I've been taking the Tai Chi class here with my mom for several months now, and it has been one of…read morethe best things we've done together. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming from day one. The instructors encourage you to challenge yourself, but they never push you to the point where you dread coming back. They meet you where you are and genuinely want you to succeed. Special shout out to Mandy, who has been our class instructor for the last couple of months and is an absolute gem. What surprised me most is what an amazing workout Tai Chi actually is. It looks slow and gentle, but don't let that fool you--I often leave sweaty. Since starting, I've noticed a huge improvement in my strength, balance, and confidence. A real-life example: I have a 40-pound bulldog who needs to be carried downstairs every morning to go outside. Before Tai Chi, I struggled (and he was a bit afraid). Now I can carry him down an entire flight of stairs without thinking twice, and he seems to really appreciate me not being wobbly on the stairs anymore. That's a pretty noticeable difference. I also appreciate that the class includes people of all ages and abilities. No one is trying to prove they're the strongest or the most athletic. It's just a supportive environment where everyone is working on becoming a little stronger, healthier, and more capable than they were the week before. I also really like how the more advanced students join us at times to help and encourage us. (Hint: If you're looking for a fun group of seniors, join our lunch class on M, W & F) If you've ever been curious about Tai Chi but wondered whether it was "enough" exercise, I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations. I look forward to every class, and my mom and I always leave feeling better than when we walked in. I'm so glad we decided to give it a try.

When I reached out via their scheduling system to set up a free trial, I was immediately called back and I spoke to Ben the owner. He set up a date and time for my son to visit and try a class that evening. Ben met with all of us first to discuss my son's goals and to explain a little bit about their school and then my son joined the teen class right after. My son loved it and we decided to have him attend classes there. They offer teen classes every evening and morning classes for everyone as well as Saturday morning classes. Ben and his wife, Joy own Oom Yung Doe and are some of the most kind and welcoming people I have met! My son started attending 2.5 months ago and I will tell you, he loves it, but more importantly, his grades have come up and he is doing amazing scholastically! My son took the Star360 (a statewide test) last school year in May and was in the red zone (concerning zone-he has been for most of his school career) and just this week, he is in the blue zone (the zone they want all students to be in). Images attached. We are shocked and so excited for him! We can't wait to watch him grow and change due to the training he is getting at Oom Yung Doe! If you have a child who is struggling with school, please reach out to Ben at Oom Yung Doe and have your child attend a session or two. I attached the website link below. I promise you won't be disappointed and if you attend for a few months, you may see their grades increase like we have! https://meet.oomyungdoe.com/free-consultation-ca

We originally signed our son up at Final Strike Martial Arts because we wanted him to build the…read moreconfidence to stand up for himself when dealing with a school bully, and it has been amazing to see how much he has grown since then! Not only has he gained confidence and learned new skills, but he has also built friendships, developed a real love for martial arts, and loves showing off his new moves and sharing what he has learned with his friends. It has been so rewarding to see him feel proud of himself and excited about what he is accomplishing. One of the biggest changes we've noticed has been in school. He used to move around in his chair a lot, but now he is able to sit still, focus on his work, and even help his teacher! Seeing these positive changes in his behavior, focus, confidence, and social skills has meant so much to us as parents. We are so grateful to Final Strike Martial Arts for helping our son grow not just in martial arts, but as a person. He is learning discipline, respect, confidence, and skills that are making a difference in his everyday life. We couldn't be happier with the progress he has made, and we highly recommend Final Strike Martial Arts to any parent looking for a positive environment where their child can grow, learn, and thrive!

From the very beginning, the staff was welcoming, patient, and absolutely wonderful with all of our girls. They put together a two-hour class that was incredibly well organized and structured while still keeping the girls engaged and having fun the entire time. They talked with them about anti-bullying, personal safety, confidence, awareness, and different ways they can protect themselves if they ever feel unsafe. The girls also learned basic martial arts skills, including how to properly kick and strike, and one of their favorite parts was getting the chance to break boards! I was so impressed with how much they were able to teach the girls while making everything age-appropriate, encouraging, and fun. Every girl walked away feeling proud of herself and more confident. We are definitely interested in checking out more of what Final Strike Martial Arts has to offer and would highly recommend them to any family looking for a martial arts program for their child. Thank you so much for giving our troop such a memorable experience!

They can play dodgeball and kickball which they couldn't before. They don't get bullied anymore and still are able to keep their kind and gentle demeanor. It wasn't easy at first they hated the gym the 1st, 5 months but I told them, they had to give it a year. Now they love the gym and they are so happy have the skills set. They are still white belts and will probably never be fighters but they are no longer cowards. The atmosphere is a close group who all are very kind, and patient, yet the best of the best fighters who are tough but humble. Love the coaches Joe, Sam, Trevor, Louie all of these guys do a great job encouraging these kids. If you have a kid who is weak, scared of a ball, completely uncoordinated, take them to Dan's give it a year make them go faithfully at least 2x a week to jujitsu or wrestling and they will make your child have confidence and courage. It will improve their future. Don't worry your kid won't become a jerk they stay humble. I can't thank the Dan's gym enough on how my boys improved.

This place is like the gym Average Joe's in the movie Dodge Ball (except not the good guys, just…read morethe average part). They have some great instructors, but unfortunately the members create an atmosphere of insecurity and fear. If you show up with any experience, confidence, or heaven forbid are good looking, in shape, and not religious, then you will be hated like you're a Globo Gym member. Not only will they hate you, they will begin to spread lies and rumors about you and give you dirty glances. We witnessed them allow a member to continuously cause trouble, disobey the rules of the mat, and disrespect other members of the gym and the instructors and manager never did anything until after 9 months of not paying his dues they finally kicked him out. This guy was over 6' tall, 270 pounds, tattoos on his face... he was intimidating. He was also a very poor sport, no sportsmanship and no regard for etiquette. He threw tantrums when he didn't get submissions in jiu jitsu, he was always challenging the upper ranked belts to prove himself, he tried to start physical altercations with professional fighters at fight night, he tried to start fights with my husband threatening him through text, and they even allowed this member's young son to accost little girls in jiu jitsu, making creepy comments to them, and bullying other members of all ages, much like his father. There is a heavy Christian influence pervading the place, which seems to encourage the negative behavior. They forgive the bully over and over which punishes the victims. That member was just one example of the culture at large. Be aware of the groups of women who are there every day who act like they own the place and bully around doing what they want without consequences, acting like their membership doesn't cost the same as yours. If you want to go back to high school but pay for it, then this is your spot.

My wife and I want our kids to be involved in some type of sport or physical activity outside of daily school. My son had been a dedicated club soccer player for a few yrs but COVID put a damper on that so we were looking for something different he might like. I, personally, had always been a Bruce Lee fan and loved the art of Wing Chun but had never taken part in it. My son was 12 yrs old and had only done a little wrestling as far as self defense so I signed us up for a free week of classes. Usually a 12 yr old would be in the Youth classes but my son was allowed to train alongside me (46 yrs) in the adult classes with grown men and women. As soon as our first class was over he said, "Man, I can't wait to do this again!' He and I were hooked. We continued on for an entire yr together where we trained and fought alongside each other. I had no idea the impact it would have on him to see me (his own father) take my own ups n downs throughout the process of learning. He witnessed me get humbled many times during trainings (hard for a father to do/admit) but I knew I wanted him to see that I was willing to let him see me fail so he could also see me continue on and not give up. It took incredible discipline and dedication for us both but our bond and relationship as father and son took immense strides forward and watched my 12 yr old boy become an artist of Wing Chun during that time. He developed a love of the craft and discipline that Sifu-Don Presto and the many other coaches instilled in him along the way: Samba, Mike, Gabe, Charles, Jamere, Kevin, others. All great men with great character that held my son accountable but also gave him great praise and encouragement when earned. This was the longest my son and I had done anything together, how incredibly rewarding as a father. When I needed to take a break during summer, Sifu-Don offered my son a position as a coach for his Youth classes on Mon-Tues-Wed evenings. He was honored at the opportunity and jumped right in. Working with both, adults and young children (ages 6-12 yrs), men, women, girls, boys, has taught him so much as a young man and character development. Sifu-Don Presto and the staff of coaches at SoCal Wing Chun Academy (Murrieta) have made a life-changing impact on my son and I and have ignited a passion for the martial arts in him that I never saw coming. My wife and I are so incredibly thankful that we made this connection and hope other families may take advantage of such an opportunity. Stop by SoCal Wing Chun Academy today. -Tyler King

The entire team has been instrumental in our children's success, both on the training mat and at competitions. My wife and I were both multi-sport athletes, but neither of us ever practiced or competed in combat sports so while we weren't sure what to expect, we both understood what effective teaching/training looked like. From the first day, it was evident that the team was focused on developing comfort and confidence in the new students. They were both immediately assigned to an experienced student who made them feel relaxed and walked them through both the drills and lessons over the next few days. They quickly went from being a little scared of joining a class full of students with varied experience levels to requesting to attend class every day of the week. Of all the extracurricular activities they had tried, this was the one that ignited their passion the most. The professor, Tom Cronin, and the entire team of coaches do an excellent job of keeping the kids engaged by balancing expectations with both fun and recognition. They have a great sense of each student and how to motivate them to excel. They also steer clear of pitfalls we were warned of by friends who have children attending other academies, specifically promotions based on attendance as opposed to merit. At this gym, the children are evaluated on their skills and ability to execute the requisite moves. This encourages them to excel instead of just casually participating. Within 9 months they had developed enough confidence to compete and we were blown away at how well they performed against the competition from around the country. Most importantly, they had a coach prepare them the week before with one on one training and he was the one who attended the competition to coach both of them through all of their matches. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly for us, the academy doesn't just teach them BJJ, it reinforces core behaviors that we expect from our children - Respect, honor, and community. At the end of the day, we are all trying to raise the best humans we can and I can say with absolute confidence, that this academy is an integral part of that process for our children. I absolutely recommend Carlson Gracie, Temecula to anyone with any interest in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu.

Professor Tom knows how to bring patience and understanding to teaching young kids, while still holding them to real discipline -- and it shows. Even at just 4 and 6 years old, our boys already show him such genuine respect, and as parents, that's exactly what we hoped to find. Our boys have spent the majority of their training with Coach Dienekes, and we can't say enough about him -- his guidance and dedication have been a huge part of getting our oldest ready for his competition in two weeks. On top of that, Professor Tom still made time for a private lesson with him ahead of the comp, even with how busy he's been prepping other students for their own competitions. Above and beyond doesn't even cover it. You could feel how much care and love for the sport both coaches pour into these kids.
