This is ridiculous. Their hold times are grandiose and their customer service is even worse. They need to survey and fire some people. I do not trust them with my ssn. read more

The security guard was very nice, first of all! He was super patient with all of us as he answered questions that people had, helped those who were disabled and in general displayed a level of kindness not often seen in government offices. Although the wait was a bit lengthy, over an hour, once I was called, I was serviced with dignity and the gentleman who assisted me was sharp and willing to assist in any way possible. I left satisfied and comfortable that a resolution had been reached. read more

I went here as an afterthought at 1PM. I carried my SSC in my wallet against everyone's advise and lost it. I have NO idea where it is but it was in my wallet when I lost it at the airport and it was no longer there when I got the wallet back. It's been over a year now and I've had that nagging feeling in my head to get a replacement just in case. I got off my fat ass(i wish) and drove there armed with my Passport, DL, W2 and that form you gotta fill out. When i arrived, everyone looked like they had been there for a while. The people sitting beside me already became friends and knew about each other's life story. You know how that goes...... I wait patiently and 28 mins later, my # was called. The lady was courteous and efficient and for a replacement, she only needed my State ID(DL) and the form. I was out of there in 30 mins flat and left the poor guy to my right still sitting there even though he got there before me(sorry brah). Your wait could be longer depending on the purpose of your visit so....Good Luck! ETA: Received my SSC yesterday I wasn't expecting it SO soon! I wish Traffic Court was like this! read more

I drove to the SS building thinking ok I'm going to be in and out. Boy was I wrong! Even though I only stayed about and hour and a half it was pretty cut and dry. It was pretty crowded but they move fast and I didn't have an appointment. Walked in went to the computer filled out my info and took a seat, was called in about an hour. Gave the clerk my info and spoke to her for about 20 mins. She was really nice and gave me a really good understanding of what we had filled out on the application and want to expect. read more

Okay, so people usually come here to apply for a social security card, apply for a replacement sscard, or to apply for benefits (retirement, etc.). I came here on a Friday afternoon, and it was super duper packed. As soon as I walked in, there were two security guards, and a bunch of people sitting down. It was so packed, there were some people standing near the windows. (I got in trouble for standing near the chairs, since there weren't any seats available) Anyway, there are two bathrooms, one for men, one for women. The bathroom door shows whether or not it's "vacant" or "in use." So you go in, turn to your left, and theres a touch-screen booth where you select your language, and what you're there for. A ticket will come out with your number. (If you're confused, just ask the security guard for help) They will let you know if you need to fill anything out while you wait. The intercom will announce the numbers in order "first come first served" basis. I waited a total of 2.5 hours. There were a lot of babies, and people coughing (bad combination). Not a clean place, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I would advise anyone to go right when they open, so that you won't have to wait so long. read more

I know the Social Security Administration would be a long wait. I just knew it. However, I had to get a replacement card regardless. I knew it. And on top of it, I went on a Thursday afternoon around 12:30. Just my luck. Now, there are not that much parking. I had to park on the side. I tried to park across the street or next to an office parking lot. There is a woman there monitoring and told me I couldn't park there. That must have been her job. She did not have a security guard outfit either but I am glad she told me because my car would've gotten tow or something. Walking in, there was already a line. The security officer helped out everyone and asked them what they were there for and instructed us how to use the kiosk. He was really nice. Since I already filled out my form online and had it printed, I didn't have to worry about the application. 30 minutes pass and my number was called. I was so happy lol. I had to go to window 24 which was on the other side. I was surprised since everyone who had the P ticket went to the other side which had windows 1-16. Nevertheless, when I got to the counter, the lady was really outgoing and sweet. It took less than 5 minutes than I was out of there. Wow, just wow. read more

When you get there it says its only by appointment, they have a drop box and a phone number to call for services. There's no one at the door guiding or answering questions. You can't get in the building and when you call the number provided it just rings and rings. No help what so ever. People just stand outside not knowing what to do. People working at this office certainly don't care at all. Horrible management. read more

Let me start with this: if you're sending in an application, don't. I sent in an application for a name change and it took a month and a half for the office to send a letter with my documents informing me that my request couldn't be processed because I forgot some documents (my marriage license). Like, seriously? You made me wait a month and a freaking half just to let me know I was missing stuff? Wow. Anyway, long story short, I should've gotten my name changed as soon as I got married but I didn't so that's why I went in to the office today. My gps took me to exit 102 (an alternative route to I Luv Pho and Sri Thai) and it took me around to some business park areas. It sucks when there's oncoming traffic, though, so I would recommend going the route of passing by East Pearl buffet and Nam Dae Mun (sorry, I forgot the street names). Also, supposedly you could call and make appointments? I've heard names being called instead of numbers so I guess it's possible (ie. John Smith instead of P305) But I could be wrong, too. Parking sucks butt. I had to circle around twice before I found a spot. When you walk in, there's a big seating area in the middle and two machines that hands out numbered tickets once you input information to determine your needs. There are also security guards to assist with any questions. Don't be fooled by the simple-looking layout because if you don't pay attention, you may miss your call because there are no screens like the DMV. Your number is announced on the overhead and the windows are on both sides of the building so the windows can be in front or behind you or to the left. It doesn't help that the windows are sectioned off so you can get even more confused. I waited for about 30ish minutes before my number was called. I also printed off and filled out an application at home before I came. Don't forget your documents and don't worry, there are paper applications at the office if needed. Thankfully the lady was nice (maybe it was because I had all my paperwork and documents with me) and my business was taken care of in 10 minutes. I had a simple matter so for other matters, I don't know how long it will take. Hopefully I won't have to come back here any time soon. I would prefer going to the DMV than here. read more

The only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the parking and waiting times. There is not sufficient parking for a governmental office, but then again, it beats paying $30 in downtown at the passport agency. Not enough seatings for the wait. However, stating so, EVERYBODY here was sooo very nice and accommodating. Once it gets to your turn, you're in and out within minutes. read more

First of all, this review would have been 5 stars if the parking wasn't an issue. Let me tell you about my adventure. So being new to Georgia, I had no idea where this place was. Upon arrival, the parking was filled with cars and there was obviously not enough to host a large group of audience. I was surprised by how small the parking lot was...I was driving my huge RAM truck and I was literally having a cow when I had to "trespass" this sign that said "no parking and no passing through" but I'm sorry, I had to somehow make a U-Turn to get out of the parking lot with my huge RAM truck...urgh....this was not the most annoying part. The most annoying part was when I tried to park at the local parking lots nearby, it's like these businesses were ready to be rude and hire security just to make sure you don't park there. I didn't know better, so I parked at the business behind the security office and as I was about to get out, this security lady cops up an attitude with me and goes "You can't park here." I was about to ask her politely, "where can I park?" Before I can even ask that question, she goes "I don't know any rules and I'm not suppose to provide any information, all I know is about this business." I was thnking "wow...you effin...biotch..." Excuse my French, but you would undertsand why I was angry when there was NOBODY parking at that parking lot and it was her and I starring off at one another at this empy lot with over 300 empty spaces and her saying YOU CAN"T PARK HERE." Wow...was all I gotta say. I drove my car out of that parking lot and literally parked my car at a nearby business and walked out to ask for permission if I can park there. Normally, they can't, but this business was really kind and told me go ahead because they knew desperately that I needed to take care of my business. But wow...talk about walking in there stressed with negative energy already. What a horrible way to "breed" pissed off customers before they have even walked in. Entering the buliding...the Security Administrative Officers were nice. They will guide you through the process of checking in. Make sure you grab a number and don't freak out if you're number 385 and they are only on 305, lol. I got 385 and they ended up splitting the range of the number for different purposes. I didn't wait too long. I gave 5 stars to Juan Ly. He was the one that processed my paperwork and he was soo nice and kind about it. I told him about the parking situation and he gets it. Thanks for your help, Juan! :) read more

Dealing with social security can be difficult, but I arrived just before the office opened and was helped immediately. There were employees at every step of the way to tell me what do to. They were extremely helpful. Go early. read more

Went here to update my social security card after getting married. First of all, their parking lot is a joke. There's only about 25 parking slots and then you can park along the right curb. Meanwhile, there's a HUGE lot in the back that apparently is for a small office building that doesn't see a third of the traffic the SS office does. It would make sense for them to buy out that lot to accommodate the hundreds of people that pour into this location but I guess that's too much to ask for. I was told to park "better" on the curb (I wasn't sticking out or impeding traffic but maybe it gets boring patrolling a parking lot for a living). I finally get inside, check in, have a seat. The room is very packed and smells like several unpleasant things but ehh. I wait an HOUR to be called only to be told I need to come back because the COPY of my marriage license wasn't certified. Meanwhile, this is what the judge gave me and said I'd only need a certified copy if I was going to the military. (Smh Cobb county magistrate). The Asian woman at the counter refused to let me speak to a manager for clarification and called security. This has got to be the nastiest security officer ever. Not only did he snap his fingers and direct me to stand "over here", he never once even looked at me. F'in coward. So I left. Went to get my certified copy and went to a different ss office. And had a MUCH better experience. read more

Extremely slow. I brought coffee in an apparently that's not allowed. Also no parking and they tow your car if you try to find a spot nearby. read more

My frustration with this place stems from the fact that they are very slow at calling out numbers. I was there at 10:30am yesterday. In two hours they only called 10 numbers. Between 11:15 and 12:00, no p-numbers were called. During that wait however, they went back and recalled number that were skipped since they didnt come up when their number was called. That is not fair to the people that have been patiently waiting and paying attention to the queue. when we arrived it was on number 445, when we walked out at 12:45 they were only on number 458 and we were number 475. This was after multiple announcements claiming there was only a 2 hr wait for the p-numbers. The employees move with no sense of urgency and dont care about the lengthy wait-time. read more

No parking. 3 hour wait and I was told to come back in the morning at 8am. Get to the office at 8:00 to find out they don't open until 9. A joke of an agency. Another government aganecy at work. read more

Always double check your documents. And every employee will tell you differently. Meaning, one will say you need both documents and the other will tell you another. So bring everything just in case. The employees are pretty friendly though. And the officers are very helpful and friendly as well. The waiting area is pretty big but it feels up quick. It gets pretty busy regardless of what time you go. read more

Fast and easy. Received my social security card a week later in the mail. Only a 30 minute wait to be seen. The only thing I would complain would be the parking. Very full and hard to find parking. I had to go for a name change after getting married. I did not have an appointment and was in and out in 30 minutes. This location is great. The line will seem long when you get there but when you get in, it's not long before they call your number. I've gone here three times over the years and each time it's a breeze. As long as u have your documents before you get there you can get in and out. The ones servicing are nice as well. read more

These people are crazy. All I needed was a replacement SS card, which I have not had for 25 years. I took me 2 hours to hear my number called. Here is the great Irony....to renew your license in Georgia you need your SS card and a passport or birth certificate. Remember, I said renew. So I have a valid drivers license, which is all I need to get a copy of my SS card. How screwed up is that?!?! The license is good enough to get the SS card but not good enough to renew the license. Typical slow and dysfunctional government office. Worthless read more

I haven't even got in there yet. I've circled around the parking area at least 8 times. The parking----or lack thereof---is horrendous. There's a "security" lady leaning against a parked car and she must be tired of the questions, because I got short nods when I asked if there were any others options for parking. I so hate when I need a place and the wait is either long or I can't get in the place. I'd be back home if I didn't want my husband's last name so bad!!! read more

I did not have no issues at all. surprised how fast I got out of there. They have two sign in computers, which without fail crashed (maybe my electrifying personality) ‍ place is clean. No grumpy people. (Security guard would probably check that anyways) I was waiting for them to ask me for a DNA, breath analyzer or whatever was needed for my replacement card. This review is more for the security officer Guterez who is helping everyone here. It's a full house in here this morning and this man is so polite and patient. He is even having elderly people sit down and he checks them in himself rather than have them stand up there in line. This place seems organized in general but he is the real Hero this morning. read more

I know that, generally speaking, the Yelpers out there are a bunch of younger folks in their 20's, 30's, and 40's. Therefore, as a public service for those who may need to have a new Social Security card issued, go on SS Disability Income, or are just curious to see where all that money subtracted from their paychecks under "FICA" goes, I am sharing my experiences here. First of all, be prepared to walk, because the parking lot is FULL unless you come at 9am sharp. Once in, you turn left and line up to indicate what your particular need is on a multiple-choice touchscreen. You will receive a ticket with a letter/number on it. Next, find a seat. You will not find a comfortable seat, as they're all plastic buckets bolted to metal rails, arranged in rows just tight enough that, should you sit on one of the ends, people entering and exiting that row will give you a close-up encounter with their anterior or posterior. Therefore, sit on the front row, if possible. You will be steadfastly gazing at one of the many screens on which ticket numbers are scrolling endlessly, directing each ticket holder to a window or office. It's best to take a potty break BEFORE you get your ticket, because if you don't show up at your assigned destination in 2 minutes, you have to get a new ticket and start all over. Are you looking forward to this yet? I know that you are :-#. Once you get to a window, you will actually talk with a person, who will want to see your ID, which should consist of a photo ID AND your SS card, or a photo ID AND your last paycheck with SSN AND a notarized birth certificate copy. Believe it or not, once you get through this, things go rapidly and smoothly. Why 4 stars? Because they haven't started doing body patdowns yet. read more

On October 23, 2014 I went to this office to get my name changed because I recently got married. It was so CROWDED that I was lucky to have found the last parking space on the road next to the road next to the social security office -_- from then on it just got worse. After waiting in there for about 20 minutes after taking my number, I decided It wasn't for me and went to the cop sitting at the desk to the right of the door. He informed me that I could leave my documents (MY LICENSE, MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE, AND APPLICATION) in a sealed envelope with my name on it and will get it back within the same time frame (ONLY 7-10 business days). It is November 24th. I do not have my new social security card. Do not have my license. Do not have my marriage certificate back. It cost money for the certificate and will cost money to replace my license. I called the general number for help and they stated there was NOTHING EVEN PROCESSED. So essentially my documents have been LOST. IT HAS BEEN A MONTH IN REAL TIME, A WHOPPING 26 BUSINESS DAYS. I will be going up to this shithole office to either ask for my documents back with or without my new social security card OR compensation for the lost documents. They have cameras in the place so that is proof enough that I submitted them. I've been to a social security office in ALABAMA that was better than this one. Avoid! read more
