It is a total game-changer for hockey parents! It's fully heated with a perfect bird's-eye view of the ice, so you can stay warm while watching the game. The food is actually really good--much better than your typical rink snacks--and it's the perfect spot to grab a coffee and catch up with other parents. The location is also incredibly convenient. It's tucked right behind the Best Buy and Starbucks off Route 22, which makes it easy to grab a quick coffee on the way in or run a few errands during practice. The Park is easy to get to from downtown if you live in the area closer to the train station, but you can also drive here and find street parking.

Along with Floods Hill the other sections of the park include the "Duck Pond" (where the meadowlands park plack can be found) - or what used to be since geese have taken up residence for the past decade or so and thrown out the ducks. Cameron field, where baseball, softball and other field games gather and "The Baird center" which is where all of the community and recreation affairs can be handled such as registering for youth team sports and tennis lessons. I have many memories of this park where much goes on in the spring and summer including hosting festivals and used to host 4th of July festivities. Still a great place to pass through and the most sprawled and varied park in town.

So, in reality it's a superb neighborhood park with playground equipment geared toward kids age 2-12, a single tennis court and a large grassy area often used as a soccer field but also good for lounging, frisbee or jumping jacks. There's a paved asphalt oval around the field, which is great for running track, and entrances from three sides. It also makes a great shortcut, depending on your commute, and a birthday party location, weather permitting. There are also public restrooms, which are usually open and this year smelled mostly of cigar smoke, which is why it gets four stars instead of five. Overall, though, it's a fine place to tire out your children!
