It is located in the newer developed area by the Best Western Hotel. Outside of Atlantic Canada, the store is called The Real Canadian Superstore, which is kind of a funny name, but coming from Ontario, that's what I know it as, lol. They are owned by Loblaws and they sell President's Choice and No Name products. I didn't really see anything there that was different from my local Superstore at home, which was kind of disappointing for me because when I'm away from home I like to browse supermarkets for local and regional products. I guess The Superstore is very corporate and all stores are pretty much the same. So from a tourist point of view, I was disappointed, but if I was a local living in Liverpool, I think I would love the Superstore because it's big, bright, and modern looking, and prices are good. We decided to stop in on the way back to pick up bottled water and a couple other things for our hotel room. I stayed in the car while my husband did a quick run in and out. He reported that the store setup seemed weird to him and he spent a lot of time looking for the maple cookies. Cashier was friendly, he just thought the layout of the store was confusing. Hard to comment about the prices because of currency in Canadian and we are from US so everything seems so much cheaper. Posted sign says 2 - 24 pk water for $5. That would be $3.66 U.S. Dollar! Sobey's is a grocery chain across Canada -- we've visited it in PEI, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia…read more-- and have found it to be consistently ... well, a grocery store. Yeah, that's kind of a neutral report, we know. But it is a grocery, albeit one we've found to be well stocked with a lot of products, reasonably priced, clean, and with helpful employees. In so many words, not a bad place at all to stop when you need groceries. We especially liked the takeout foods at this Sobey's, tasty and convenient. So there.

Vainly searching for help to find an item and then rude service at deli counter…read more Searching for a sushi mat, I looked in vain for an associate, finally finding somone at the next Deli meat counter. It was 12:45 and the whole section of the store seemed empty of staff. The associate came back to the counter and there was only one other customer who seemed to be browsing the selections. I said, " I have a quick question " Do you have any sushi mats?" Her counter was just opposite a sushi supply section I had already searched. Despite this she said an abrupt "I don't know but she was here first" in a rude way. I was just looking to have a question answered and didn't think I should wait through a whole slicing meat order first. This person is not an asset to your business but you need to train your staff better and have a policy of asking staff to contact a floor person to come and help when necessary rather than rudely brushing them off. I left the store angry and highly doubt I will be back despite holding credit and loyalty cards from Superstore.
