A bizarre experience. Went there for the first time, based on mostly good reviews. Appt. made on…read morephone the day before with "Jason". At the counter no record of appt. was made. Three guys milling behind the counter began to question me about the necessity of the battery/alternator check I was there for (!?). One gentleman rolled his eyes. I felt as if I was a bother to them being there. Strange. I expected someone to yell "Smile, you're on Candid Camera." I walked out, shaking my head, thinking did this really happen. I'd pay cash (net) for the car and they'd take my car in trade. I live about 3 hours away so the next day I drive over and we both inspected the vehicles. I wrote a check and the dark was done ---- BUT, they only had ONE KEY FOB for the Ford. The salesman (Jay Varpness) told me the key was at their other dealership and he'd get it and mail it to me the following day. LIE # 1 I contacted Jay a week later and was told it had been mailed. LIE # 2 Two more weeks go by -- and no key. I AGAIN contact Jay and I'm now told they actually DON'T have the key at all and they'd order one. TRUTH, but disappointing. Months go by and no key --- I call repeatedly. Still on back order. I suggest that I order a key from my local dealership and send him the bill. Jay refuses. Another disappointment. Finally -- FOUR months later I get the key but it's NOT PROGRAMMED so I have to spend $50 at my local dealership to make the key "usable." Another disappointment. I sent Jay the bill and got no response. Nothing. I texted a few days later --- no response. Another week goes by and I call --- he doesn't pick up. I try 5 more times over the next few days. He never picks up. I finally call and leave a voicemail. I was VERY direct and probably not very nice ..... told him to fix the problem or I would escalate it. This is the text I received: Greg, I got you the 2nd fob for the escape. You chose to have it programmed at Sioux falls ford, that is not my responsibility as you could have had it done here.
