I was having issues having to apply for Medicare online with the ssa.gov.. My first issue was I applied to this website that said vitals records they sent someone a false report of my birth certificate which messed me up online to register for my Medicare. If anyone come across the issue or need a birth certificate,. I will get involved with the state that your from vital records department instead of an online website itself instead of going through some private website to try to recover your birth certificate, or any other sensitive important paperwork ....with that. I had a deadline of having to apply for Medicare since I turned 65 I got in contact with the state of Maryland, which sent my original birth certificate, which took two weeks, drove to the Temple Social Security office. Talk to a young (Hispanic lady) everything was taken care of because socialsecurity.gov would not register me and wanted me to appeal my case on line because I guess some information that they received say that I was not born in 1960 the information ssa.gov received I was born in 1966, in which 1966 was the wrong birthdate, It is worth the wait for any problems that you have to resolve with Social Security and Temple their staff was very professional. Thank you for the Security in the lobby waiting area, thank you for the young lady that did my registering with Medicare. I have an attachment that showed my waiting number and date that I went to the Temple social Security agency . I forgot the young Hispanic lady name and please forgive me for forgetting your name ma'am you was very helpful. Thanks for meeting, but if someone that works at the Temple social Security office please get in contact with this young lady on this date that I was waiting , that helped me diligently and very caring that had taken the time to help..thank you, Temple Social Security you guys do a magnificent job. If I could give them a minus I would. Where do I start...I started this in December. terrible service. I had a appointment for the 6th of Feb. They sent me a letter saying it would be on the phone instead of in person. On thursday Feb. 5th they texted and said it would be that day instead. I waited all day, then I called again,they said they would get back to me. Then I waited all day again on Friday the 5th...nothing. I haven't been able to reach them since. We got there when they opened up and we're like 10th in line and after a little shuffling to get past the kiosk to register lady was very helpful to tell me since I already had an phone appointment there's nothing more they could do for me I just have to wait till the end of April to get my filing done. But she was very nice about it and we were in and out And they seem to be very efficient. read more

This office and the Waco office both do not answer the phone. I called multiple times multiple days when I knew they were open or should be taking calls and still nothing. If the court offices are open, and the dmv why is the social security office closed? It makes absolutely no sense. I got married in June they haven't been opened since then. Am trying to get an appoint with social security to change name on my wife's social security card, who is from Jamaica West Indies so we can try to get her on Medicare and Tricare-for-life as I am a retire military veteran with 30 years of service. Been at this with the office in Temple Texas for about three months now. Called the office on Three separate occasion and was told that the information I gave to the reprehensive would be passed on to management, and that management would call me with an appointment. Never happened. First called in August, again in September, and on 13 Oct. Each time was told the same story. Realize that COVID-19 is giving us all problems and we need to be patient. Came to this location after deciding not to wait at the Georgetown location. The check in process was the same as the other, but the staff is much friendlier. The security officer was very friendly and made sure that everyone followed the rules (ie: phones on silent or vibrate, no phone calls, etc).. he wasn't rude or anything like that.. The staff member that helped me was very nice and was able to get me out in less than an hour! read more

I went to the Temple Social Security office this morning expecting to be there all day as it is a first come first served basis. I got to the office 15 minutes before it opened. You can go into the building before 9 a.m. and get a number from the kiosk. They have a nice waiting room and at 9 am the representatives start helping people with their problems. I waited 30 minutes. That's right only 30 minutes. I spoke to Mr. Garcia and he was so so helpful. He was very professional and very helpful, and confirmed the information I had read online. If I could give this place a negative 1 I would...the security was rude and very unhelpful they sat there while I tried to figure out which window to go to once my number was called..then once I missed my number by one second they told me I had to pull another number instead of trying to help me they ganged up on me threatening to put me out after I waited for an hour...THEN THE MALE SECURITY GAURD STATED HIMSELF that he didn't even hear my number be called. Went through a hard ship of a lost wallet to replace ssn card, was in the field training for a month with the US ARMY and got turned away when the only identification was a military id today was literally the only day I had to come for a couple hours then head back to the field. Horrible service with extremely bad attitudes. Definitely not military friendly. read more

The workers are very poor in service. So the previous comment when he stated it was not military friendly I agree. We just got stationed her in Texas and I needed a social security card to Register my child in tricare. I had a copy of her shot record the same I used to register her for school, birth certificate and my dependency card. They gave such a hard time telling me to go get it certified from her doctor. Have been to the office 3 times and made several phone calls. Have yet to get a straight answer or get my problem solved. The second representative was extremely, would not answer my questions, and I have yet to have my problem resolved. Two letters later with incorrect information. No social security check this month due to their mishandling of my paperwork. Probably no check next month as well. read more
