The lost many of the teachers and staff who made it better. The new staff do not have the level of compassion and care for special needs children. They believe some kids are worth keeping, and others are not. Extremely disappointing.

the principal is very unprofessional same with some teachers...as you can tell i used to this…read moreschool as the school helped me to make this account and i recovered it to write this,im writing a review for this school because i want my voice heard after being scared to tell what happened to me, now im not going to say the names of anyone or the whole story because for privacy reasons and i dont want dumb drama just because i wanted to speak up and i don't want a another kid deal with the same thing i had to...some of the teachers are very unprofessional...one day my mom sent a email regarding one my issues...i told unnamed teacher to look at the email and she said "your mom doesn't pay my paychecks she isn't the boss of me" because of what she said made me have a anxiety attack i had to go to the front office because i started feeling dizzy...i feel like if you go to a special needs school, teachers will be more understanding but i guess not...their was some drama i had with another kid I'm not going to say their name they went to the office and told the school about our drama...instead siting down with both students to see what happening like any professional should do...she came to me and yelled at me in front of everyone, causing me have a big anxiety attack...first of all if you are a human with common sense that's the worst way to fix problems especially if the kid has SPECIAL NEEDS... the principal doesn't even have the full story to even take action yet...i mean this kindly but to be honest that is very arrogant of her... she threaten me to EXPEL me if i kept miss behaving...i was scared to talk...i cried at home for weeks i was terrified...i had nightmares of losing my life...if that goes to my record i wont be able to seek higher education...i felt like i will lose everything...psychology wise if someone is force to stay quiet about something, some day it will spill....i felt sadness,resentment,angry...i became so unstable that it spilled...i started talking about what happened ...the next day i was kicked out..i lost it, i thought i lost my life that i will never become anything if that stained my record...my mom told me its not on there. But at first i didn't believe her but i soon did... i want to write a review for closure as i felt so much resentment I'm not writing this to make more drama i just want peace of mind and to warn other future students...i guess the principal can now say that i am scaring off her students to come back to school...if the principal seeing this, accusations is going to be the death of you and if any my old classmates see this Hello...if any moms or dads thinking taking their kid there, just take in consideration i had to say.....thank you for reading this all and have a wonderful day Ps they also Autism speaks which is known for being bad https://www.autismspeaks.org/provider/arbor-school-central-florida and heres a video of Autism Speaks being really bad https://youtu.be/5Va_XXoD5LE

I…read moredecided to transfer my youngest child from the public school she was attending after a few bad years. Getting the postcard in the mail telling me that OCPA was opening was honestly one of the best things that could have happened. Before I switched my daughter I did my research about charter schools and the company that manages OCPA, Charter School Associates. I'd recommend any parents that are considering it do the same research. I found that they had several good schools, and I was hopeful that this new one would follow in those same footsteps. So, as for my review of the school... the beginning of the school year was rough, with the expected growing pains and some unexpected ones. Traffic was a nightmare, the principal left, and loads of other little things. Now, at the half way point in the year it appears that most things have been smoothed out. And I am very happy we switched. I love that this school is a K-8 school (currently to 7th, but 8th is supposed to be added next year). The school is supposed to focus on STEM, and in the fall all grades participated in a school-wide science fair. For a new school they have really hit the ground running with awesome events for the kids. At Halloween they had a trunk-or-treat, which was loads of fun. They also did a storybook day and had a school-wide fairy tale bowl with questions about the stories. The school provides after school tutoring and several clubs. The addition of clubs came later in the year than I would have liked, but we are really happy about the options. My daughter is in the after care program. One huge perk over the public school she was at is that they only charge you for days the child attends. Since my daughter only has to go to after care a few days a week I save money by not having to pay for the whole week like I used to. Since this is a charter school they wear uniforms. They had a few sales events at the school where we could purchase them and I had no problems with the uniform company. So far my daughter really likes wearing the uniform, and it makes getting ready in the morning super easy. That's all I can think of. I'm assuming if you are reading this review you may be thinking about switching to the school, so feel free to send me a note and I'll answer questions.

Yes, OCPA does have its positives and negatives, like any other school might. But OCPA's very accessible administration and small classroom sizes lend a very personal touch to each child's learning experience. The principal, Mr Higgins, and fellow administrator, Mr Austin, have been consistent and dedicated contributions to OCPA's improvement this year. Under this new leadership, I have seen more new programming such as organized athletic teams with winning records, various educational/STEM nights, and fun field days, just to name a few that I've personally participated in. I believe the structure and culture that Higgins and Austin have instilled have grown the school's support staff and allowed for some great momentum this year. For that, I give OCPA 4 stars. With only more improvement in OCPA's future, I am sure that it will earn the 5th star sooner than later!

First off I'll just go right out the gate and tell you I give willow school five stars. Why do you…read moresay? Because of willow school is a private school like no other and that is why I drive 40 miles each way every single day to take my son there. There are very few, if any other schools, like willow school in the Orlando area whatsoever. The market need for remedial education schools that focus Inc. Lee much so on scholastic information and as I said true remedial and or intervention. The marketplace however does not meet the need anywhere within the Orlando's area. Last year there were two campuses, one in Winter Springs the original location and an expansion location in Maitland on Maitland Boulevard. As of May 2015 no 2016 the Maitland campus was closed due to low attendance. Just being honest. The original Winter Springs location is still there and it all students transferred over that desire to stay with the school for the 2016 2017 school year. So OK, there you have a little bit of background information to better understand the dynamics of the school how when and where they tried to expand etc. let's take a moment to talk about what really matters and that's the school itself... My son has auditory processing disorder. What is it? Basically get a nutshell it's like every single sound in every single room is all the same volume. The clock ticking say volume. Someone talking exactly volume ticket. Quiet music in the background exactly volume is everything else. The moving of a chair or the clanking of dishes at a restaurant bar in the distant background all the same volume. Now, this is something we been working with since he was three years old and he has made tremendous progress, and let me know that the largest games in any sort of areas of personal and scholastic growth have happened at primarily while at willow school. The class sizes are small, I believe my son has between 67 students on average in his class. One thing that is absolutely stupendous about the school is that there is no standardize placement in grade level for reading and math. You are in your grade level at your place into the appropriate map and or reading class in order to ensure that you are performing the best at the levels would you are currently cable. This is why the school focuses on intervention of education for reading and writing and is not a specialty school for autism. They do not have a behavior list on South so aid are not equipped to handle students with autism nor is it their focus. There's nothing wrong with that whatsoever I believe that is actually much better for pure transparency and to let PEREZ know what you're searching and mostly for the right school for the child that this cool is not a possibility. They have a fairly structured and Spero application and shadowing process for a child maybe in rolled into the school. This is not an elitist Dave approach, but rather one that focuses on match in the child with the correct school. That is there golf match the child with the correct school if they're good match for willow school, then they will join the family. My sons reading progress over the course of last year expanded for groove by two grade level's within the first nine months at the school, you can just do it that's not incredible gain and remediation it is purest sense. The status amazing, it's a small school, but the staff is outstanding and I could ask for no more. Leslie I would like to address comments on after-school activities. With a student body under 100 is very difficult to find a one-size-fits-all afterschool activity Thomas boards, recreation, are, music or whatever have you been to the school is first through 12 grade fully accredited to graduate students By the state to Florida. It should be doing noted that will a student do 95% of their homework at school intentionally. Why you ask? Because the school acknowledgeable to the fact that the children need others drive long distances (like me) so they want the kids to be able to be involved near home. My son does Karate, golf and cub scouts in our hood with kids from our area.....that makes sense if you ask me. What's the bottom line? The schools amazing. It may not be for everyone, but is just what my son needed. Small classes. Intensive education. And non-traditional approaches to teaching reading and writing that are scientifically proven. If I could afford to send my other two kids it good to public-school to willow school simply because it will not only catch children up to grade level but they will also continue to have them excel past their grade level in preparation for college. It may not be for everyone like a said but is just right place for us. So if you're looking give them a call and administration Staff will take it from there. You will NOT be disappointed.

Come to find out (after several emails requesting to know more about their request for a SECOND assessment), they are very critical of your child. Preschool Director Betsey Vallery states in her email to me: "[Student] was very interested in the items in our classroom and such a sweet little boy. He did have difficulty following teacher one-step instructions and redirection. For example, when the teacher called [Student] to small group to draw, he ran around the carpet area. The teacher came alongside him and told him to please use his walking feet and modeled her walking feet. This gentle redirection is usually very successful as it's 1:1 in this assessment setting, but he continued to run." [Student] had just turned four only three days prior to the assessment. He's extremely responsive with adult direction, and I find this commentary completely inappropriate. As a former teacher myself, this is not even something that should be a concern. In addition, she states that [Student] didn't know how to write name, draw a self portrait, count to 10 or identify shapes, all of which he's been able to do for more than a year. I wasn't there in the assessment, but I do wonder about the effectiveness of the teacher to inspire participation. I felt that this was not an age-appropriate Pre-K. They want students that already know what they need to know for kindergarten so they don't have to do their jobs in teaching them.

Many of us are sacrificing a great deal to give our children a Christian education, yet we feel unheard, unsupported, and taken for granted. The administration in the office does not reflect the values of grace, compassion, or fairness that a Christian school should uphold. It truly hurts to watch good families struggle while feeling dismissed or ignored. I respectfully ask that you take time to truly listen--not just to one voice, but to the parents who are living these struggles every day. Be careful going to this school pastor Scott Dr P. this school isn't a real christian school they only care for money these teachers are not really certified... Please think twice before enrolling your child in this school. Based on my personal experience, I do not believe this is a true Christian school. It feels more like a business than a ministry. They seem more focused on collecting money than truly caring for the students or families. Some students attend for free while others are charged full tuition--this is unfair and not transparent. The administration lacks compassion, and several teachers seem uninterested in the well-being and academic success of the students. Christian values like kindness, fairness, and respect should be visible in every part of a school--especially one that claims to follow Jesus. Sadly, I did not see that here.
