matcha, ube, strawberry lychee, and Vietnamese coffee....just to name a few examples. They sell ice cream floats, in pints, and milkshakes as well. There're different toppings but will cost an extra 75¢ for each type of toppings and/or drizzles that you want. I just did an ube soft serve without any toppings in a cup because ice cream itself is already pretty expensive, not gonna let the price of toppings piling up for no reason by adding 2-3 types. Total comes out to be $8.17 alone. Not gonna have this often, but it's good to treat yourself once in a while. The ube is flavorful, has such a creamy texture, and doesn't taste too sweet. Definitely my kind of ice cream! Will come back next time I'm in Kips Bay.

Ube and black sesame swirl, vanilla swirl.

Overall it was a great experience. They let you sample all the flavors and the store employees are really nice. I got the Ube and black sesame swirl. I wouldn't recommend getting the combo since you really can't taste the ube. The black sesame is too overpowering.

non dairy taro

soft swerve happened to be open during my visit in new york i liked that there were non dairy flavors also the service was good even being patient with a local who hasnt been here before the ambiance was a walk in ice cream scoopery i think the one thing that could have changed is if your friends come to visit that it doesnt distract your customers from enjoying their ice cream

Strawberry Lychee Scoop
Oscar L.

The strawberry lychee ice cream was pretty good, but it was a little more milky than fruity than I would've liked. A scoop is about $7.50. Service is quick because they just scoop right in front of you. There's three small tables inside to sit and enjoy your order.

Swerve is right. Just when you think you've entered a standard froyo shop, you feel you swerved into an Asian-inspired land of creamy confection. Jamie W. and I were wrapping up a Manhattan weekender and on our way back to the hotel to pick up our bags. It was an unusually balmy afternoon... So something sweet sounded good to pick up our spirits before our long flight home.I was enthralled by the sight of exotic flavors like Strawberry Lychee, Almond Cookie, and Hong Kong Milk Tea. Jamie was just grateful there were familiar flavors like chocolate and vanilla available. Cups were $7 with a two-flavor twist option. Of course Jamie went for the Vanilla and Frozen Hot Chocolate Swirl (photo: https://yelp.to/3uhel8Z3vP), while I went for Ube and Thai Tea epoxied with chocolate sprinkles (photo: https://yelp.to/RyDDOP0gBV). We were both pleased as the flavors tasted fresh and not congealed. The sprinkles were probably overkill, but I was on vacation, so what the hell. FROYO - 4 stars...a fresh Asian flair to their froyo AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...looks like a regular froyo shop SERVICE - 4 stars...very efficient TOTAL - 4 stars...a unique froyo on Third RELATED - Eating your way through NYC? Surprised me as I only came here since Cafe Panna was closed! But the Asian-inspired flavors are delicious, and they have both vegan (oat milk based) and normal ice cream! The "soft swerve" is dairy based, and they had hot chocolate, vanilla, ube, and Thai tea flavors. I ended up getting the ube and Thai tea swirl on a waffle cone, and it was delicious! The flavors are very potent, only downside is that it's quite pricy, $9.50! Would say it's nice for a special treat and definitely to share!

matcha ube swirl soft serve

loved the matcha x ube soft serve swirl ($7.50)! both flavors were pretty strong and not too sweet. you could also go for their hand scooped ice cream instead which has more flavors. the employees were really friendly and offered us samples as well.

Ube Soft Serve
Pratima M.

An Asian-inspired dessert spot serving up delicious ice cream and soft-serve -- stopped by for a post-dinner snack. I really loved the Asian flavors, with my favorites being HK Milk Tea, Black Sesame and Taro... they seriously NAILED the flavors and it's all so nostalgic. I got the Ube soft serve and loved the texture. IMO a bit on the pricey side, but the portions are generous so you can share with a friend!

Soft swerve is just so much yes!!! The ube soft serve is insane and the lil mochi on top is everything. I'd like to try more flavors but the ube has me in a choke hold. This place is insanely overpriced for soft serve icecream and yet I'll still run back at the first opportunity

Amazing Ice Cream Shop on East 10th Street off 3rd Avenue…read more Awesome selection of ice cream and gelato in traditional and unique flavors, many Asian, like lavender, ginger, etc. They have a frequent visitor membership rewards and bet there are many, like myself, who take advantage given frequent visits year round. The service is always great. Sometimes the Moms and Dads visiting their kids at NYU clog up the front with a LOT of questions, but usually very quick for a large waffle cone with 2 scoops. If dining at other venues in the area, skip desert and stop here for a special treat!

Don't remember what I had the previous 20+ years I went there after a group dinner. This time I was influenced & specifically took a bus over for their corn ice cream. It's STILL the summer of corn. Prices are now average - good for a scoop $7.50 & the portion is good compared to other craft ice cream shops in LES. The corn flavor was good. Medium flavor with that corn sweetness. The quality of the ice cream was excellent, medium creamy & very smooth with the teeniest bit of corn blended. Sampled the hazelnut which was great also - like a thick gelato. Would like to try the lychee next time. They have probably 20 different flavors, displayed well. The staff is patient & very nice. The space is very big for a business in the East Village with mostly a waiting area. 4-5 seats are up front & they set up a few plastic chairs on the side. On a 90°F day, the shop was filled with customers & groups. A stantion at the door with directions for 2 lines would help manage things better.
