It was a cold November night but the facially was well heated it has radiant floor heating which is great because the take your shoes when they intake you. The beds are steel with no mattress in the "drunk tank" so you really can't sleep but by that time I had made some friends in there and just hangout all night. In the morning they let us go to a waiting room till we finish sobering up. They fed us breakfast it was just cereal but it good hangover food. The one thing I did not appreciate was when one of the officers changed the tv channel to a marathon of Nash Bridges that was cruel and unusable punishment I had to sit there for five hours and watch it till I was able to "blow" a .07 or better so I could leave. I did stay for lunch which was a peanut butter sandwich and that was not too bad. Bottom line I was respectful of the officers and I was treated pretty will in return. I would not want to come back to this establishment, but if I had to go back to jail I would want to go to this one. Thanks for a memorable night butte county hope I never come back

I would like to also thank Miss Mayfield and Miss Meliane. For the coffee and the bubbly water that you ladies provide to us workers. I would also like to say thank you for all the old timers that are still there miss sodemburg, officer Leonard, Hayes, belkie, freeze, Truman, Hancock for being there and making the jail fantastic as it is. This fish hatchery area was so amazing. The Oroville dam right there and the fish ladder is so…read morecool. Very very long so plenty of room during the busy season. They even have an underwater viewing area. The hatchery was closed the day we went as it was Easter Sunday 2025. No salmon were running at the time as it is not the time they return. The view alone was worth it. Be cautious of rattlesnakes.

Went camping over the weekend at Loafer Creek. Stayed in site 94. They've cleared a lot of the…read moreunderbrush around that site so not nearly as much privacy as in previous years. The a holes in spot 132 decided to party until 4 o'clock in the morning and keep everybody up. Thanks for that. Lots of clean bathrooms, and a central shower area in the first loop provides reasonably priced showers with both hot and cold water. Apparently, there are no evening patrols in this particular campground. No enforcement of the reasonable time to be quiet. When we informed the people at the gate on the way out, they just looked at us blankly. I guess we'll have to contact the district office. Cell phone reception was mixed. People with AT&T did not seem to have good cell phone reception in most places. I have T-Mobile and got two bars in most places. My friend who had Verizon had full service and 5G If you get a chance, go to the waffle shop in town. That's literally the name of the restaurant. See Rachel at the counter for excellent service. Also in the area not to be missed is Jake's burgers.
