This could not have been easier. We arrived at 8:30 and got in line. We were 4th. At 9:00 the door opened, everyone went in, registered at the kiosk and sat down. We sat for maybe 30 seconds and they called us back. The woman helping us was extremely pleasant. Everything was completed in 5 minutes. Excellent service. read more

There is no 1 social security office, so this is for you all. The Government sucks and so does social security. Social Security has been taking monies out of my wife's check for damn near 25yrs. because social security says that they overpaid my wife 80,000 dollars. We all know that's a crock of shit! Even if you did such a thing...you're telling me that no one caught this until it reached 80,000!!?? They then took 400 this month for no reason and then sent notice. They have on paper that my wife is to receive this amount but yet gets that amount. Did I mention that they lie? By no means is this directed towards the people who work in these offices. My wife is of retirement age and on paper it says that she receives full benefits. I'm here to tell you that she doesn't and hasn't been for many years. Social Security Administration will have to answer. read more

First of all, it smells like poop when you walk in there. Secondly, Miss Fraser has got to be the nastiest woman I have encountered in a very long time. I scanned in with a barcode today, and was unfortunately at the wrong location, but the way that she spoke to me was so demeaning and so disrespectful. I told her to her face. She was an a hole and a B.I.T.C.H. I am a tax paying citizen, visiting Social Security to change my last name because I was married. I hope that she isn't a manager or in any decision making roles. Shame on you Mrs Fraser you need a attitude adjustment. read more

Legitimately just left this office crying because of how absolutely rude the lady in booth 4 was. I've never been to the social security office before, I brought everything I thought I needed, and the first thing she asked me is if I had a ticket. I said no, I checked in online (I thought she meant a physical ticket) and she snapped at me and asked me if I "even called to make sure I have what I needed." I showed her my phone (the ticket) while she continued to be pissed off under her breath. Turns out, I did not need my last name changed and she changed her tune very quickly after seeing my ID. Maybe because I'm younger and explained my parents had me as teenagers so I had no clue about anything I was doing? Regardless, I've NEVER had someone who is working speak to me like that. Absolutely not okay. Either she needs better training or she needs to find a different line of work. I've never left a bad review before, but her attitude towards absolutely warrants the one star. read more

I didn't expect much... I was anticipating something like the motor vehicles department. I was pretty spot-on. However, I came in on a Wednesday at 11:15. They close at noon. It was very crowded. Nevertheless, I was out of there by 11:55am with no appointment. The clerk and guard were both very nice and extremely helpful. Easy peasy! read more

If you want to know just how broken American government is, interact with the Social Security Administration. Long wait times, indifferent employees, incorrect information, archaic web portals... I don't know where to begin, so I'll stop. And to think I've put hundreds of millions of dollars of my own hard-earned money into this system... read more

I had a very good experience here today. The key is to get there 30 minutes before they open (9am)Was 3rd in line, took me 15 mins once I signed in. Everyone there working, including the guard were very friendly and helpful. The day before I went to the Liberty Township office (Winford Ave) and they were horrible. Left after waiting over an hour. Was told it would be at least 3 hours. The guard told me I could make an appointment online so when I got home, found out you can't do that if your only getting your last named changed. Very rude and not helpful. I recommend the Evendale office on Reading Rd. Patti H read more

We suspect someone else is getting the social security payments. Unable to access online account and no one available in person

I picked a Tuesday, arrived at 9:57 to let the first morning rush get through. I waited for just under an hour. The security guard was super helpful to all who asked her questions, which were a lot of people. The staff seemed to work as fast as possible. It was as good or fast Service as I expected. read more

Get ready for a longgg wait! I recently got married and went in to change my last name on my SS card, I thought I'd have to wait an hour or so tops. Boy was I wrong...I arrived at the office only five minutes after they opened and had to wait over two hours before my number was called. The woman who helped me wasn't the nicest, but I guess that's to be expected at offices like these. If your intention for going is to change your last name, my advice would be to either get there and get in line BEFORE they open, or just do the mail-in method. read more

It's OK. I had to get my social security card re-mailed to me because I lost it. I had to get it done because the place that I work now REQUIRED that I give them my SSN card, instead of a passport, which has your SSN on it!....But I digress, depending on when you get there, it is usually PACKED, so plan to be there for a while (pay attention to your # {the person before me (came in at same time) missed his # because they were on the phone and didn't realize that my number was called....be bitched, moaned, and almost started started a fight the the worked....security had to get him out!}). Plan to get there early if you don't want to be there forever! But it was a nice clean facility read more

The office is small and clean. I went around lunch time and there were very few customers. Great news for me - I went straight to the window :D. The whole transaction took less than 10 minutes. The attendant was very helpful and polite. An overall good experience. read more

Nice clean building but God awful long wait. More than 50 people waiting and they have 5 stations but only 2 clerks working! wish the government spent less money on tbe building and put some of that money into hiring more personnel. read more

I woke up early and arrived at this office ten till 9, and there was a line beginning to wrap around the building. I was totally shocked because I was there before it was even open. They were slow at getting the doors open, but once inside things went smoothly. I had to wait of course, but the waiting time and getting a replacement SS card took about 45 minutes. It was a nice building and clean inside, which is more than I can say about a lot of government service buildings. I was fortunate enough to have a friendly man wait on me. All around pleasant experience! read more

After standing outside in the heat, it flows rather nice. Security came out and herd everyone into a single line. Just don't bring your kids unless they really need to be here. read more

Waited three and a half hours to complete the paperwork to get a SS card with my married name. Thought people in the waiting room were reasonably patient and courteous. I learned I could have avoided the wait if I'd made an appointment. And when I finally got to the employee's desk to do the paperwork, he took a look at my documentation and said "You got married in 1969? What, were you waiting to make sure it worked out before you changed your name?" Seriously...that made the whole thing worthwhile. read more

Terrible customer service. I wasn't aware I could even make an appointment after scouring the ssa website yesterday. Managed to find the location and hours. Attempted to call but there was an estimated 50 minute wait. Was unable to do a simple name change without coming in to the office. Signed in on a computer. After waiting over 40 minutes I was told by the person who called my letter and numbers that they couldn't help me and that I would have to go sit and wait again. Attempted to call phone number I found on the mobile version of their website only after doing a search for "make appointment" got same recordings and now I am told the phone call wait is over an hour just to make an appointment. There is no one here to talk to to make an appointment WITH and no info desk or greeter to answer questions or direct folks. Security guard appears to be on the verge of either being bored to death or suicide. Not sure which. A window opened as I was heading out the door to leave since I was unable to wait any longer after being there OVER an hour and I briefly paused at it to try to explain to the woman st window 1 that I had been put on a list (only to be courteous to EVERYONE and the lady chewed me out for approaching the window when I wasn't the person she called and GASP I was also in a cell phone. On hold still...get with the times America. This is a disgrace and a waste of my hard earned money. After being on hold trying to make an appointment for over 1/2 hr I was disconnected! read more

I submitted information on 6/23/15 to get a replacement social security card for my son. They said it would take 2 weeks to receive the new card. It has now been a month and no card has arrived. Called the office and was told I would have to start the process all over again. This just isn't right.... read more

YIKES!!!!! If anyone thinks the gubmit is going to run healthcare efficiently they should make a trip to the Social Security office. First, this office is open 27 hours a week. Are these government workers considered full-time? Anyway, I got to office at 9:11 and the place was packed already (opened at 9:00.) Took a number and waited. All numbers were preceded by a letter, I guess depending on what you needed to accomplish. All I needed was a copy of my Social Security Card because I am in the middle of moving and left mine in a safe in the city I am moving from-- why does Ohio require a copy of SS card to purchase a license plate? (SS card is not suppose to be used as a means of identification so I guess it is used to track us by the Great State of Ohio!) Anyway, at 10:00 the guy running window #2 shuts a blind and he is gone. 10 minutes later the guy running window #1 does the same thing. There are only 5 windows open, the place is packed and two of the windows shut down! What a joke. I got out of there after 10:30, the place was at standing room only capacity and the 2 windows were still shut! I mean I understand if an hour after you start working if you have to go urinate but these guys were gone way too long for it to have only been a bathroom break! So, to recap an hour after starting work two of the five people working the windows took a break! Also, there was a "security guard" there who did nothing but point to the computer screen when people came in and yell at the mother of a mentally disabled man who got up and wondered into a hall. For God's sake! Have a little compassion! Why don't they "fast pass" people who have diagnosed mental disabilities? It was obvious this gentlemen had some form of mental disability and was having issues with sitting quietly. Why doesn't the government make exceptions and show a little compassion for those with disabilities such as this? -- I won't even get into the inhuman behavior exhibited by the others waiting towards this gentleman because that would be a Yelp review of humanity and well this is a Yelp review about the SLOW, INEFFICIENT SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE IN EVENDALE, OHIO! read more

Sure wish times of operation would have been listed on the website. It would have saved me lots of time without listening to all of the recordings. Once I left a message for a call back. Several days later, still no call-back. read more

There was a line before they even opened, but at least they opened at exactly 9am. Didn't have to wait that long after taking a number, but the guy I got was rude and didn't do what he said he was going to do. Promised he would change my address at the end of the day, he changed it alright, had my old address as the residence and my new address as my mailing address--one address from AZ the other in Ohio! Why would I live in one state and get my mail in another? Had to correct it over the phone because he didn't do his job. The security is very helpful and friendly. Lots of places to sit down if you get there early, would suggest you get there one hour before opening but you will have to stand in line and get a number. read more
