Here is the good news; Dr. Engleha is a good vet. She is very thorough. Here is the bad news; the cost for a shot of ProHeart 12 was $400.23. This was for a dog that weighs 120.40 lbs. I called the vets on S.Bumby to ask what it would cost for the same shot at the same weight, they stated $207.00. I know where I will go for this shot in the future. read more

They used to be the best and left another Vet for them. Looks like now I will be leaving for a new vet. They have incredibly rude people on the front line. Already asked three times to send data to my insurance company. And they state they have not been contacted by my carrier after the insurance company called me three times stating they had. Now the crabby lady at the vet will not send my dogs records to me so I can do her job!!!! It was an expensive bill I prepaid !! Means nothing to the vet now so why should they bother is the attitude I get! So, this is my last episode with them. If you want great after service, DO NOT USE them!!!! read more

SODO Vet has been my pup Bentley's vet since we moved to the area about three years ago. The have been excellent for annual care throughout the year. This year we found out they are phenomenal with emergency/urgent care as well. Bentley was admitted to the vet hospital twice this year for two separate diagnoses, the most recent being a severe case of pancreatitis. The team at SODO Vet took care of Bentley as if he was their pet. The communicated well with me, provided treatment options and updates frequently. After discharge, they called to check in and see how he was recovering. I could tell they genuinely cared for Bentley and myself. The entire team is kind, professional, patient, and compassionate. The team has a family feel and makes you feel as if you are a part of their family. This is what sets them apart from other vets in the area. I trust them with my pups care, as I know they have his best interest at heart. I highly recommend SODO Vet for your pet healthcare needs. If I could give negative stars, I would. My vet I usually go to is not participating in day boarding. My husband and I need to work so we found this vet. My dog has hookworms, he's only 3 months old, and has no rabies shot due to being sick and needing healing time. I called and spoke with Victor (Client Service Specialist) he said it's okay that our dog goes to their boarding. Once Victor said they will accept my dog for day boarding and keep him isolated, we scheduled an appointment (it is a requirement prior to day boarding). At the appointment we met with Dr. Juan Patino on Friday. We told him our situation with our dog and showed him all of the previous vet exam results and he insisted on taking a fecal exam and waiting until Monday to receive fecal results as well as medication for my puppy (although we've already told him that we noticed blood in my puppy's stool.) We were already required to pay $72 for the exam and then the additional $48.99 for the fecal exam. Monday morning I go to drop off my puppy and when I get there, the receptionist stated that my dog needed a rabies shot prior to boarding and that they will keep him "for now" until the vet comes and they will let us know if our puppy can stay. The rabies shot requirement was not mentioned on the phone nor at the exam on Friday. I left my dog due to having to go to work and I receive a call 2 hour later saying that they can't keep my dog because he doesn't have a rabies shot. I let them know that my husband nor I are able to pick up my dog so the vet said they'd keep my dog for the day but moving forward they were unable to keep my dog without the rabies shot. I also want to mention that THEY DID NOT FEED MY PUPPY LUNCH while he was there, I'm assuming out of spite. Also, my dog was also covered in his feces when I picked him up. Safe to say we will not be returning to this vet. They are greedy, money hungry, unprofessional, and this staff lacks communication not only within their office but with their clients as well. If you can save yourself the money, save your pet from torture, and find a vet that actually cares for them! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

My cat was hit by a car 2 days ago. We found him laying, motionless and bleeding at our doorstep at 4:15pm. When we called our current vet, (Sodo Vetrinary Hospital, formerly Kirkpatrick) they refused to take us because they were "too busy" to see my dying cat, a regular patient of theirs. We crossed our fingers hoping he would remain alive until Vet Emergency Clinic opened at 6pm. I am so disappointed in how we were treated. I will never go back to this establishment. read more

The vet I spoke with was knowledgeable and also very kind. I would recommend this vet to anyone! Very thankful for this place, I just moved to FL and woke up one morning to my dog not being able to open his eyes. I went to one vet and they wouldn't even bother seeing me due to me not having an appointment. Called this place and at first you can tell they were gonna tell me the same thing but the receptionist actually gave cared and asked me what was going on. My cat, Winnie, has some anxiety and is a bit of a spaz. So when we started packing the house to move across the state she started yanking out hair and over licking her hiney causing it to become inflamed. As soon as I noticed her inflammation down there (at 2:00 on a Friday for goodness sake) I called Kirkpatrick Vet because they are close. They told me to come on in and they would squeeze us in somehow. Winnie and I were there in 10 minutes. We filled out an information sheet and were called back within 15 minutes. The tech took Winnie to the back to take all of her vitals and returned with Winnie and the doctor. He stated that he had cleaned her up and gave her a steroid shot. He answered all of my questions and we were in and out! Also the nurses were all so nice and it didn't cost me a fortune! If we weren't moving this would be our permanent spot. They were patient and kind with my ill-behaved, aggressive cat. The doctor provided a diagnosis for a condition that a prior vet couldn't diagnose. My boxer and I were so lucky to have found this place!!! We are on vacation and she developed an ear infection. After calling three other animal hospitals who couldn't see us, I called Kirkpatrick and was able to get an appointment. The staff is so friendly and all were great with my dog. I didn't even make it to the service... I waited almost a hour in an empty vet office to see the vet. It was my first time there. I can understand busy office, things happen, appointments get backed up, but there was no other patients there. I doubt the vet was even in the building for my appointment time. When I was finally being moved again for another wait, I was so fed up I decided to leave. That is when the vet decided to come out of his office, and question when my appointment was. Our dog, Taye, has had a few vets but when we found Dr. Patino and his team, we knew we'd found his forever vet. We've been going to Kirkpatrick for the past 7 or 8 years and have always found them to be like extended family. They take care of Taye so well, whether they're giving him a nail trim, doing dental work or tending to anything that ails Taye. They are extremely supportive and transparent, talking through any home care or questions we may have. I have recommended Dr. Patino to many of my friends and extend that recommendation to anyone!
