It was a cold November night but the facially was well heated it has radiant floor heating which is great because the take your shoes when they intake you. The beds are steel with no mattress in the "drunk tank" so you really can't sleep but by that time I had made some friends in there and just hangout all night. In the morning they let us go to a waiting room till we finish sobering up. They fed us breakfast it was just cereal but it good hangover food. The one thing I did not appreciate was when one of the officers changed the tv channel to a marathon of Nash Bridges that was cruel and unusable punishment I had to sit there for five hours and watch it till I was able to "blow" a .07 or better so I could leave. I did stay for lunch which was a peanut butter sandwich and that was not too bad. Bottom line I was respectful of the officers and I was treated pretty will in return. I would not want to come back to this establishment, but if I had to go back to jail I would want to go to this one. Thanks for a memorable night butte county hope I never come back

I would like to also thank Miss Mayfield and Miss Meliane. For the coffee and the bubbly water that you ladies provide to us workers. I would also like to say thank you for all the old timers that are still there miss sodemburg, officer Leonard, Hayes, belkie, freeze, Truman, Hancock for being there and making the jail fantastic as it is. A beautiful spot and great place to visit to check out the salmon run. It is incredible to learn…read morehow the cycle works for these amazing fish as they spawn and travel the distance they do to breed every year. The Hatchery helps out and provides a boost to what occurs naturally. Park in the free lot and take the walking path, ADA accessible, read the signs to learn more as you see the salmon swim against the current by the hundreds in the spillways, and thousands in the river. This is seasonal, so not every visit may have anything to see. Google the best times to go, however it is a nice walk. Make your way down the rocks to get closer to the river if you are a bit adventurous, before heading to the Hatchery side for the final leg located across the street. Great spot! Self paced walking tour, maybe can take 30 minutes to an hour.

This is a pretty neat place and unique but I can't go there unless it's 70 or under out because of the absolutely searing sun. It destroys me and makes it so I can't have a good time. Otherwise it's Unique and as long as you go between now and early Oct there is something to see. Otherwise there's not much to see at all because it's not salmon season.

We were there for a Bachelorette party and it was definitely a memorable experience! We were a tad concerned upon our arrival because of the lady at the entrance... Susan. Such a rude human being!! We are not mean people nor do I believe we come off that way. But she wasn't very open with directions on what to do/where to go for our reservations and i think she assumed we knew what to do which we didn't. Then she gave us this look and said "don't even think about LOOKING at your campsite until 4..." LOL. We were kind of dumbfounded by her statement.. "Don't even look at it? Really?? Lol ok Susan...I'll close my eyes. We will definitely be back next year because aside from her, everyone else at the marina specifically were outstanding! Hopefully we don't have to deal with her again. Look out for Susan ha. But Jesse and Tony came through for us on several occasions, thank you!!

Went camping over the weekend at Loafer Creek. Stayed in site 94. They've cleared a lot of the…read moreunderbrush around that site so not nearly as much privacy as in previous years. The a holes in spot 132 decided to party until 4 o'clock in the morning and keep everybody up. Thanks for that. Lots of clean bathrooms, and a central shower area in the first loop provides reasonably priced showers with both hot and cold water. Apparently, there are no evening patrols in this particular campground. No enforcement of the reasonable time to be quiet. When we informed the people at the gate on the way out, they just looked at us blankly. I guess we'll have to contact the district office. Cell phone reception was mixed. People with AT&T did not seem to have good cell phone reception in most places. I have T-Mobile and got two bars in most places. My friend who had Verizon had full service and 5G If you get a chance, go to the waffle shop in town. That's literally the name of the restaurant. See Rachel at the counter for excellent service. Also in the area not to be missed is Jake's burgers.
