But I have really liked coming to this DMV since it was built. The old tiny one was horrible! This one is large, open, with 11 service windows to keep the line moving. There are also drive thru windows if you don't want to get out of your car. The last time I was here, I went through the drive thru and it was pretty slick. Today I chose to come inside and rub elbows with the common folk. Even though it was busy, the wait wasn't terribly long - maybe 20 minutes with 7 windows operating. Don't complain, people. Play a game on your phone, text your mom and say hi, and write a few Yelp reviews! The time will fly by. During the pandemic, masks are required to come inside. Chairs are spread out to accomplish social distancing. You can also make an appointment, which will reduce your wait time even more. You can schedule it online at www.dmv.utah.gov The employees here are friendly and very good at their jobs, even during this craziness with COVID. So glad I live in Davis County!

One set of paperwork twice. Had had to fill out all kinds of paperwork because the title had a / between The two people who owned the ATVs names, Supposedly in DMV talk that means "and" I always thought it could mean "OR"..... I've had titles with both names on it with the wording AND, and the wording of Or. Nonetheless, I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork because I only had one person signed the title. Reminding you this was a $200 purchase. I had to call my wife and have her take a picture. I had to send an email with the photograph to the Farmington DMV. Honestly, folks they work for us. This government run around is BS!!!!

I made a non emergency call to this police department this week after being concerned about a post…read moreon a friends Facebook. People were making comments in line with my thoughts, and I decided to call and ask if they could do a wellness check. I explained everything, and the dispatcher was extremely nice to me. (Not something I'm used to here locally, sadly). I left my name and number but asked to remain anonymous should the person they are checking on asked. I spent probably a good 5 or so minutes on the phone with dispatch. A bit later my phone rang, with an unknown number. I had a feeling it was related to this, so I answered. It was the officer calling me back to give me an update. Also something I am not used to here, locally. I am so appreciative for everything related to this. From the second I called to the time I hung up with the officer. Everything was ok - but had I ignored my feeling and something happened with my friend, I never would have forgiven myself for ignoring my gut feeling. Thank you to the dispatcher, and officer for everything. You are amazing. And thank you for everything you do, every day. You are all true heroes.

My job as an investigator in the private sector means that sometimes I have to send the bad guy or girl to jail. People steal and if they didn't, I would probably be doing something else for a living. As a professional interrogator, I have learned that people steal out of need, greed, and opportunity. I get the "need" and even "opportunity" reasons. But when a suspect takes advantage and gets greedy, then I have no choice to get the local PD involved. My company has a good history with the Layton City Police Department. Anytime we have an issue and their assistance is needed, they're always quick to respond. Keep in mind, I work in Vegas too and sometimes PD response is over an hour. Layton is quick. I was recently at the Layton City Police Department to file charges against a couple of thieves. I came prepared with their confession statements, video evidence, and paper trail. The process is simple here. There's a phone at the station that I had to pick up and talk to dispatch. Dispatch took my info and sent an officer to meet me. I met with the officer and we discussed my case in the interview room. I could tell that the officer was very interested in my case. He took my evidence, wrote his statement, and gave me the case numbers. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. It's a breath of fresh air when I deal with PD that's willing to take one of my cases. In SoCal or Las Vegas, a lot of cases get dropped because PD either takes too long to respond or have bigger fish to fry. I like the fact that Layton is a smaller city. This library is NOT bike friendly. No common sense going on here. On a rainy day I parked my loaded…read morebike under the eave so it wouldn't get wet. I was on a bike tour (this means I was traveling by bike since I know you locals don't know about bike tours). The bike was completely out of the way of everyone. Common sense told me not to park it at the rack where the rain would soak my clothing, sleeping bag, etc. 2 hrs and 45 min later one of the staff told me I had to move it because where it was (any place but at the rack) was prohibited. I was informed that my bike was "vandalizing" the BRICK WALL. No lie - she and then the manager actually said this with straight faces. I asked for the manager. She came and the dance had to be played again. When I asked her to show me the damage the best she could do was give me a blank stare. Yet another American moving along in life as a zombie, doing as she's told just so she can have an undeserved pension in 20 yrs. Since she couldn't concieve of following common sense instead of rules, I gathered my things and left. However, while I waited for the rain to subside before taking off on my steed, within 10 minutes of each other, 2 employees came outside to check on me. They pretended to be doing something else, but it was obvious why they'd come out. The 2nd one even lied to me about it. The pretentiousness of this library doesn't match the state of the city it lies in. You'd think these people would have better things to do than to focus all their energy on a bike minding its own business leaning against a BRICK WALL.

It was literally shaking my windows on the fifth floor. I called the police department. It is now 930 and the guy is gone and no-show. Not a call not a response at all. Totally useless. Dogs are up here every day of a week unleashed and I've probably seen a police officer up here twice. There are a few officers on the force that are not honest. I have a girlfriend who drinks and drives quite often and the Ogden Police Dept covers up for her because her husband was a police officer. Just like most Ogden Police Dept has some bad seeds.
