The architecture alone is worth the visit, a preserved 1901 gem with rich wood, exposed brick, and ornate touches that make the place feel more like a museum than a retail store. But make no mistake: this store is alive and buzzing with charm, boots, and damn good people. We were greeted immediately by a tall gal (whose name I regret not asking) who handed my wife a sparkling water with all the grace of a Southern debutante. While my wife was lovingly coached through boot options by Suzie, aka the female Johnny Cash, I struck up a conversation with Bob, who told me the backstory of how he ended up with Tecovas. The man has stories that could fill a leather-bound novel. The entire vibe? Relaxed, intentional, human. No rush, no pressure, no chaos, just folks who clearly love what they do. That's a far cry from the hustle and bustle of some other Tecovas locations (cough cough South Congress in Austin). Even though this store has only been open a couple of weeks, you'd never know it. Everything ran smooth, the displays were beautiful, and the service was polished like a new pair of ropers. It is a little area in the center of the room where you can write down prayers on a tag and hang it on the wall. Others are encouraged to take a tag and become a Prayer Warrior for the person who left the prayer. Today, was a very impactful visit for me. I went into Philanthropy with a heavy heart because we found out our good friend that has been battling cancer was moved to hospice. The prayer room gave me peace & I left feeling a little lighter. First, they said the owner was out of the country, and the last 4 calls they promised a callback after speaking to the owner and manager. Still haven't heard back from them. The store presents itself as a Christian business and has a prayer room inside, which makes the lack of accountability and customer care especially disappointing. I expected the product to be better quality and, at the very least, for someone to follow up and make it right. I hope the store resolves this promptly and begins treating customer concerns with the integrity its branding suggests.

The selection of plants, including low maintenance cacti of all types, is impressive! You have to see their arrangements of dried foliage accompanied by one live plant that needs very little water, practically self sustaining. The seasonal items for Halloween and Thanksgiving are so wonderful! The staff is helpful and friendly. And the outdoor space features many lovely plants as well. She was taking back by the line of questions coming from the cashier and store manager. She was asked why we she did not wore the dress sooner, we were asked to supply our telephone number which we did. Thinking that they were going to be able to find the purchase and have the sensor removed. The store manager mentioned that she remembered the dress which I doubt because the dress was bought on clearance eight months ago and neither the sales reps or managers stay on the job that long. Very high turnover. My wife felt very uncomfortable and somewhat angry, since it was their mistake for not taking off the sensor at the time of purchase. At the end the store manager said the she was going to make an exception for taking off the store sensor, what did she meant by that, was she going to keep the dress that my wife purchased or not taking off the sensor because she did have a purchase receipt from eight months ago. Did she think we were not going to call the police if she decided to keep the dress?

The owner was present that day and said it must have gone to charity if it had been there too long. I got nothing for my COACH purse, not even the benefit of the donation. My frustration was in their record keeping. She acted like I was trying to scam her or something, even though the sales lady knew me and remembered the item. Why was there no record of what had happened to my purse? The owner IS very rude also. That was my LAST experience there.
