Last week my mother in law fell and broke her hip and we were unable to get her into this facility due to insurance . I put in a call to Carol in billing and she spent her time for several days to assist us in helping to get her into Palm Garden. She went above and beyond when she didn't have to help. This is why I highly recommend Palm Garden in Vero Beach because they demonstrate genuine concern for residents as well as family members!! Wonderful care and staff! The facility was very clean and well maintained. When I had an issue with the AC the maintenance team promptly addressed it. The food was very good, I enjoyed it mostly. I felt well attended to, although on a few occasions it did take a bit of time for the staff to come to my room. My only real complaint, is that I was there to regain my strength after an illness. Unfortunately, being confined to a wheelchair 90% of the time, weakened me and caused edema in my legs. I was only allowed to use the walker during PT. I lost strength and agility not being allowed to use it. This should be addressed. All in all, I would recommend Palm Garden to those needing rehab.

If you are angry and resentful at what cards you have been dealt and choose to blame everyone else for your problems, you will be miserable here because you are miserable everywhere. There were spills (looked like dried urine), dirt, candies, and hair all over the ground. I don't think the floors have been cleaned in weeks. I know for a fact it had been days because my mother had visited it before my father was admitted and all the stains on the floor were still there. There were also clumps of hair stuck in the hand railings. The hallways smelled terrible. I understand nursing homes/rehab centers can have occasional odors, but the smell did not diminish over the several hours I was there with my father. I left to find another facility and when I returned, my mother mentioned to the nurse that we were having him transferred. She told me she was about to bathe him because he was smelling "ripe." But then she said to me, "I was going to bathe him, but now that you're moving him I guess I won't." He smelled badly because he soiled himself!! She refused to change him and he sat in his own feces until the transport company arrived and delivered him to the new facility. This is basic human dignity that he was denied! I am appalled and furious. I will be reporting them to the Health Care Administration. Families, please beware!

My nephew after 2 months needed IOP program/ residential halfway house to transition into after rehab. I found the name Phoenix Rising and called. Raul was quick to get my payment before anything was even signed. No emails or any sort of contract/confirmation. Preying on a family's desperation, Raul used this against us to demand the money up front. My nephew was not even in transit to the facility yet and Raul demanded $3,000 wired over before he even arrived. The rehab facility drove him to Pheonix Rising in Vero Beach FL and immediately my nephew felt extremely uncomfortable and honestly unsafe. It was filthy, unsanitary, and not fit for living. After 1 hour, we immediately moved him to another facility/residential halfway house in Jensen beach. Pheonix Rising refuses to give the money back after numerous attempts to communicate with them. We will be calling the Board of Health for Vero Beach, the Florida State Board of Health, and the Better Business Bureau so no other families can be scammed and hurt like we were. Please do your research and avoid this facility!!!!!
